So I have rapid reload for the pistol but want to retrain that feat so it applies to a different firearm using the feat retraining rules. Under the rapid reload feat it says the feat may be taken more than once and each time applies to a different firearm. My DM says that line means you can't use retraining to change the gun type but I argue that the line only means you can take the feat multiple times so you can reload multiple types of firearms faster. What's the general take on that?

Also, if you can't retrain it to another firearm does that mean the feat is 100% permanent and cannot be retrained to something else? One of my DM's arguments is "how would you suddenly forget how to quickly reload the original weapon?" but under that logic how would you suddenly forget how to perform any feat that you sacked under the retraining rules?
