It's really interesting to see how 2nd edition lore is handling death and resurrection as a much more common experience than I remember. I'm reading through the Pathfinder Society book right now (which is awesome), and there's quite a lot of resurrection these days. One dude even apparently just gets eaten fairly often.
That's not a criticism, it's just interesting that we're in a setting where people can go, "oh yeah, I died a few times, but no big."

I mostly play the regular Paizo APs in Golarion and very rarely some PFS here and there. I noticed the Society is basically a non-factor outside of PFS modules, which makes it really difficult to incorporate them into other Adventures in Golarion.

As it is, it's very difficult to have an AP player character belong to the society, as it'd just overcomplicate party dynamics. This means the PFS have to be used as NPCs, possibly antagonists. Maybe that's something we'll see in the future? Gotta think of some ideas where any of this lore and options would be relevant to players outside of Organized Play.

Really? I've been playing a Pathfinder Agent for years in four different campaigns, and it's never been any more difficult to fit in than any other PC's organizational alliances. In fact, some were even more difficult to fit in! A red mantis assassin, or a Hellknight have much more rigid guidelines than a Pathfinder. Ultimately, for me, it ends up being a source for the GM to give us quests and info, some supplies, and for me to occasionally have characterful role-plays with. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk more about this.

Anywho, as I said, I've been playing a Pathfinder Agent in a home game for years and years, so I'm bursting with excitement for this book! The changes over the years have been a little hard for me to follow since I don't play PFS, so I'm excited to have it all in one place. I also reference Seekers of Secrets basically monthly, so I'm sure this will have plenty more for me to gawk at.

I! AM! SO! EXCITED! FOR! THIS!

I've been wanting to play / run in Mwangi for years now. I felt there was so much to be explored and so many stories to be told, especially about the Mgaambya. My current game has my Pathfinder Agent returning a Mgaambyan shield found in Osirion to Nantambu, and we're sort of doing it in parallel with Serpent's Skull. Most of the reason I convinced my GM to do this campaign was so I, playing as an ethnographer pathfinder, could explore those stories and hear about the people's lives as they tell it to me. I cannot overstate how happy I am that I'll get to finish Serpent's Skull and then swing back around to do Strength of Thousands!

I think this is the first one that shows an event from an adventure. I really like that aspect of it.

One question: what were the cards in the reading? I count the Midwife, Big Sky, the Brass Dwarf, the Carnival, the Demon's Lantern and the Tangled Briar. That leaves three.

Which path?

As an anthropology student, this post has genuinely gotten me misty-eyed. I've spent over a decade using role-playing games to express and represent cultures past, present, and novel, and my long-running PC is a pathfinder, anthropologist, and archaeologist above all else. This is exactly the kind of game I want to play. Honestly, thank you.

Love it. Keep it coming.

The guards are decidedly not good guys. This is sort of the material plane hell you send aweful people to so they can be tortured and kept by much more aweful people. The devil's keeping them locked up, but he's not a great guy. A lot of experimentation and torture happens.

The person they're after knows too much about the kings of many nations in a time of mass assassinations. Although the Pc's wont know until later, all of the major countries donated time and effort to have him arrested. He's not actually a bad guy, just has far too much bardic knowledge.

I'm a Dm and i'm going to be sending the party into a prison to break someone out. They are 13th level, a rogue, fighter, and bard. I'd like to ask for some ideas on what to put in the prison. A bit about what i've got so far:

The prison is run by all an independant unit but houses all of the worlds most vile beings, from common race mass murderers to Illithids, to Giant undead dragons and gargantuan abberations. No one leaves. Ever. It's flavor is that of Alkatraz, Arkham, Azkaban, and The Tower of Latria (demon's souls). A really grimy, gritty, haunted and insane place. It's run by a beholder, with common race guards, Wraiths under control, and The Warden, who's a human assassin bounty hunter type. The idea is for this to be a complex of challenges for the players, and as such, there is no flying, and all of the prison cells are enchanted to make the prisoners speak gibberish.

The problem i'm having is simply filling rooms. I just dont know what to do with all of the space a prison might have and still keep each place original.

I had an interesting idea for a character who would be all about money, but i cant quite flesh it out. I in no way want to have a rich character, that's important, just someone who... understands the magic of the coin. In a world where value of anything gives it power, the object (coin) on which all of life is sustained has to have a significant amount of power. Almost divine. Let me give you a couple of examples of what i'd like him to do.

-He'd be a mercenary fighter. This doesnt really limit me though, as our group is small and used to multi-classing or making items that essentially let us cross abilities.
-He'd drop two copper near anyone he killed for the boatman.
-He'd have a Final Fantasy style Coin Toss ability: The more money he gets rid of, the more damage the attack does. Possibly just a multi-tiered "magic-coin-missile" ability.
-He'd have a lucky coin - maybe reroll one check or save a day.

Get where i'm going with this? Things we already associate with money or coins taken to a fantasy level. Do you have any more ideas i can add on?
