I think I do like the change on the AP side. I also hope to see more "coupled" APs to have a possibility to have a consistent story with the same char from level 1 to 20 - I just like that.
I am sad about the discontinuation fo quests. I always liked them, not only for new players, but also for short adventures, and I very much liked the all-ages quests.
Especially if you include kids in the game, the shorter and more focused quests where helpful for the shorter attention span, and the all-ages quests where especially nicely themed. I still love the Dollhouse...
That said - will there still be all-ages content?
(I've never seen all-ages on something different then quests, if there will be all-ages scenarios, this will be at least better as having nothing at all there ...)
As for the changes on the scenarios: I have to say, I really don't like it.
The reduction of play time will - in my opinion - not help. Already, some scenarios more feel like a series of skill challenges, other special systems, and combats. I also think that people will expect them to finish in 2-3 hours then, so the "run them as long as you like them" won't really work out. I'd like it better if we'd still have the longer scenarios, and some months don't have a second one, but a short quest instead, that can fill shorter timeslots.
And last but not least: I definitely don't like the narrow level band. It will make it harder for people that don't have a lot of characters in different levels to find games with other people or join in on open slots in existing games, be it online or on cons.
And from an Organizer perspective, especially for in-person cons, it's much harder to find a game for someone with only a limited number of characters. It will also be harder to find players for irregular games at stores or gaming clubs, where people might miss out on some sessions and levels tend to drift ...
While the other change to scenarios might not hurt the program itself and the player base, I think this one will.

Would PaizoCon@ also be viable for Game Stores or locations in Europe?

First and most important: if you want to bring PaizoCon Online to everyone, really start the planning with 24 hours of gaming a day in mind. Have timeslots that are overnight for US, but just the great, regular gaming time for all the other communities you have.
I know about the discussion to have a need for a Paizo employee needing to be online for the night-shift then, but I think with enough long-hand planning this is solvable - maybe even bringing in ressources like freelancers all over the world or even volunteers that already have a sort of contract with Paizo.
Also with enough planning and perhaps with the VO community advertising PaizoCon Online a bit, you might get more GMs from around the world offering games for PaizoCon. And there might be some nice opportunities for the communities that are mainly online when US sleeps to mix with the neighboring regions and get to know each other.
Additionally, I feel it would be a great opportunity to have small pop-up PaizoCons all over the world, not only in US.
I might know one or two stores and a (board and rpg) game society that might be interested to host something, depending on the details.

So, Paizo has still not sent my order or given me access to my subsription PDFs. They don't update my ticket other than "we are working on it" and "we have a backlog".
Paizo really seems to have a backlog that big that they want to get rid of longstanding customers!

Hello Brian,
and no answer on that again for more than two weeks.
Regarding on how Paizo currently acts against their customers, I have to suspect now Paizo is keeping money for itself that is expected to be paid as taxes.
I now ask proof that Paizo forwards taxes really to the tax authorities, otherwise I am contacting the tax authorities myself to raise this issue with them.
Sorry to have to be that straightforward at the moment, but how Paizo acts at the moment overall is just burning all trust.
Thanks

Hello Cori Marie,
many thanks for your answer, and I'll try that.
Since they seemingly also don't monitor emails, it's always worth a try on the forums - even now that the customer support forum was taken down, sometimes it's still quicker to get an answer on the forum than on email - as numerous problems in the last months showed.
Perhaps the new mail with your suggested subject helps - I'm always happy to take tips on how to get support by Paizo - since Tonya took over and they lost some of CS guys, it is easier to summon a lesser god in PF2 using Society rules, than to summon an answer by customer support ...

Hi Brian,
unfortunately, I think I found another glitch in VAT processing.
Luckily, this time has nothing to do with shipments, it is about orders that only contain digital goods (in my case, PDFs).
If you need an example, you can look up order 36996350.
In the order process, VAT is calculated and it is also billed (you might see the PDF costs 27,99$, but payments are 29,95$).
But the order states the following:
Order page wrote: VAT has not been charged.
No sales tax was charged because all items are exempt or the purchaser is exempt.
VAT rate at destination: 19.00%
Net VAT due to Paizo: $0.00
So, only one of these can be true - either there's no VAT on this order (in this case, Paizo billed me to many dollars), or the statement at the order page is wrong (and Paizo should check that it this error does not mean the collected VAT stays with Paizo).
Can you please look into that?
Thanks!

