Male Human Fighter 6

Innteresting....:
Duglan slowly steps back away from Alaba (Move to E-2). He readies an action to power attack Alaba if she makes an aggressive move towards himself, Velinari, or any other ally that enters the room.

Male Human Fighter 6

Inn:
Duglan can only watch in awe as Alaba's corpse absolutely mutilates Gordel.

Sense Motive:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Do I think Alaba has any intentions of attacking us, or is she still going to town on Gordel?

I probably have no idea!

Male Human Fighter 6

Inn:
Duglan snaps out of the unnatural fear that had claimed him to stand up and draw his fauchard. "Awww. I sees yer back fer some more," he quips as he steps forward (to the square 1 north of his current position) and takes a swing at the corpse.

Power Attack:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

I had been sitting at the bar, so I don't know if I need to take a move action to stand up from prone. If so, then disregard the attack (It's very likely going to miss anyways)

Male Human Fighter 6

Welcome back :) Glad to hear that you're feeling better

Back at the Inn:
The others gone from the inn, Duglan sits back down on a nearby stool, puts his feet up on the table, and sets down his fauchard. He lets out a heavy sigh of relief and says, "Dun think she'll be movin anneh time soon. Yannow, with 'er head off an all that. Well, we've got some time ta kill. An I know I'm not the onleh one who could use some ale right about now." He stretches impatiently.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan grunts, "Awrite. I'll stay. But the Father betta relleh put 'er ta rest this time."

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan unceremoniously spits out some blood onto the corpse. He seems somewhat relieved to be able to speak out loud again. "Nezessery? Yeh bet yer ass it was nezessery. Tha b#@&@ was tryna kill meh an tha resta us."

He then takes a step towards Gordel, finger pointed accusedly. "You. Yeh got anneh reason fer why yer daughter would come back from th'dead hopin to bring yeh to the grave along wit th'rest of us?"

Having spoken his mind, he reaches at his belt for a small vial, uncaps it, and chokes down its contents.
Lesser Vigor ==> Over the next 11 rounds, Duglan is healed from 24 to 35 HP

Male Human Fighter 6

Oh, whoops. I didn't see the <<We are here>> thing. Disregard my previous post

Male Human Fighter 6

Well, despite all of this, Duglan is going to keep on swinging, because why not? Hoping for some kind of massive damage b*#!@~~!, or tons of crits, etc.

Power attack!

Attack 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24
Damage 1:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Damage 2:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27

Male Human Fighter 6

Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Hooooooo boy

In the heat of the battle, Duglan experiences a troubling thought. "Sumthins wrong."

DM:
Okay. So, to clarify what you mean, do you mean that A) there are no wounds left on her person, B) that they are present but she is ignoring them despite the fact that they have damaged her, C) or that the wounds we have inflicted have had no effect on her whatsoever? ANSWER IF YOU DARE :)

Male Human Fighter 6

HP: 24/47

Duglan brushes himself off and turns to face Alaba. (Am I prone right now from being thrown? If so, move action to stand up. If not, full power attack.)

Attack 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Damage 1:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage 2:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

If attack 2 isn't applicable, don't count it :)

Also, I just noticed that my fauchard may be on the ground. If that is the case, I will grab it for the move action.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan musters up his strength once again to shake out of the grapple.

CMB:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13

...but is unsuccessful

Male Human Fighter 6

34/47 HP, while grappled, 10/14 Dex

Duglan attempts to take advantage of the sudden opening that Harris provides for him.
Escape Artist:1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 2 - 2 = 18

This fails. Duglan struggles to get out of the grapple by brute force.
CMB:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Sadly, this does not work as well. Duglan gets the sense that if he had pushed "1 roll" higher, he would have gotten out of that mess.

Male Human Fighter 6

So... yeah... does Harris' attack outright kill it or drop it?

If it doesn't...:
Duglan steps forward to the bottom of the stairs (C-2) and takes two swings at Alaba (Power attack).

Attack 1:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Damage 1:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Attack 2:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage 2:1d10 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

If she classifies as an evil outsider, let me know so I can add on some d6's to that damage :)

If it does:
Duglan steps forward to the bottom of the stairs (C-2) and stands defensively, ready to strike in case she makes any sudden movement.

EDIT: Oh hai Gromtheb, nice to post the exact second as you :)

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan finally musters the courage to snap out of the spell and rushes downstairs, fauchard drawn. He barks to the people clustered on the stairs "Outta mah way!"

Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Since I was upstairs, I have no clue what space I'm going to end up on, but Duglan wants to get into the thick of things and see what's going on, so wherever a double move will take him sounds good.

Male Human Fighter 6

Cower, Cower, Cower, Cower from the Monster!

Male Human Fighter 6

Curse you, nat 3!

Perception1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Sentiments shared, Gromtheb.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan drinks a tankard of ale while listening intently to Gordel's story. He's sure that at least some of it is false or exaggerated, but he does his best to enjoy them for what they're worth. He's never been much of a storyteller himself, and part of him wishes that he could retell some of the experiences of his past with such enthusiasm. His thoughts drift off into him wondering if he'll ever retire, and all the cool things he could spend his gold on instead of owning a tavern. What a waste that would be.

When the others leave and Harris starts barking out orders, Duglan grunts in approval. "Righto. I'll be readeh fer annethin t'night." He pats his armor twice for emphasis. "Ain't nobuddeh gonna blame me fer another murder. Quinn an I'll take first guard. An if yeh need me to stay up a lil longer, I can be around for 2nd or 3rd. M'Nerves gon be actin up annehways, dun think I'll be gettin much sleep."

Male Human Fighter 6

Dugvel:
"Did I asks yeh anythin bout the sheriff?" Duglan quickly blurts out, then realizes that Heddlu was the sheriff's name. "Err, I gave yeh the wrong name. Don't think we ever got it from 'im. Well, yeh hurda that kinda woman livin here?"

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan + Friends:

S@!~, just to clarify, were the deputy and Heddlu different people? I had assumed they were one and the same.

Male Human Fighter 6

Oops, sorry :(

Urchin Team gogogo:
"Heddlu is his name. An we dun wanna find im. We jus wanna talk to his wife bout summat. It has ta do wit the murder, could help us find out who the killer was."

Male Human Fighter 6

DVD:
A die:1d100 ⇒ 2

Duglan snarls at the child, "And yeh look funneh. An yeh don't listen. We're lookin for the deputy's house. We need ta talk to his wife. So if yeh wanna get yer grubby paws on that gold coin, open that trap o' yers and tell us where they live."

Male Human Fighter 6

I Dug a Vel:
Duglan sighs and says under his breath, "Aww, not this again. Nah, we ain't do nuttin. Now we be just tryin to help find the killer an put 'im ta jushtiss. Ya mind if we ask ya a question er two?"

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan nods at Velinari. He whispers back:

Perception 20 or Velinari:
"Yeh, I betcha anythin it was that gnome. An I'm sure she'll have summat good ta say to us. And I dun wanna spend mah drinkin time wit that Gordel coot."

He then says out loud, "We'll meet ya back at the inn in a bit. Gonna go take a walk around." With that he flashes a toothy grin and walks off with Velinari.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan says, "I dunnaw bout tha resta yeh, but I could use a drink," as he walks with Velinari towards the inn.

Male Human Fighter 6

Ready to roll out

Male Human Fighter 6

Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Sense Motive:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Duglan strains to hear what Egian/Gordel are talking about.

Male Human Fighter 6

A die:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Duglan tenses up as Gordel cries out in outrage, but seems to be able to restrain himself from making any disparaging comments. Instead he leans on the corner and stares intently at Father Egian. It isn't the kindest of stares.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan will come with.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan takes particular interest in the story of the gnome. "Ah, see. Like I says, a gnome actin all like a beggar shows up ta town, but he gots a pretteh necklace. An any real beggar wud be all over a chance fer a warm meal an a bed. And the tiny little f*@&a could climb tha small tree and do tha killin."

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan scratches his head. "Whassa tree token? Yeh think summun magically planted this tree real fast?"

Oooh, I wanna play the int game too!
Int:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan stares deliberately at the tree. "On that thing? Nuttin could climb that without breakin all tha branches down. Unless... maybeh it's a child... or a gnome or halfling or summat." He adds, "Also, when we was walkin in town, I got a strange vibe about summat. I think we missed summat important, but I'm not sure what it was. I was too busy yellin at that old bastard Gordel ta really focus."

Male Human Fighter 6

Wisdom:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

DM:
By the first post do you mean the long one where we're getting brought into town?

Male Human Fighter 6

Hahahaha, sorry. I'm not just trying to be difficult, I'm just trying to play true to my idea of this character. Have fun building them bridges!

