From the beginning, Elann could see no tracks. Even as the others pointed them out, she would go wide-eyed trying to see what they saw, but to no avail. Only a couple of times could she see a bare footprint here and there to confirm they were on some sort of track, but when that fell short, she paused, looking expectantly at those tracking them. As the moments passed and no sign was found, she grew increasingly saddened. Tears filled her eyes for the fate of these people as they indeed could not be tracked any longer. When they had set off on their trail, abandoning their mission of the loom, she felt like a big damn hero, but now...now she feels like a failure. In desperation, she too will spread out and search for the concealed footfalls to no avail. "That can't be it! No!" she exclaims after a good hour of searching, researching, backtracking, and searching again; in her anger, even picks up a small stick (large for Boram and her) and throws it against a nearby tree (all-in-all a very cute display but with little actual effect to anything). There are some strong Osirian phrases muttered under her breath in saddened frustration as she passionately searches more. The others will have to actively turn her away from doing it, but when that does happen, eventually they will make it back to town to rejoin the loom with the wagon master. The promises of the sheriff bring her to subtle tears once more, and only his assurances of trackers being sent out seems to brighten her some, but the rest of the day she seeks solitude from the inn. She will go off to a grassy patch of earth and trees, will off her armor and slip on a white dress with golden accents amid some underbrush and bushes. She will take out her braids and seem to almost beautify herself for the ritual. The rest of that evening she will hold a personal vigil of prayer for those aboard the ship. During this time, one can attribute the singing and dancing prayers of Elann to be something similar to funeral rites, or prayers given for expecting mothers by tribal priests. It is far from the pious clerical actions of priests in temples in the large cities. The words she speaks are indistinguishable by non-native Osirions as it is prayer language in a tribal tongue but is beautiful regardless. One might almost call it theater how if one were to watch her, they could almost tell what she was praying. All about her would be a tangible divine feeling of closeness to the community. Those invested in her, such as her shieldmates would know she is not her cheery self during this time. By the end of the evening though, she will put away her prayer mat with a final heavy sigh, will cease her singing and dancing prayers, and will be herself once more. She will even rejoin those in the inn and trusts to hope. She will also, if able, encourage others in that as she hopes for their return through divine intervention. That night, she will rest early and will be up early to set off with the wagons in full armor.

Fifteen or twenty minutes at a gallop is a long time back to town. Elann would feel hesitant to give up D'Witt's aid for that long if they do run into trouble. If only both the dock master or the merchant got curious and sent a scout their way, then they would find the loom safe. Elann took to writing in the mud that they are going to track down the crew for safety and to secure this loom to the town. The message would be briefly written. "Let us go after the crew then, and not waste more time here. The ship will have a chance to survive now that the water has killed the base and all of the wood above is wet. Let's hope its enough." With the ship on the shallowness and not being fully able to submerge, it should be easy to repair the hull and pump out the water, should the fire not consume it. Then it would be right as rain. A few pieces of wood to replace what had burned and they'd be worthy to be on the waters again. Hopefully, they have not died. If the others are in agreement, she will head off in the direction of the tracks, doing her best to keep them in sight. Survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Yes, I'd leave it up to the GM to explain the situation better. Is the crane in any danger of burning up now? Is the fire mostly subdued? How far would the town be? If it is a short gallop to where at most the group is waiting a few extra minutes, it might be worth it. If not, then we might just go after the crew. It all depends on what he "sees" of the progression of events here.

To make this plain: Elann is requesting someone ride back to town while they lower the load from the boat to the height so that a wagon can pull up and they load it into the back. The fire is still active (for the moment) and she doesn't want it to burn down the crane primarily, but also wants it to completely go out, so while waiting for the person to get back from town, she will try putting out the fire, because it is still needed. If someone from the team can ride quickly and bring the wagon intended for the loom, that's the quicker they can head off and/or choose to abandon the fire at that moment or completely put it out (which for how much water she's put on the ship at this point, I'd be surprised any fire wouldn't go out).

