Thank you so much for running this. It was an excellent romp for Eiju's first time out. I had a lot of fun for a thrown together quickly character.

Thanks to the players who also helped make this a grand experience.

Eiju shrugs, "I have little trust for either and no wish to choose. Do as you will as long as it does not jeopardize our mission. Completing our mission in a timely fashion is what I care about."

The kitsune is tired and desperate as they look for a way to help.

Eiju peers ahead, desperately trying to find a way to improve their chances.

Eiju summons the last of their magical energy to reach into another dimension. What they really want is to pull through a solid stone wall as a barrier but the best the can manage is a tall, thick kelp forest planted into the tide pools, hoping to slow down the waters progression just a tiny amount.

I put some additional rounds of actions under spoilers as I do not want time zones (or family drama) to slow us down. GM bigboom, feel free to apply them in a different order if it seems more appropriate.

If Token Spell or Phychokinetic Hand would be at all useful then I am happy to contribute, possibly as an aid to Sleight of Hand. I am untrained in the listed skills for this challenge.

Eiju tries to gather heat again to send it toward the crab.

Then the kitsune moves away to allow others to close if they want and to ensure they stay out of range of the attacker.

Apparently they should have waited for everything to warm up a bit before trying again. Sigh.

Eiju moves toward the creature, gathering in heat from all those near as they pass. They then look at the crab, shouting "Get back and leave us be!" as they reach out, venting the heat toward it.

Eiju sees another creature approaching, threatening to flank the group. The kitsune calls out a warning to their companions then uses all their focus and concentration to reach through the spacetime continuum to direct their favoured microscopic needles toward the creature.

Eiju, despite Dr Mekkisan's stated informality, tries to maintain a respectful and dignified demeanour, though they find it difficult and have limited success. The kitsune does ensure that the brenneri siblings travelling with them have a chance to chat with Kyefi.

"Datch is an interesting character. It is she who sent us here, to retrieve an important item."

Eiju dashes forward to take cover from but be in a position to shoot their chosen combatant. Peering around the corner they raise their pistol and fire.

Eiju tries to quickly assess the situation. There is one enemy more distant than the others so the kitsune focuses on that creature while reaching with their mind to channel through the space-time continuum. They reach through and send a blast of microscopic needles into the unsuspecting ysoki. (orange)

When they reach the front desk, Eiju tries to maintain a grave and scholarly demeanour while they respond, "I believe we may need to consult with the Grand Librarian, Rethra, if she is available. We are here on a sensitive assignment."

Firstly, stay safe Ozrim. You are in a much worse situation than me.

Next, apologies to all. I have been dealing with a family emergency and ongoing situation. I am temporarily back in the land of intermittent power and even more intermittent internet. It almost seems that we are guaranteed to lose power if I try and look at my games.

Storms are rolling through, so it is likely to be this way for a bit.

I'll try my best to catch up and stay with you.

Eiju quickly consults with Celly. Nodding toward their hirelings she asks,"Do you think these two can quickly construct some kind of bridge we can use?"

Back. Exhausted but home.

The kitsune and brenneri poke around, trying to find anything of interest. All the while they are grumbling and the rest of the party occasionally catch words in common like "static" and "fur".

One of the brenneri finagles open the draw of the desk then hands something to Eiju.

Eiju holds up a small device and calls out, "Hey, we may have found the only useful and working object in this entire disaster." level 4 signal jammer

When the group reaches the split in the road, the newly formed trio starts looking around for solutions.

If the party decides on another approach, please bot to assist or attempt a skill as appropriate.

I will be travelling for the next few days with limited online access. I should be able to check-in at least once per day but feel free to bot as necessary.

As Eiju arrives at the dock to board their transport, the others notice two brenneri accompanying them. One is clearly focused on the output of a screen, mere centimetres from their eyes, the other is chittering at them and tugging them around.

During the voyage to Nemenar, Eiju informs the others, "I met these two when I was searching for a specific conditioner." Eiju gestures to their luxuriant fur as they speak. "We ended up in a long conversation and it turns out they are siblings and interested in adventure but not ready to commit to the Society. I said they could tag along and be useful but they had to promise to stay away from any danger that may show itself."

Two Basic Hireling boons purchased with AcP, Tech Support and Medic. Only one can be slotted, probably Tech Support to aid the other Hireling with Computer checks, but I thought I'd ask the team first.

When their ground transportation arrives, the kitsune is visibly impressed and settles back to enjoy the ride. Eiju makes sure to collect three pair of goggles, though the brenneri decline, indicating they don't need them.

Back on the ship, Eiju shares that they noted, "The officials recorded our images and names in a marked file. I really don't like that, though I have no idea what it all means."

Oof! That is a powerful cursehack. The other time I came across one it started in one item and spread rather than infecting everything at once.

Eiju peers over Celly's shoulder to take a look.

"Yeah, I like a variety of music, depends on my mood. This group is known for always having 13 tracks on their albums. So that 14th track is probably what we are looking for." The kitsune takes note of the title, vengeance.unreleased, making sure to imprint it in their memory as well as record it elsewhere.

Eiju happily takes part in the games and tries not to express disappointment at their educational nature.

The kitsune is oblivious to the conversations around them or anything other than completing the game they started.

Happy to have changed characters to allow us to play lower level but I've been missing those extra skills.

Eiju bounces a bit, moving slowly toward the corridor they were directed to take, all the while excitedly prattling.

"Ooh, they have leaks in the structure and it is already affecting their tech. What system do you think will start glitching next?"

Goals: be a distraction to anyone observing; continue to plant seeds of doubt so that anything we affect may be attributed to other causes.

If possible while doing so, Eiju weaves a Detect Magic spell, hoping to discover anything useful.

One point I missed. A life science or physical science check can be used in place of the bluff, diplomacy or intimidate check to recall some bit of information that can be used to talk, lie, beg, plead, threaten your way out of the situation. The DC in this case is actually a bit lower and if anyone goes this route, it'll be interesting to see what you come up with!

Eiju looks around desperately trying to find anything that could assist them.

Eiju observes what Max is doing and joins in the attempt to distract guides and guards.

Looking slightly frazzled, their fur still matted in places after the long delay, Eiju follows along in uncharacteristic silence, looking closely at every computer monitor for any sign of a demonic screensaver.

The kitsune takes their place in line to approach the Customs station, looking around with curiosity at all things. When it is their turn, Eiju states in an excited voice, "Name, Eiju. This is my first assignment, some sort of courier run, to collect something for some corporation or other." The truth as they understand it.

This is a hastily constructed, experimental character so I hope it works.

The new arrival definitely looks fresh out of the Starfinder Academy. An aura of excitement and nervousness precedes them as they arrive. Vulpine features and fur are their most noticeable attributes.