Male Human Fighter 6

"Aww, thass easy. Pissy lil' f#+#a gets all mopey seein us adventurin sort. He misses tha whole gig an looks fer a way ta kill his daughter and leave tha tavern. So he does it, then yells till kingdom mothaf@*%in come about how it was mah fault. He's a coward. A jealous, smelleh coward."

Male Human Fighter 6

Holy epic post Batman!

K(Nobility):1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7
Sense Motive:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Will Save:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12 (this is +9 if a charm/compulsion effect)

Upon entering the village, and seeing a particularly angered Gordel, Duglan jeers at him, "I'd like ta see yeh try, fatteh. Dont ye blame yer troubles on tha people who HELPED ya."

When brought in for questioning, Duglan senses the strange divine force, grunts, and stares right into Heddlu's eyes. "I swear ta ya, mahself, an whatever coots yer kind worships. I dun kill Alaba last night, an I wuddnt thinka doin anythin of that sort."

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan, who clearly has had enough, walks up right into the boy's face and shouts, "FER THE LAST TIME, BY THE BLADES OF GORUM, I DIDN'T THREAT TA HAVE MAH WAY WITH ALABA." Fighting to hold back his anger, he says very firmly, "All... I said... was that she was pretteh... an' I wudda enjoyed her company if Gordel wanted. Yeh best understand that, yeh little twerpy runt, an' bring us backta yer sad SAD little town so we can save yer sorry lot AGAIN."

With that, he aggressively nudges the boy with his shoulder and walks past him in the direction that Ser Harris is going.

Male Human Fighter 6

"I call it respect and trustin our word," Duglan snarls. "And I thinkin yeh owe us some respect right about now. Yeh wan our help, yeh agree to tha terms."

Male Human Fighter 6

"Look kid, I spent enough time puttin meh life on tha line to save yer sorry lot from tha bugs. How dare yeh accuse me of these crimes and then ask me for yer help again. Sorry ta hear about her death, but I know I dun caused it and my friends know I dun caused it. So we'll be walkin on, thank yeh very much. Now run along an' tell everyone I'm innocent and wish them the best."

Sense Motive 18:
You think that Duglan is not sorry at all for the loss of Alaba.

Bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan looks in shock, "I... what? I wouldn't... Who in tha name of Gorum would say I did summat like that? I've only been with my friends here. They can tell ya that. C'mon, back me up, gents."

Male Human Fighter 6

"We didn't commit no murder. But if yeh try to bring us back to yer smelleh town and try us fer a crime we didn't do, then maybe we'll hafta reconsider not murderin anyone..."

Duglan rises to his full height and menacingly glares at the boy, but as he delivers this line, his voice cracks at a few moments. For you guys, this kind of occurrence is common... Duglan is not good at intimidating people, something you find surprising given his size and personality. However, this does not stop him from trying.

Intimidate:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2

Male Human Fighter 6

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Duglan stares the boy right in his eyes. "Well, c'mon boy. Yeh gonna tell us some more? Whass so impor'ant?"

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan grumbles, but his disappointment fades away as he accepts his 60 gold reward. "Besta luck fer ya, Gord. We'll be on our way now."

Male Human Fighter 6

So... any takers for the town party? Or are we booking it outta here?

Male Human Fighter 6

Sense Motive on Harris:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 <---- Lol

Duglan looks up, his facial expression conveying a mix of surprise and outrage, "Aww, whassa big fuss all about Harris? We could use a nice nightta rest."

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan sneers at Harris. "In a good world, I wouldn't hafta. We just saved their sorry town. Someone gonna tell fatteh about the... er... whaddever that creature had?"

Male Human Fighter 6

The same thing we do every night Pinky... try to take over the world!

Duglan grumbles something about collecting the reward and getting a drink.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan will shrug and start leaving the cave too.

Male Human Fighter 6

Duglan emits a slight grunt and backs away from the diseased ankheg. "Well, we did wha we came here fer. Yeh all wanna get outta tha cave?"

Male Human Fighter 6

Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Duglan looks like he's holding back the impulse to put the ankheg out of its misery. Quinn's comment almost pushes him over the edge, but he maintains composure. "Take eh look a' this one."

Male Human Fighter 6

Sense Motive!1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Duglan stares blankly at the cowering ankheg. He approaches it slowly (move to N11), "Oh! Whatsa matta?" His face bears a smirk, but he chooses not to attack yet.