Elann is confused as she was the one fighting to go after the crew in her previous suggestion. "We will need to leave the loom on the winch if our caravan host is to get it on his wagon. To ensure the rope doesn't burn and the load fall before he arrives, I need to put out the fire. So before we can save the crew, we need to first put out the first meanwhile someone riding the short distance back to town to tell him to come. Let's go. Time is of the essence. The sooner he gets here, the sooner we can choose to abandon the ship and/or the load. If it is deposited fully on the ground and the winch burns up, we may never get it onto the wagon. As for the crew, this shouldn't take but a few minutes more if you hurry and bring the caravan's wagon." She will continue to cast to ensure the top of the boat's flames are out.

"Not a total loss at all. You'll see, Amrus. And isn't the crew being taken a worry here? Where are they? I...I expected to see some bodies, but there were none. Not one. Not even adrift anywhere. No blood...anything. They had to go somewhere. The loom is important, and we can ride back very quickly and fetch our caravan leader to bring his wagon for it out here, and with help of that winch--if I can save this boat from burning up--he can get it on top of a wagon, but we need to go after them, don't we?" When the hole in the side begins to gush in water, she nods. "That should sink it down in elevation enough to get the base of the fire. Then if we can find the crew, they can repair it and sail again. I'll keep watering the ship from above while someone returns to town to get the caravan leader and maybe fetch some of his crew to help out?"

While down below, she looks to the hull for weak spots where the fire has almost burnt through. She tries to find a spot that she can kick through or find a maul up on top for hammering down pins for ropes that they can take with them. The young woman would make her way off the load as it raises, attach the rope to the load and then would set about knocking a hole in the side of the ship. If nothing else, it will get water in there and keep it all from burning up. Perhaps the bottom half of the ship still is off the mud bank and can sink further? She isn't sure. At the side of the ship, she will take whatever bludgeoning-like sailing tool she can manage, her silent piton, and will begin bashing the piton into the side of the ship to wedge it open where the fire had touched, just below the water line. By the time the loom is off and onto the ground, she hopes to have made some progress. Every once in a while, she again will case up above in an effort to keep the fires down from spreading on the upper decks. A series of rolls while the loom is being loaded off.

Question: If we were to punch a hole in the hull and mostly sink the ship down into the shallows, would it sink? Is it too much into the mud to go down at all? I think if we could sink it, the fire could go out, then as long as it's shallow, it can be repaired and water emptied out of it with a pump and buckets. We might be able to save the ship, but it depends on how capable it would be to be sunk.

GM, 2 decks does not seem that far to go. I wondered in my last post if it was safe to drop down as the distance isn't great; or if it is, is the loom of stable enough build to use its construction to drop down onto; or would dangling from the edge and then dropping (negating 5 feet) be significant enough to not hurt Elann? If so, and if the winch is not connected already, she will connect it. Just need a little more description... Currently, Elann has the tagline attached from the pony to the railing of the ship. Once the load is on its way up with the crane, she will attach the rope to the loom's load so the pony can keep it from swinging. Just so everyone knows what I'm trying to do.

When the rope is ready, she will take the other end up onto the ship. It was unrealistic with all that was going on to have Amrus pull up buckets of water and she wanted to hit the base of the flames, so once she is up top with the others, she will cast water down into the hold, hoping to hit the base of the fire at least once with a flood of water. She also alternates with the top of the ship to make sure the flames up there do not grow larger. The rope end she hauled up onto the ship, she will lightly fasten to a railing until the loom is free of the hold and it can be attached to its side to keep it from swinging. She looks down at the loom. If it is already attached to the winch, she will wait until it rises by Amrus' steady hand. If not, and she can reach it or safely jump down to it without breaking the loom (not sure of its construction), she will do so in between castings. If it is too far down into the hold, she will have to rely upon those within the vessel and will do her best to keep the flames at bay until they can escape.

