"More traps and trickery. Can we use this to our advantage? Maybe take out a few lizard people, even the numbers up? If not, I'd say we break it and move on."

Durnik moves to the corner and takes up a guard position.

"I doubt it, my lucks not that good today."

Durnik tries again, with even greater effort.

Use hero point if possible

Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

"Here goes nothing!"

Durnik leans back and delivers a massive kick to the wall.

Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

"Ugh, that is embarrassing."

"I bet we can bust through that wall, if we wanted. Down the stairs is anyones guess what's down there. I'm game, either way, plenty of kobold skulls to crack yet."

Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Durnik sucks a chunk of phlegm through his nose and lets loose a disgusting spitwad back at the smelly lizard person.

"More lizard people? These can't be the same kind as those kobolds, right?"

He delivers an overhand blow with his hammer at the blue trig.

strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 to hit for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 damage

Following up after that wild swing, he brings the weapon back around.

strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 to hit for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 damage

Raising his shield, he stares at the foes with narrowed eyes.

"Whoa, we have magic powers from these orb-ball things? That's pretty crazy, right? I mean, flying and being strong as the earth? Wow."

Durnik spends a few minutes looking around the room, inspecting for hidden doors or compartments, then looks at his blackened and damaged shield.

"I guess I'm gonna have to get this repaired or replaced sooner or later. Makes sense why so many of my teachers suggested wooden shields, they're easier to get hands on."

Durnik hits the ground and rolls over, putting out the flames surrounding him.

"Damn, that was unpleasant. And it burned up my shield all black and carbonized. Ugh."

Standing up and wiping soot, mud, blood, and grime off himself, Durnik turns to the others.

"So...balls of the elements? What in the world do we do with balls of the elements?"

Durnik takes the brunt of the fire rats bite on his shield, unhappy to see the scorch marks and streaks of blue running through its temper.

"Thanks, Ursk! Maybe I can kill it now!"

Flat 5: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Strike!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 to hit, for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Bludgeoning
Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

He repeats his prior action, swinging wildly before swiping off the burning bits of his clothes, and raising his shield again

Flat 15: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Durnik brings his shield up to ward off the first blow, getting covered in ash and flame as he does.

Using shield Block to ward off 5 of the initial hit, leaving the shield with 15 go and Durnik with 11.

Flat 5: 1d20 ⇒ 17
Strike!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 to hit for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 damage.

He then positions his shield to block further attacks before stomping and swatting at his smouldering clothing.

Strike, raise shield, extinguish flames

"Of course, it's rats. It's always rats in the basements. Of course, this one is on fire, so that's new."

Durnik moves up and swings at the flaming rat with his hammer.

Fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Toughing out the smoke and ash, he brings the weapon down hard.

Flat 5: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Strike!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

He brings his shield up to protect from the inevitable counterattack.

"Fair enough. I guess there are some more monsters and lizard people waiting to ambush us."

Durnik raises his shield and readies his hammer, taking position behind Horst.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

"More barricades means more of the walking dead? I didn't do so great last time we tangled with those things.

Durnik secures one of the swords to his belt then nods towards Dragh.

"Sounds good to me. Let's keep going."

"Dumb move, now you get your head bashed in."

Durnik steps up and swings his hammer down.

Strike!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage

He rolls his wrist and comes around with the backhand.

Strike!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 damage

Sorry, on mobile. I believe 2strides should get me right up on the kobold.

"More of these little lizard people, eh? I guess we'll have to put these ones down, too."

Durnik strides forward and unleashes a blow with his hammer.

Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 damage

I mean, I have no intention of playing a character in PFS2E other than this PC. I tried to register Durnik but it says I'm already using that name so...

No worries I'll skip the pfs credit I guess

I have a pfs # from way back when.

Honestly I haven't even kept up with it for forever.

How do I get a # for this PC? Or is attached to me somehow?

"You those this fate, I feel no joy in telling you."

Durnik swings on the flanked kobold with his hammer.

Strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 to hit for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 damage

Durnik moves up and attempts to force his way though the kobolds space on the stairway.

"Yield and surrender, you don't need to die here, lizard person."

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 vs Reflex DC

"You're not getting away that easily, lizard person!"

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage

Durnik steps around Dragh and moves up to engage with the remaining kobold on the steps.

"Looks like you trapped yourself, lizard person. Surrender now or we'll be forced to slay you like the others."

Strike!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21 to hit, for Bludgeoning: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 damage

Figure you meant Durnik & Horst. 2 Strides, Strike with warhammer. Shield is in hand but not raised ATM.

Durnik moves to stand the line with his dwarven comrades, bringing his warhammer to bear on the kobold in front of him.

Attack!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 to hit, for Bludgeon: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage

Attack!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 to hit, for Bludgeon: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 damage

"Stupid lizard monsters, why'd you hafta go and cause trouble down here?"

"Yeah, they must not be too smart...dwarves getting called surface dwellers?"

Durnik barks a laugh as he comments in dwarven.

Durnik moves forward and takes cover against the pillar, shield raised and ready.

Durnik yanks on the lever, then moves over with Horst, shield and sword at the ready.