Dear Paizo Customer Service,
there is a problem with order 36961624.
I've already sent a mail to customer service more than a week ago - but (and unfortunately I have to add:) as usual, I got no reaction via mail so far, and the order is still pending.
So, I'm trying it this way to get at least some answer ...
Can you please speed this up?
I’ve realized that order 36961624 was not yet shipped, and as far as I can see, this is because the kobold plushy preorder was moved from August 21st to September 21st.
Since this is holding back all other items, including the PDFs of my subscriptions, please move the poor pending plushy back to its safe sidecart, so it doesn’t block the shipment of the other stuff, mainly the subscriptions (and the corresponding PDFs, too), for another month?
Thank you,
Best regards,
Florian

Hello all, hi Brian,
also feedback from me:
I received the store credit for the orders where I had to pay extra VAT a while ago.
Additionally, the last two shipments (sent July 29th and August 1st) both arrived after exactly 14 days each, and directly to my place instead of the customs office, and without anything needed to be paid extra.
So, I can feedback that it looks good at the moment for Germany.
I hope it will stay like that, and thanks Brian for taking care of this!

Brian Bauman wrote: If Paizo has already assessed and collected VAT for orders from Europe, we will reimburse any fees assessed by your local customs office due to this issue. Hi Brian,
while this sounds like a nice thing from Paizo to do in the way you phrase and post it, I'm sure you and Paizo are aware that you're legally obliged to pay back any VAT that you collect but that is never received by the federal tax offices where the VAT is due?
To be honest, when I see how long it takes for customer service to work on IOSS issues they are sent, I could only guess that I will receive store credit roundabout 9 to 15 months after Paizo collected the VAT? (I've not yet received any feedback on some mails to customer service from beginning of the year)
Additionally, store credit is not the same as a refund - it can't be used on subscriptions, and I only can use it to generate more revenue for Paizo. And to be honest, with how it currently goes with IOSS and how long there was no improvement at all for months, and how hard it currently is to get any support from Paizo, I'm not that positive that Paizo will fix the IOSS issue any time soon, and if it is not fixed in the near future, I will simply stop ordering at Paizo.
So, in this case, future store credit would not be of any use for me. It is money I paid to Paizo and not received anything for it.
This is not really acceptable. At least there has to be a guarantee that the store credit will be in the account within days (not even weeks!) after sending the receipts to Paizo.

But that might be a good general question to you, Brian:
How should we customers behave at the moment when we need to pay VAT a second time (to our postal service, carrier, customs office, local tax office - whatever, it's different in different parts of EU) or else the shipment will be returned.
Should we pay?
Do we get a guarantee from Paizo to be refunded the taxes that we had to pay twice?
Do we get a guarantee from Paizo to be refunded the shipment cost if the package is returned to Paizo due to IOSS issues?
This would be very good to know! (currently still waiting for two IOSS shipments ...)
Thanks

Dalvyn wrote: I'm not sure whether I should refuse the package and wait till the problem is fixed, or once again pay those additional taxes, or simply buy the book again from another cheaper source. Unfortunately, as far as I know and have experienced on a shipment that was not returned by me, but even by our customs (or carrier, not really identifiable for me) due to IOSS problems, Paizo will only refund you the product cost and taxes paid to paizo, but not not the shipping fees. So, you'd then also loose at least the 17.75$ paid for shipping.
I'm stilling discussing with Paizo customer support (not Brian, another support rep) to get back my shipping cost from a January shipment (refund for the items itself came also only in May).
Not really logical, in my point of view, why customers should have to pay for shipping costs for a returned shipment that was returned due to IOSS problems on Paizo's side ...

If your finance / tax guys need some information about what the problems were so far, there already were some users here in the forum that offered to try and ask their customs offices about it.
I know my customs office (after I paid there a second time and at the same time filed a request to try and find the IOSS payment) is still trying to identify these payments and what went wrong.
So, if you can tell us what is needed, maybe we and the customs offices we're in contact with can help.