If Elann can take 10, she will for a total of 15. If not, here is the roll for this round. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 Elann also frowns when Boram doesn't take the rope and tie it to his pony. He perhaps doesn't understand, so she will try to grab an end of the rope and fasten it to the horn of his pony's saddle for him, then will lead his pony by the mouth at an angle that provides just the right guide for the rope. He himself doesn't have to hold anything. Eventually, this will steady the loom and make it safe to swing out over onto the land. Meanwhile, she keeps casting her spell. Once the loom is out over the shoreline, she will nod to Amrus to lower the load. To show Boram she holds no ill will to his misunderstanding and inaction, she winks at him and pinches his thigh fat while he sits on the pony. Her attention is brief to him and she returns to cast yet another spell. "Make sure they are okay down there. Amrus, if you can, get a bucket and help throw water down so they have a path back up!" "I have dumped hundreds of gallons upon gallons of water on this ship, but yet it still burns too hot. We are far too late to save it." she grumbles cutely to Boram in between taking a deep breath and casting again.

With Boram keeping an eye on the forest and everyone else busy, including her, she calls out to him. "Boram, can you help Amrus with that? You will direct him where that winch needs to go. Also, maybe take one of these ropes and toss one end of it to Amrus to help secure to the load? Your pony can keep it from spinning." It is clear that Elann has seen a ship unloaded quite a number of times. Unfortunately, she cannot help or stop casting or the fire will grow.

"Someone on the boat, throw some water on the base! Even just a little might turn the tide! The other try to help Amrus with the winch!" she calls out in desperation as her arms are getting a little tired from casting. Her horse is getting a little irritated from the jerking motions as well. Recognizing this, Elann slips from her horse's back and loops its guide through her arm as she casts so it doesn't run away but also isn't bothered by her casting. She can't even be sure her words are heard over the roaring, crackling blaze.

Elann seems to bristle with inner strength as Amrus encourages her. Even the water surging from the raindrops falling on the top of the ship seem to increase their flow for a moment (though effectively doing nothing more to the fire). Regardless, it is clearly appreciated by the look on her face. When the others go to head onboard, the radius of the falling water is enough to where they already will be getting soaked quickly.

"I can kind of keep the flames down, but I don't think we can save the ship. I think for now, I'm going to keep casting my spell. You all work to get that loom off the ship!" Her voice gets a little squealy with anticipation. The sentence, spoken hastily and in a manner hard to understand. And given that common is not her native tongue, it is impressive that she can be understood at all. The reason for her haste is seen, as not a moment passes in the break of her spellcasting and the flames seem to gain ground. She quickly returns to flooding the top of the ship. "If you want to try to save the ship, someone who is brave and wants to try to carry water down the stairs, can try to hit the base of the fires. With me hitting the top, that might save us the ship! But don't put your lives on the line for it!" she mutters out quickly and then casts more. The quick jerking movements of her hands to form the somatic components, as well as the chanting seems to tax her a bit as she is just repetitively casting the spell.

"Yes!" she answers Amrus with gusto. "I most certainly do!" Elann will begin to chant and hold the symbol upon her breasts tight in one hand. Once she is close enough, the blessings of Bes, for the good of all, begin to create water dispersed in a wider area. 4 gallons of water are created in an area of 12ft each time she casts, creating a minor downpour of deluge over the ship in certain areas. If and when the fires begin to wane, she will more focusedly drench the parts of the ship that may have embers still causing steam. The cantrip, cast and recast, should do the job nicely; unless this is some strange magical fire. To D'Witt, she shakes her head. "Reporting back? Briefly yes. Piloting the ship back to the dock? No way. I'm not 10 sailors in one Benshie girl. I've been on ships but I'd steer it into the docks...," She shrugs, being truthful, "...but we need to go make sure these people are alright ourselves. It's our duty. The town guard cares about the town only right? Don't you all think? Isn't this why the gods have put US here?"

