I beleive taking 10 or 20 on a roll is gone

So looking to run "Ironfang Invasion" AP as intro in Second edition...there is interest in playing goblins and bring about change :) I did receive the physical books from my subscription (been poring through them) but it seems the "Troop" mechanic is not really available yet. Any idea how to handle this in Second Edition? Thanks in advance for any help