"Good thinking, let's do this!"

Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Durnik looks over the lever after Horst gives the all clear.

"Hmm...what in the world is this supposed to do?"

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

"Perhaps you'd like to use this sword, Horst? It should make it easier to land those flanked attacks."

Durnik looks past the cage and stands ready for more lizard people fish thieves to appear.

AoO: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 to hit, for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 damage

Drawing out his new shield, Durnik raises it to ward off the stabs from the kobolds, then lashes out again with his hammer.

Smash: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 to hit, for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 damage

"Get 'em, Horst! Stab the little lizard jerks!"

Action to ready shield, action to raise it, action to swing. Will use shield block if I get hit again.

Durnik, armed with his bow, looses a shaft at the closest kobold.

Shoot: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 to hit for piercing: 1d6 ⇒ 3 damage

Seeing his shot go wide, he moves up and readies his warhammer, standing next to Ursk

"Should've shot them in the back while they didn't see us. Oh well..."

Durnik grumbles as the kobolds move to attack.

"Whelp, do I go out and try to intimidate them? Or do we snipe from hiding and take them out without hesitation?"

Durnik draws an arrow and lays it across the string, ready to fire if the others give him the go ahead.

Durnik remains near the entrance, bow at the ready.

He whispers to the others, "So, what do we do? I can try to scare them into giving up, but who knows if they even speak Common or Dwarven. And I'm pretty confident I don't speak lizard person."

"Call me superstitious, but I would rather not take a magical bowl from a room full of slime and rot and a potentially angry sea god. Maybe we leave it and if we have to get healed up we can try and drink the water then."

"Uh...this room looks weird. There's a strange squid statue thing and the whole place is full of slime and scum. There's a bowl in front of the statue, but that thing looks like it hasn't been touched by the rot."

"Flying fish thieves? Before yesterday,I'd say you're drunk. After seeing the dead walk and almost claw my face off, who knows, right?"

Durnik touches his new scars briefly, then sets about climbing up the wall.

Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

At the top,he secures a rope and turns to help anyone else climb up.

Question: am I still wounded 1 and down HP? Or does a night's rest restore my health?

With the treasure in hand, Durnik goes looking for more protective gear. Specifically, a warhammer and a shield. If he is able to acquire them with the loot this far, he does so. If not, he continues to carry the shortsword and fancy shield found below, purchasing a sheath for the blade.

"We will certainly clear the area down below, but those walking skeletons really did a number on my face. If we could have pressed on, we would have."

"I found that potion of healing earlier. Should I drink it? I feel pretty well beat up right now."

Durnik touches his face and shoulders where the claws left gouges, wincing as his hand comes away sticky with blood.

"And we should probably get cleaned up proper like. No telling what kind of illness Ill contract with open wounds in a crypt housing the walking dead. By the way,how about I hold onto that shield? Sure could have been useful back in that fight with the skeleton monsters."

I vote retreat and regroup, then head back after a rest.

Recovery: 1d20 ⇒ 5 vs DC 12

Durnik begins bleeding badly

Feeling the energy radiate off the cleric, Durnik grins and swings his shorter blade at the undead.

"Its good to be fighting side by side with other dwarves!"

Swing!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 vs Zombie

Swing!2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 vs Yellow

Swing!3: 1d20 ⇒ 17 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 vs Yellow (or Blue if Yellow is destroyed)

Durnik moves forward and slashes down at the yellow skeleton with the new shortsword.

"Guess it's a good thing this blade didn't have a sheath with it."

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 to hit for Piercing/Slashing: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

"The walking dead? I've heard tales, but I always figured it was too much drink or a desire for the dramatic!"

"Quietly? Not really my kinda work, most days. I can bring the boards down, but I'd probably make a bunch of noise doing so."

[b]"If there's movement behind the barricade, whoever pit it up was trying to keep it on that side of it. Maybe we check out the tunnel before we rip it down?"[\b]

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Durnik rummages around and comes up with the dessicated remains of...something. Holding aloft the blade and potion vial, he looks to the others.

"Found a sword and a potion. Anyone need it?"

Approaching the barricade, he peers it over.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

"What do you all think? Do we go through the blockade or up the passageway?"

"Figured there's spiders. Webs, spiders, it just makes sense "

Durnik drops his bow and draws his greatsword, slashing down at the arachnid in a smooth motion.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 to hit, for Slashing: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12 damage

Free Action: drop bow. 1 Action: Draw weapon. 2 Action: power attack.

"Webs mean spiders, no? I mean, I guess something else could've done it but usually webs mean spiders."

Durnik moves into the webs and begins clearing a path, bow in one hand and sticky webbing in the other.

"All right, lads. I'm gonna leave the rope, in case we need tomcome back this way."

Durnik stows his bow and climbs down with the others.

Athletics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Handily making it down, he draws out his bow again and steps behind Horst.

"Lead on, if you will."

"Okay, who's next? I'll take up the rear."

Durnik sheathes his sword and draws out his bow. Moving up to the edge of the drop-off,he scans the area for dangers.

"I'll cover you while you descend. No telling what else is down here."