She makes the bend in the road and notices a column of smoke rises in the distance. "Look! Quickly now. I can't see how a ship stuck in the mud would be on fire!" What if one of our lives is lost in the mud? Some compensation could help ease us into action..." Blinking of eyes and she rocks a bit on her heels while biting a lip innocently. If he's telling the truth or she believes his lies: Elann will nod slowly and will consider the offer.
"Very well. You are a kind man. I am Elann Amuel." Now that he knows her name, he may have a reference to the party for the purpose of telling the mayor. If she can detect he is apprehensive about going to the mayor or just plain doesn't want to, she will recognize it but let it go. She will curtsy in farewell, taking hold of her armored battle skirt as if it were made of cotton and performing a dip with her leg crossed. Shortly after, she will quickly start grabbing the large shipping ropes and handing them over to Boram on his pony. She will then return to her own horse and beast of burden to bring them along the way south of the city. Eventually, it seems that curiosity gets the better of the Dock Master, who upon talking to Elann, reveals the boat may be stuck. "What a shame. The caravan may be waiting for something that isn't going to come if something isn't done. Just south of town? Well, that isn't far." She nods to Amrus's words. "If there isn't, perhaps we can act as temporary employees in your service sir, ride south and see what we can see. If we can help and free them, then so be it. It might be worth it to you. It would alleviate any worries you may have over the ship, would dispel any rumors, and might get a certain caravan leader off of your neck." Looking sweetly at the dockmaster once more, she asks, "Might we borrow some of these ropes here on the dock? Should there be some way we can use our horses to free the ship, they might come in handy as a...um...a lift?" She can't think of the word for Pulley or Block and tackle at the moment.

If there was a person to be offended at being said to have a pretty face enough to con someone into doing what they wanted, it wasn't Elann. She loves the fact that Boram thinks she's pretty! She giggles a little with a blush and nods. "I know in my land such exchanges are normal to ensure smooth activity, but I was not sure about here. And being a Silver Shield...I wanted to avoid such transactions that might be seen as less reputable. But we'll give it a try and see what he says!" She nods in agreement with the others. As she finishes her wine, she hands it off to the servant who brought it, and bows her head in thanks before making her way down toward the docks. Once there, she will try to sort out the reason for the congestion. She believes the dock master when he says it will happen. They are men ruled by time, and men of time rarely let time and delays get the better of them. She will stand nearby, observing the comings and goings. Elann happily sighs at the fine greeting of the rotund man. It is as if she brightens when being met with kindness and sours when met with darkness. "Do not worry..." she speaks to the wagon leader and in a way, halts Amrus from heading off. "Perhaps a quick prayer of luck and fortune will aid us. And perhaps the taste of wine will refresh our senses to see further to spot the River Serpent." She will grasp her holy symbol resting above her bosom and will focus on the powers of her god. "Great Bes. Ease the sufferings of this man before you. Look at his seat, faced outward toward the docks. He acts with kindness, but he is all worry. If in your kindness, you could shower us with your good fortune, perhaps by the time our wine is finished, may the River Serpent be seen." She also closes her eyes for a moment to reach into her oracular powers. Perhaps there was something else that the other powers that be wanted her to know concerning this shipment? When the prayer is finished, she holds her glass for the pour and will enjoy it as she listens for words from Bes or the other gods/powers. "Is there a way we can make up the delay? Perhaps traveling harder or longer through the woods might get us our of danger quicker and make up the time?" She looks around. "Also, good sir. What about when it does arrive. Perhaps we can recruit just a few more people to load it faster. It might help get us on track." She smiles up to him.

