Thanks for running, EF--this was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about how best to run an AP on the boards. Argust, I'm with you--I'm going to miss this game. It's too bad Tek and Ziz couldn't be there at the finish, though. Thanks for stepping striding in, Bold Strider. Trying to run both Karn and Brelar would have been too much.

And I screwed up with the previous spell, and may have screwed up with this one. Since Brelar only has a lesser rod, it wouldn't have worked with fire snake (L5 spell). So it would have done fire damage instead of electrical damage. Also, do you use the spell level post-maximize to determine whether the rod will work?

If it's a book graveknight, I think you have to make a caster level check to get the spell off. They're nasty. Also, botting Brelar:

Brelar can do something about the fire damage it's inflicting, at least. Bert still has an undead bane weapon, but mixing it up with the giant is probably a bad idea--his AC is worse than Argust's, and he couldn't survive a full attack sequence (even with fire resistance).

Get a clear spindle ioun stone and slot it into your wayfinder. The resonant power is kind of like protection from evil in how it blocks mental control effects.