Anyone else here having the feeling that Paizo simply ignores their European customers and the increasing problems with shipments and IOSS? I've not heard back for months, as well as seemingly a lot of other customers e.g. in this thread. Even in this thread, last word from Paizo comes from Tonya and is over a month old.

I've had (and have at least until the most recent received order) the exactly same problem.
My customs office (in Germany, customs is responsible for both customs duty and import VAT) was for all orders since Paizo started using IOSS not able to find any payment from Paizo to customs. The information on the invoice doesn't help, because it is a general information on the Paizo IOSS account, and they'd need some kind of transaction number or something that is directly linked to this specific order / package.
For all received packages so far, I had to pay VAT twice - once to Paizo, once to my customs office.
The first IOSS package even vanished completely (either lost or sent back to Paizo, don't really know yet), and I assume it had to do something with the new IOSS process.
For me, it would be very helpful if I could receive the IOSS numbers related to the individual packages from the past, so I can send them to my customs office (and possibly get back part of what I paid twice on VAT), and if it also could be sent out to the customer as general rule on future packages that use IOSS.
If I receive the numbers for my past orders, I will also ask my customs office what went wrong and what should be done differently in the future.
As far as they could tell me with what they have at the moment, there are two things:
- the VAT payment from Paizo for IOSS has to be made before the package reaches the customs office in Germany, this has to be ensured by sender
- the VAT payment has to be keyed to the individual package ID, otherwise (with only the general IOSS information) package and payment can't be matched.
But these are only general statements, without further information, they can't tell what went wrong for these individual shipments.
I also tried to send some mails about this to Paizo, but (as I wrote in another post) emails from customer service don't seem to reach me (besides the order confirmations and the "Thanks for contacting Paizo" mails). Or nobody is working on the tickets.

Hello,
it seems I have a similar problem to what several users have already told in Forum Thread "Customer Service [149692]".
First of all, I'd like to make you (more) aware of this issue - I receive order confirmations from customer.service@paizo.com, but when I send mails to customer service, I only receive a confirmation mail "[ID####] Thank you for contacting Paizo!" mails, but I don't seem to receive any other mails. Either there is no work on these tickets, or if there is, it doesn't send out any email updates.
But mainly, I want my problem solved. The current problems(s) have received different ticket IDs so far, the most current ones are [154119],[154826],[158347]
Can you please have a look at them and give me answers, and if emailing doesn't work, feel free to answer my questions here in the forums?
Many thanks,
Best regards,
Florian

Hello,
I checked my recent orders, and I found that two items didn't arrive yet and I also don't have received a shipment mail for them.
It's about order 24933077 and the two items:
Pathfinder Flip-Tiles: Forest Starter Set Paizo Inc.
Pathfinder Flip-Mat: Haunted Dungeons Multi-Pack Paizo Inc.
Both items currently are in stock and seem to have been when I placed the order.
I received several items already that I ordered much later.
Due to this, I also checked my mails, and it seems I never received a shipment mail for these two items.
Can you please check if the items have been shipped already?
Many thanks,
Kind regards,
Florian

Can you please delete the following lists for me:

Abberations
D&D Minis Default
Lists:
My List 2
And for the remaining "My list" it would be great if you could fix it so that I can edit the list again.
Many thanks,

It's pity this is not available in Germany :(
I don't need a translated version, would be totally happy to play this in English - but it is only available in the amazon.com skill store, and not in the amazon.de skill store, and the Alexa / Echo devices are limited to one skill store ...
Any chance you can work with Amazon to bring this (without translation) to the amazon.de Skill Store?
That would be great!
Thanks

Another feedback for the transition mainly:
It is stated quite clearly that faction boons don't do nothing anyomre - including the improved faction champion boons.
Can a bit of clarification be provided what happens with them and the fame spent for them? Will this fame just be lost?
Or will there be something we get instead of the bought improved faction champion?