It was a thought, Boram Elann would saddle up her horse, get her beast of burden ready, and would set out to find where the wagons were being assembled in Macridi with the others. Once they made their way past the food vendors, she would naturally stop and purchase an armfull of snacks to enjoy. In time, they find the wagons and she nods at the sight of the tarps. When the others sign for named animals, she doesn't pay much attention and just signs for any horse without much care for the name. Animals were just that to her. She had goats as a child and never named them. They ate them. With horses, they were meant for burdens and fast travel. Boram leans in close again and she tries to listen to both Braegar and the halfling. She will turn to look down to him briefly and will smile warmly at his playful wink. She will affectionately lay a hand on his shoulder and leave it there as the group talks. Boram will notice that she fiddles subconsiously with her fingers. I just picked some words off of the Forgotten Realms Dwarven list. I wouldn't pay it any mind. Just type up some gobbly-gook words and then spoiler it in dwarven :P No need to get technical.

Being that Braendar is speaking to a literal oraclar prophetess and cleric of Bes, as well as others, she tries to not take offense to his antireligious words. She is truly angellic to take such abuse when she literally has seen the gods. Also, the fact it is done without knowledge also is excused by her. She bears it with patience, just grins, and nods to his words, trying to gain a picture in her mind of what they are likely to see. "Thank you for the opportunity of this first assignment, sir. We will do as you ask." At the end of their dialogue, Elann will have to inquire more about the mark and what type of shop Braendar's cousin owns so they can actually find it, and then will offer that she can carry a letter for him if Braendar wishes to say greetings to his cousin and his family there. She will even write it in dwarven if he wishes, as she does have some education in scribing words in beautiful penmanship. In preparation for the letter, she will script out what he says on her chalkboard, then will flip over the board onto the back of it and will use it as a portable table for using her ink and papers. "As for us," she speaks to the party now that their business there is concluded, "We should stop by Allura's tower. We might find out more about Malfeous and what he's up to...which is something to keep our eyes on...as well as receive whatever this mysterious gift is of hers. Then, I say we head to Macridi."

When Boram gathers the three-legged stool, Elann will kindly help Boram stabilize it while he climbs up on top of it, since it didn't particularly look like the most stable of stools. Upon taking a light jab with an elbow, she will briefly look down to the halfling somewhat confused as to not only what he wants with his cute halfling smile, but also not understanding what he means. "'Show off?' Show off what?" Her brain then switches to phrase-mode, as common isn't her first tongue. She begins to wrap her mind around the fact it must be a quip given his face and then she recalls having heard it before. It only takes her a second, but her response to Boram isn't a sly smile indicating he is on the mark, in fact, quite the opposite. The cleric gives a little shake of her head no that he is wrong. From the look in her cheery eyes fading to minor disappointment at the thought of being a brown-noser, he can tell she acted naturally and this playful accusation was all a shock to her. She must truly enjoy chew and had said what she said to kindly greet the dwarf master instead of trying to impress him. From the shock on her face, he can assume this is the first she's considering his take on things, even if joking. Regardless, her smile returns and she returns to listening, clearly not offended by the little halfling's quip against her.

Dwarven: "Ah Sonn, dauble findal, Dornar Braednar GrogtBarak" she replies in perfect Dwarven to the offer and takes a pinch and puts it professionally under her lips without dropping any. Not quite as large a pinch as his own, but significant enough to get the benefit of flavor and appeal without a bulge in the look of her lip. The dwarven sounds strange on her innocent lips, but it is said clearly as if speaking to a reverent host instead of a despised dwarf like many locals might do. Around her neck, he can see the dwarven holy symbol for Bes. He will know she is most certainly a trusted midwifery source to help bring birth of any dwarven children at the least. Such a resource in this land might be worth having knowledge of.
"Oh thanks (Good Stone), may luck/treasure find its way to your home, Master (Lord) Braednar StoneShield" She will gladly scoot up next to the dwarven man and look at his map. Following is her half pointing at it and recalling numerous locations she's been to in silence as he speaks. It is like she's reacquainting herself with where she's been in the past while learning the route. "Two from me," she replies to his inquiry on who has questions. "I think we can protect them from thievery well enough, but fire, if their intent is to destroy, is another. Can we ask for a canvas to help cover the load? It might help should that be any bandit's desire." She shrugs and then remarks, "You never know..." There is a delightful chuckle and then she recalls her second question, "Oh..and...are there any gifts you want us to bring back with us that you yourself desire from the Festival? Some special Ebberantian ale perhaps?" The metal master will find no deceit in her eyes. No intent to butter him up or cutely weave her way into his good graces. She's just a sweet, innocent person.

