"Such a shame you would think that, dear child." She said, pulling the 'I'm an elf, and therefore way older than you' card. "But I'm sweet enough for those that care to try. Now then, I suggest we leave Alexite to his palanquins and 'undead whores', and go report back." She said, as if undead whores were commonplace - which in Kaer Maga, was not inconcievable. "Don't let us keep you from your desires, Alexite. We all know you are a slave to them." She flashed a sickly sweet smile at him before quickening her pace. "Lets us leave him before we all become ill." She said, winking at Esfana as she did so.
At his words, Elsbeth pinched the bridge of her nose, frowning as she did so. "Alexite, just stop. Unless you want to be wooing women with a broken jaw, just shut up." Amazingly, he did. Perception ->1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 Not seeing this palanquin, Elsbeth frowned. "It never ceases to amaze me how you can go from insulting on person, to insulting another - in practically the same breath." She said, sounding somewhat peeved. "Torald, pay him no heed. He is a small-minded man who must belittle others in order to inflate his apparent self worth. Pity him, don't hate him."
It translated fine. :) "His harem!?" She exclaimed, confusion crossing his face. "I can assure you, cousin, that the only way such a self-obsessed miscreant is getting anywhere near me is when I'm cutting his purse-strings, or driving a blade through his heart. Men like Alexite disgust me." She eyed Torald for a moment before continuing. "Now Torald here - he's much more my type. Strong, unassuming, doesn't feel the need to show off every five seconds, humble. And he's easy on the eyes, to boot. Are you taking notes, Alexite? You should be."
Delighted to know about her latest acquisition, Elsbeth tucked it into one of her various sheaths, the spare normal blade vanishing up a sleeve. "I'm so glad you didn't forget it." She said, sarcasm dripping from her voice. "If you had, I'm sure your company would be absolutely unbearable. As it stands, I only have a mild desire to shut you up." She smiled at him, leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that 'shut you up' was probably a euphamism for 'kill you'. Glad to leave the crypt, Elsbeth kept the group company as they headed back into town proper.
Is the crossguard the outstreched wings? In that case, I have a friend with a dagger just like that! Elsbeth shows the others the clearly magical dagger she had discovered. "This is a pretty thing!" She said, hefting the dagger in her hand, testing its weight and balance. "Is there any chance any of you could tell me what it does? Aside from glow, I mean." Alcheringa, Nox has a book. Esfana has the ring. :P
"Strange. I wouldn't have expected them to leave us unmolested." Elsbeth said, confusion evident on her face. "But if the danger has passed, perhaps we will find something of interest here." Elsbeth joins in on the search, relying on her finely-honed senses to find anything of interest. Perception Check ->1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Elsbeth nodded to the elf as he moved up to her side, and focused her attention on the pair of ghouls to the right. The chakram that had proved so effective before spun down the hall, the light from various spells turning the bladed disc into a flash of deadly steel. Is this a new encounter? If that's the case, I get sneak attack (as everyone is flat-footed. Yay! Targeting Ghoul X23
7 damage? Wow, I could all but kill myself with that attack. AWESOME!
"Allow me to scout ahead." The Half-Elf said to the group. "My senses are just as keen as my elven cousin, and I've had a lot of practice moving unseen." She peered down the tunnel, looking at the ghouls too afraid to advance. "But while we have them bottle-necked, perhaps we should use a ranged assault to thin their numbers?" She spun her chakram on a single finger, ready to send it down the hallway at the ghouls. Roughly how far away are the ghouls?
Elsbeth lets out a little 'whoop' of victory as the ghoul fell. Moving quickly, she retrieved her chakram from the ground, and called out a warning to the others. "There are more coming! I'm thinking a half-dozen!" She said, moving back to the group. "Our tactics worked well the first time. Shall we do it again?"
