Edmond takes a five foot step away from the Pyropiscus near him, and casts a spell defensively, unsure of the creature's reach.

Targeting the dragon, he uses his last Dispel Magic in an attempt to dispel the Mirror Image on the dragon, softening it up for Grymm and Yolanda to lay into the creature.

So if the dragon's CL for mirror image is 15 or less, then the mirror image is dispelled. Fingers crossed, Edmond needs something to go right for him this fight.

Hey guys I'm going up north into the Alaskan Mountains for a week, roughly 10/25 to 11/3. I should have intermittent signal up there, really only out of commission the 29-30-01.

Scorched from the lava breath spewing from the maw of the dragon, Edmond feels most of protection from energy nearing the end of its charge. Moving to the right to get a clear a shot and still holding his Metamagic Rod of Cold in his hand he channels the energy into a spell, unleashing a crackling, screaming icy lightning bolt,

Metamagicing my Empowered Lightning Bolt, while in a 5th level spell slot, the spell is still considered a 3rd level spell and uses my 3rd level spell DC's. So I'm using a charge of my metamagic rod to turn it into a Cold, Empowered Lightning Bolt.

with Heroism I make my will save, so Edmond isn’t shaken at least.

Shaken by watching the savage dragon's ferocity as it tears into Yolanda, Edmond's legs tremble a bit as he tries to stamp down the fear rising inside him.

Seeing no other option as the Lavafish and the Dragon are so spread out, Edmond moves forward 30 feet, standing between Xenovia and Yolanda. "Sorry Grymm, hang in there for a little bit longer,"

Edmond casts Haste, getting Himself, Yolanda, Xenovia and Eclipse with the quickening magic.

Haste , 13 rounds. I gotta say, I wasn't prepared for us to start off fighting this nasty of a Dragon. Had definitely prepped a more eclectic collection of spells.

Trying to dispel the invisibility, DC is 11 + spells caster level. I'm very confident my 14 doesn't do the trick.

Yeah Haste won't work, I was hoping to cast it when the group is closer together. Right now with how the group is positioned and the 10 foot squares we are occupying I could either get me and Yolanda or Xenovia/Eclipse and Grymm. Was hoping next round maybe we all get closer together and I can get the whole group. Yeah forgot about your Resist Energy when I switched from Acid to Fire. Was just trying to post quickly.

Additionally I can Enlarge both Yolanda and Grymm, I know it'd make them easier to hit but it would give them a little extra reach against the Dragon"

See invisibility is unfortunately a Personal Spell so I can't cast it on you, same with Arcane Sight, I can give you True Seeing, it only lasts 13 minutes though.

Looking around the room, nodding to Grymm, "If she's invisible, I'll see her, hopefully, I may not be that perceptive but I'm sure I'd see a big red dragon lurking about, invisible or not," he says with a chuckle. "I can always send a magical sensor down there, a quick Arcane Eye'd be able to zip down, It can go into the lava but if she is lurking there I might be able to pick her up,"

Edmond, growls angirly at getting nipped in the butt by an unruly young red dragon, though realizing the dangers of the two of them so close will engulf the two dragons in his most powerful cone of cold, hoping to finish them off before the group is overwhelmed.

The two new comer dragons need to make reflex saves DC 24 or take 76 points of cold damage, likely a little more as we know they are vulnerable to cold

Harrumphing, he then clicks his heels together, activating his Jaunt Boots and teleports behind Yolanda, damn near back where he started.

Didn't want to have to use my empowered cone of cold already, but 5 young dragons I feel like can really risk us getting overwhelmed, especially being a bit seperated. Hopefully this doesnt turn out to be a mistake.

Edmond grumbles as the red dragon's fly out of the gold coins shaking his head, "Typical vain glorious upstarts," shouting to his companions, "These are a couple of young'uns but take 'em seriously, we might as well kiss this fire protection goodbye!"

Edmond weaves his new Staff of Frost, the diamond glinting in the sunlight as we casts a spell from it, pointing it at the red dragons, and a massive blast of ice and cold spew forth in a 60 foot cone hitting the far two right dragons with an icy blast.

Edmond then moves toward the dead fire giant, hugging the wall to put some more range between him and the dragons.

I'll be honest, I keep forgetting about the Wolf

Edmond, taking a couple breaths to recover himself after stretching his magical abilities to the max and then offers a quick prayer to Nethys in thanks for the divine aid, before saying "These. . . . Phew, These Giants have some sort of Fiendish or Diabolic influence,"

He takes a step back, behind Xeonvia and reaches out to touch her Wolf, Eclipse, giving it his Diviner's Fortune, "Give 'em hell, pup"

Eclipse has a +6 insight bonus to Attack, Saving Throws, Skill and Ability checks for 1 round.

Playing it safe for now, still wanting to feel out the relative strength of these giants before breaking out the spells.

I thought we would wait for the resist energies until we had exhausted the Protections because they don’t stack, I was also gonna caste Haste once we entered combat officially, that way we aren’t wasting any rounds. I also only have the one prepared so we might save it for a potentially bigger fight. I imagine I’ll be changing my spells around big time once we get into the thick of things and I can get a better idea of what we are up against.

Hey also for what it counts, I did know Cone of Cold, just hadn't prepared it so I switched my empower Fire snake for Empowered Cone of Cold.

I did swap my rod of enlarge for a rod of elemental cold.

Yeah teleport probably won't work to get there, I think I was thinking of greater teleport. We can fly with wind walk, or if that doesn't work, Gerald the Raven could fly to the mountain, I can look through his eyes at a suitable location and then teleport us that way. Would be like a 75% chance of succeeding!

Edmond's capabilities rely more on scouting and ways to make you guys better.

He only has a few actual damaging spells, the rest is focused on scout, area denial and buffs.

For damage, its your typical Fireballs, Burning Arcs, Empowered Lightning Bolts, Chain Lightnings, Empowered Fire Snake.

For Scouting I have stuff like: Arcane Eye, Detect Secret Doors, Extended Greater Invisibility and my familiar a Raven Gerald that I can see through his eyes, communicate with telepathic/empathically and scry on as well.

For buffs, I have your usually, Haste, True Seeing, Resist Energy/Prot from Energy, See Invisibility,

As far as accommodations go, I know Tiny Hut and Rope Trick and Secure Cottage . I know neither of those are a magnificent mansion but theres only 4 of us.

Yeah after re reading your post, I initially thought it said Core Only, so I went with bog standard Human Wizard!

Realizing now today it says Core Races only. Either way, it still stands, he isn't a total blaster Wiz, going with the standard Divination School. I read the AP's product page, guess its just a big dungeon crawl so maybe Evocation would have been better bet but sometimes I like challenging the mold a bit.


I'd throw a Human wizard into the mix, Edmond Wynston, interested in the further studying of the ancient Giant civilizations. Studious and professorial he is willing to dive in the depths of the Giant's Lair for authentic details to include in his thesis for the University in Absalom.

Not the most original character I know but I think could roleplay easily and provide a useful service to the group and the adventure.

I have like an 75% complete character I just built for him in his alias profile. Would still need to put finishing touches like items, skills, spells.