Elann seems curious that Anduriel didn't see her god. "That is strange that I could see him blessing you, but you could not see him yourself. In any case, if you wish, you can give thanks to Bes. He is my god, a god of community and luck. He aids in bringing safe births of children and many other good things. He has been very kind to me and has chosen to bless our party now too!" "No," she laughs as she answers Boram, who is currently stuffing his pockets with things. "And if you have to dive for something, that bread will act as a nice cushion," With D'Witt and him grabbing the bread, there probably isn't enough for her to do the same, but she will try to be quick on the draw before it's all gone and will stuff one good chunk of it into her satchel. "Okay. I prayed. I'm fed and stuffed. I didn't die. Yep! I think I'm ready for the morning. Shall we, friends?" When they are ready, she will move to get up and will hold the door open for them to pass by her. No doubt there were probably others outside who wondered why there was a shot inside the inn, but she pays them no mind. She heads toward the forge, letting the others lead the way.

A warm grin passes over the Osirion's face as their fellow Shields cheer them on. Elann is outright giddy at the attention and quickly and nervously retakes her seat; a heavy blush on her face. "Okay, if we are sent out, we will stop by," she replies. "Well...we certainly didn't do it for the attention, but it is nice to know we handled ourselves okay at least," she comments to her companions. Before he gets them sent to their deaths, there is a heaving sigh mixed with a chuckle of nervousness as she looks to Amrus. "I'm okay with a delivery to start..." she states weakly with worry and a cute but nervous 'haha' chuckle. Then overcoming her nervousness, she states more lively: "For all we know, we could be delivering a knuckle sandwich to Malfeous!" She cutely punches the air with her cestus and then winks playfully. "Oh, I should thank my god..." Once seated, she closes her eyes in prayer and then comes out of it a few moments later. She then looks to Anduriel and asks, "Did you see him when I touched you?"

Elann will yelp a bit in shock at the sound of gunfire. As she observes the room. There is a flying dagger, a streaming spell of energy, and numerous shuffling as people seek to stop the last imp. She will have to do what she can, but is almost afraid to go after the next one. Bravery calls! She rushes forward to lay a gentle hand on Anduriel to encourage her to go after it. At her touch, from everyone else's perspective, nothing happened except a simple silly armored girl just ran to hide behind a warrior with a sword ready to charge. From Anduriel's perspective, Elann is seen as bathed in golden light. In fact, the world seems brighter and more beautiful than before. And in that light, there is an even brighter path. The fighter Anduriel would know that if she follows it through, chances are, it will lead to great success! Move Action: Moving to Anduriel, trying to avoid AoO from last Imp.
Bit of Luck:
You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, giving it a bit of luck. For the next round, any time the target rolls a d20, she may roll twice and take the more favorable result. She wonders at the popping destruction of these beasts. Was this normal?

I think I need some clarification. Elann went to the door to block it from potentially being opened. I didn't expect that the door would be open, being that no one is or has been mentioned as come through it (nor would they likely leave it open). So I don't know why he's trying to slide between my legs. Could use some insight there. Also, just wondering, there wouldn't be space behind me as my back would be up against the door, right? So it's not like he can go behind me either. So I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. Regardless, here is her AoO. AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

I think you mentioned in your intro post that he was 5'9", D'witt. And it is not so great a difference in height when sitting down between us. Here is an image showing the height of those in the party who we know.