I'm trying to prep this at the moment, and do have some questions ... Perhaps someone can give me a bit of advice here on the interpretations:
- When counting samples to calculate successes for the objectives, are all phytoliths also counted?
- from the description in A, section "Sampling Material Entries", I thought that all the following sections should list something about phytoliths and if and how many can be collected - but only section B lists something about phytoliths to be collected, and C mentions them shortly (but not as to be collected, only as "their influence does something), and D mentions there can be somthing collected from the wall without further details, and after that there's already E where the axioms react to it ... should I mention them in all of the sections and ask the PCs if they want to collect it?
- And, as well, section C mentions a free regular sample, D mentions the notes, and G mentions Eliza wants to collect samples there - what about E, F and H? And is G an automatic success and thus regular sample like C?
- I assume that the baseline from A doesn't count as a sample for objectives?

Hi,
I just realised I missed some answers here in the forums, since I somehow expected to be notified by mail if someone answers to a post of mine. But I was not.
I checked both my privacy and message board settings, but I don’t find anything that I could enable there.
Are there no notifications, or am I looking in the wrong places to enable them?

Hi Joan,
thanks a lot. Sorry I did not react earlier, but I did not receive a mail notification about that (perhaps I need to check my notifications settings for the Forum)

Hi, is there a reason this still lists gods & magic and legends as the only possible issues to start with? I‘d like to start this subscription, but with the product that comes out next week, but currently still don’t have the option for it?

I do have several items of feedback and questions both on the new guide and on the blog post with the new clarifications:
- There are some items I miss from the lists for school consumables that were included before - mainly it is the Bloodseaker Beak ... I do not see a real reason why items like that should be removed?
- I'd second what some others already said - we need more hightened scrolls in the consumables section, and generally some of the removed options don't seem so logical. Why is Mage Armor removed? Why is heal only available at so few levels? What about Soothe as an option for occult casters?
- what if the needed retraining of Skill / Feat options for the changed schools makes other choices illegal that used the school choices as prerequisites? Are these retrainings also free?
- I think, at least some additional guidance on language options would be good
- How will it be handled if a character wants to collect reputation for several factions, now that the faction champion boons are gone? Can the character simply decide to use another faction for the next adventure?
- will the Game Boons for 0 cost to upgrade Hirelings (expert, master, professional) work with "old" Hirelings that were purchased in the old system using Fame?
- will Fame that is left after December 31st be converted to AcP oder something else somehow?
- now that all chronicle boons are listed on the boons page - is the ruling that the boons for the scenarios are considered spoilers gone? Or will there be an automatic filtering later on that only shows the boons that are already unlocked by the player?

Hello Support,
I have two problems with this order:
1. Gencon discount code
I have a feeling that the gencon2020 code didn't work as expected.
Is there a reason that the 20% discount did not work on the 3 SpellCard Downloads, and on two (of several) FlipMat PDFs?
I know there are some products the discount is not appliying to, but I thought this would be only preorders, backorders and non-Paizo Downloads. The affected products here are all Paizo owned downloads, and the PDFs are no preorders (and I don't think there's something like a backorder PDF?).
Could you please check this and see if you can add the discount retrospectively?
2. and the more grave one - credit card charged a too large amount
As it looks, the part of the order that should have gone on the store credit I used (from organized play vouchers) was ALSO billed to my Credit Card. You should see this in your systems, there are two credit card transactions - one with 65 USD (exactly the amount I had org play vouchers) and a second one with the rest. I can send you my credit card bill via mail, if needed.
Can you please correct that together with the other issue? Please send the money back to my credit card as soon as possible!
Many thanks,
Kind regards,
Florian

I'd like to order some older Map Packs and FlipMats, and use the discount subscribers get until end of September.
But I'd like to have this items not ship now, but with my next subscription shipment, which will be in October.
If I order the old issues now, put them to the sidecart, so that they are shipped in October - will I then receive the discount?
Thank you,

Hi,
in the news I find only conversion notes and downloadable supplements for Dungeon until approximately February 2007.
Was the publishing of conversion notes for the Savage Tide and of Supplements for Dungeon in general stopped?
Is there any chance to get conversion notes for the rest of the Adventure path and / or the pdf supplements?
Thanks to anybody who knows something about this and lets me know ...