Not missing a beat, Elsbeth dropped from the wall, her casual grace beautiful to behold. She moved quickly to the ghoul, striking out with the rapier that still remained in her right hand, hoping to skewer the creature on her blade. Acrobatics ->1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Aww, no crit. :( At least I got to do max damage, AND sneak damage!
Seeing that the others were preparing themselves, Elsbeth decided to kick off the proceedings by hurling the disk-like blade she had been holding, sending it winging out towards the nearest ghoul from her perch on the wall. Targeting the ghoul in L18.
Zyren DM: It's within 30ft, right? Otherwise I just did the worst possible damage I could. :(
Elsbeth frowned in response to the greeting, but bowed anyway. "Are all elves so formal? I'm Elsbeth." She said, nodding to both the elf and his pet cat. Perception Check ->1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Her sharp ears catching the sound, there was a low ring as the rapier at her hip was drawn, and a metal ring sppeared in her hand as if by magic. She could hear the noises from within the cemetary walls. "We've company. At least three, if my hearing is right." Zyren DM:

Creeping close to the wall, Elsbeth made an effort to scale the wall quietly, so as to have the opportunity to flank the ghouls once the others got inside. whispering "I'll flank when you're ready. I do my best when my enemies don't know I'm coming."
"I'm Elsbeth. And 'lady' is the wrong word, I can assure you." When they found Alexite, she frowned. Just who are these people? "You know this disgrace of a man, Esfana?" Still scowling, she stood with her arms folded. "I highly doubt your story, good 'sir'. But if you're done desecrating the temple, I suggest we get moving." For the benefit of the others, she nodded in greeting to them, pointedly ignoring Alexite. "I'm Elsbeth. Sir Laval thinks you need my help." Fixed the post.
Elsbeth sighed as she approached the closed door. The temple was always on her case - especially Laval. So she was to lend her aid to these 'adventurers'. She snorted her laughter at the thought. She would be surprised if any of them were even remotely capable. Reaching the shut door, Elsbeth knocked curtly. "Esfana, right? Sir Laval has sent me to you." While she waited, she crossed her arms. Yeah, this little favour was going to go great.
So, I'm building Zamira, and I need to ask two things - I need a good last name, and do I gain the skill points from the Half-Fiend trait (8+int)*(HD+3)? Obviously switched to just 8+int. But what skills can I choose from? EDIT: Also, do we qualify for the bonus HP or bonus skill point for taking levels of a favored class?
Wow. Check out these stat rolls! STR 17, DEX 16, CON 15, INT 13, WIS 11, CHA 13 Thanks to my +2 Human bonus and my bonuses from the Half-Fiend template, I'm all kinds of crazy. My lowest stat is a 13, and my highest a 21! EDIT: I switched my Con and Dex rolls around so I have a 19 Con and a 18 Dex. Damn that's badass. Oh, and I've decided on the 'super-tank' idea. Fighter/Knight here I come!
Apparently there is a 'Pathfindered' version of the Knight class (last seen in PHB II) which I'd like to take a look at if anyone's seen it. Regardless, I think I'm pretty solid on the Knight/Sorcerer angle. Although, having said that, a Knight/Fighter would be fairly badass (crap loads of feats plus kickass combat skills). Okay, that's a tempting one. What do you guys think? Do you want a 'super-tank'?
"Come now, my friends." Andrei says, his face open and smiling. "Is this any way to greet new friends?" He pauses for a moment, before continuing. "We managed to get this ship here through the hardships of the Sahuagin and other sundry sea-faring beasts, meaning that she arrives with a full load of cargo." Andrei is well aware that such rough people are most likely disinterested in feats of valor, but that the concept of new supplies could be welcome news. Could have been worse, I suppose.
Andrei rides again! Considering that I now get to run him to 3rd level, I'm going to go with my original plan, and give him a level of Paladin. In fact, considering he's currently lying in a pool of his own blood, having some kind of epiphany or vision whilst hanging out on death's door would be appropriate... What do you think of that Aubrey? |