Unlike most people who drink coffee, the caffeine hits her immediately. It is possible she's slightly allergic to it and/or sensitive, but she immediately begins to talk at a faster pace. It's hardly noticeable unless you are actively paying attention to it, but by the end of her cup, her legs are shaking due to inactivity. It looks like she could go run a 10-mile. "You are so sweet, Anduriel!" she exclaims and returns the grin. The Osirian looks up as food finally comes. To Hannah, she returns a comment: "Caravan? Oh...interesting! You seem to know more about our task than we do. More coffee for me, please! And more porridge and bread, when you get around to it!" she thrills as shortly after, she takes a spoonful of honey porridge and a tiny cute bite of her loaf of bread. One can almost see her happily dancing as her bread, which is smothered with butter is taken a bite out of. She even put butter in her honey porridge. Intitiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 Being more alert than others helped. At the crashing sound, she yelps and drops her spoon. It, unfortunately, sinks into her porridge quickly. This causes Elann to turn to see what is happening. From what she can see, there are imps absconding with books, so she bosses the party. "To your feet, fight!" She will quickly get up from her booth and will even leap off the table to get to the door before these imps can. There, she will block their exit. Move action: Stand up; Move Action: Moving to the doorway.

Just curious, are we still shooting for 1 post per day? GM, what are your intention with posting rate? You seemed slightly lax on this, but I'd like to shoot for us to hit your mentioned target, or at least realistically every few days as posts consecutively come in one after another. That would include a post from you encouraging the game to move forward or to add additional details of what we see. That said, I think more frequent narration once, we've all posted once would be appreciated by me. I am unsure if you are busy or waiting. I feel strange posting again and again without GM direction on what NPCs are doing and I don't want to assume or overstep the bounds of my character. I guess what I'm saying is, let's have some more communication on where you stand with posting rate. If you are waiting for something. If others are waiting for something or just busy in your own lives? Communication helps keep the game flowing and going! :)

"Of course I will have to wait for breakfast. And maybe a second breakfast if we have a chance! Who knows when we will get such luxury wherever we are sent." She sighs wistfully in thought. "Maybe I will be sent to a far-off land? Maybe to one I've been to before. My father used to take us on merchant trips throughout all of Avistan and Osirion when I was little." She does her best to hide her internal pain at the thought of it "I doubt it...," she answers Amrus. "You are right. Five of us for one delivery? No, it must be multiple...," she mocks. Then, considering the latter, if they are indeed all sent on the same mission, that changes things. In a quick announcement in a lower voice, she adds, "Although, maybe we, shouldn't talk about such things in open public places...," she considers as she looks around as her voice trails off. "Why don't you join us here Amrus?" Having seen him take a seat at the bar while the rest of them are at the indicated table bothered her minorly. "No need to be by yourself. Cozy up, shield-friend. You're part of our team now." She will playfully loop an armored arm over Boram and D'witt's shoulders and lightly shakes them to the left and right. She is not hard to resist as she's not overly strong.

"That's kind of you," Elann comments to Dwitt as he insists on helping. Upon seeing it, she will also want to get up and help, but there is nothing more to do. When Dwitt finally moves over to the table, she nods to his words. "I would not have slept at all either! This was a much better way of finding out." She glances to the men who were recruiting. "It seems like there is trouble all over the place." She then pulls out her letter again and rereads the place they are to meet. "'...Find Maester Braendar StoneShield in the forge along the west wall.' This is all of your tasks, yes?" she inquires curiously. If most nod, she will then continue. "I think I know where that is. Do we all want to travel there together as a party?" she asks brightly, as if it was their first chance to travel as a unit for real.

It was not late into the night that Elann celebrated. In fact, one could call it quite early. Not that she wasn't social or rejected a good ale or three, but for some unknown reason, she went to bed earlier than most. Morning:
Elann rose, and far before she noticed any letter, she sat on her bed and prayed in devotion to Bes. In a quiet voice, she sang and even in time, danced in the privacy of her room. It was then that she noticed the letter.
"Hmmm?" she inquires and shuffles over sleepily to the folded letter. After picking it up, she takes it and opens it. In the dim light of day, she tries to read the foreign tongue. She has the knowledge of common, but sometimes, for a foreigner, and especially in the early morning, it is hard to get her brain to churn fast enough to read non-Osirian writings. "A mission! So soon!" she hums in appreciation to herself. Elann looks around the room at the tiny, cramped place they housed her and she thinks back to her home on the shores of the lake, with a nice big bed once shared with Noah. This is different, and it hurts her heart, but at the same time, she is filled with purpose. That morning, she will get dressed in full armor and weaponry. It still takes her a bit but eventually as the sun rises, she will make it downstairs. Before she does, she packs away her things, including the letter. Striding into the meeting hall will be a young Osirion female. She has cute cheeks and big alert eyes. Over her beautiful lamellar leather armor and armored skirt is a warm-looking, grey, alpaca robe with a hood. A large pack is slung on the short human's shoulder. On it are a buckler and crossbow. She appears ready for battle and the pack itself seems exceedingly heavy for the young girl, but she manages it. Despite looking ready for war, she is beautiful and clearly wide awake. There are eye-catching gold ribbons laced into her hair, a silver holy symbol, and a decorative tiara of Orsirion origin on her forehead--as if she herself were not eye-catching enough. Some of the few patrons in the room may even look up with jaws agape before continuing to eat. Her features are feminine, unweathered, and unscarred, which stands out among the crowd here--even if there is little to see of her features other than her face. It takes her a moment to sort out the voices in the room from the stairs, but when she does, she hears someone talking about gold, demons, and the Tanglebriar. She observes the human and elf for a second as she makes her way further into the room. She prays their mission is a success. She isn't in this for the coin, but understands desperation. Such things are all distracting her though and she shakes the thoughts of them from her mind so that she can ready herself for what is to come. At the offer of a welcome and coffee, she smiles brightly to Hannah. "Thank you. And as for a drink, why, yes, it is my tradition," she answers regarding the coffee in her Osirion accent. "Coffee, please, with some sugar, milk, and cinnamon if you have it." With that, she will take her seat at last with the others. "Good morning, my friends," she quietly exclaims as she deposits the heavy pack at her feet and sits with the direction from Hannah. Clearly their superior spoke to her to deliver the letters and to group them together this morning. The group can see her armband is proudly displayed for all to see, and Boram would not have seen her until this moment, but he got his wish; the adorably eyed, sunshine-ray-kind-of-cheery girl sits next to him and joins his party. "I see some had rougher nights than others," she smiles slyly at the sleepy looks of some of the others at the table.

Thanks for the acceptance. So to be clear, no posting in the RP forum yet? It was intense to know that she'd be filling the shoes of Noah. He had gone missing for nearly a year now. Surely dead. Her mourning had passed and she determined to take his place. More than that, she actually passed. As the words of Alinnawas reach across the bar, she blushes greatly on her soft suntanned cheeks. The trials were over. Elann had shed the covering armor she had worked so hard in during the day and now is getting a drink. For those who saw the furiously fighting Osirian woman in battle earlier that day, they would not suspect her to be so curvaceous, petite, and skinny. The armor added much to her bulk. She comes off now as adorable, not as a death-dealer. Alinnawas was correct though. On her arm, she still wears the sigil band of her success. It doesn't look very fashionable with such a nice, form-fitting black dress, but she was proud of her new mark. She also wears a thin fashionable belt at the hip--leaning slightly downward on the right side--with her cestus and a money pouch there on her right. A holy symbol hangs about her neck on a metal chain and rests above her bosom. The symbol seems to be polished silver and is quite brilliant in the light of the fireplace. The god may not be easily recognized in this region of the world. Perhaps dwarves may recognize it as a symbol of Bes. Knowledge: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 |
