”Well Stauntram this is fortuitous. Can you interpret this map and tell us where you last saw the prince,” Dugal asked as he spread the map on the ground.


I think with everything giving on I could be up for some Twilight 2000

Dugal gives a slight nod and reply’s, ”I’m called Dugal and we were hired by the governor to rescue the prince.”

”Whatever they were they obviously were immune to arrows,” Dugal offered with a straight face. He turns to their rescuer, ”By the looks of you I’m guessing you’re not the prince?”

Even though both Greyshadow and I fumbled I’m for playing with fumbles and critical hits.

Dugal points up trying to signal his companions that the danger is from above. He curses his weak human eyes as he takes another peek and throws his torch around the corner hoping to illuminate the obscured creature.

Dugal whispers to his companions, ”Something up ahead.” He tries to move to the corner as quietly as possible and take a peek around it.

Make sure we close the passage behind us,” Dugal warns as he goes in the direction that the large party went.”Looks like we only got one way to go.”

Dugal pauses at Greshadow’s observation. He stops to examine the map, ”Looks like you might be right but there is only one way to know for sure. Busted why don’t you check for traps before we proceed?” If the dwarf finds no traps Dugal will proceed.

Looking forlornly at the empty chest Dugal says with mock regret, ”If only the prince was hiding in there we could be out of this pit and rewarded properly.”

He turns to Bernum, ”Pray if you must but make it quick Vicar.” When the priest is done he checks the identical passage on the far end of the room if it looks safe he will go through that passage.

”Come in and take a look. This might be a safe place to rest when the time comes,” he told his companions. ”Buster, can you check that stone box for... what did you call them... ah yes boobies.”

Waving his torch side to side Dugal warily enters the passageway, I hope you're right dwarf."

”Maybe a passage or just a crack. Only one way to find out for sure,” he said with a shrug before heading toward the source of the breeze.

”Brilliant,” Dugal commented when he saw what Greyshadow and Bernum were trying to do. However, he does not follow suit and sticks with his tourch, ”Never know when a bit of fire might come in handy.”

Dugal rests for moment and murmured, ”with any luck the prince is still climbing down this hole ... and we’ll catch up to him any moment.”

He replies to Greyshaodow before continuing his decent, ”whatever dug this hole best we avoid it.”

The Assassin lets out a sigh as he watches the torch he disappear. He lights another torch and takes the lead, descending with a torch in one hand, cursing every so often at the slow pace.

”Looks like we only have one option, Dugal remarks. But a little light might be nice, he lights a torch and drops it down the shaft waiting for it to hit the bottom before he tries to descend.

My last look above gound for a bit, Dugal thought as he gathered his gear and peered at the fog covered countryside. Eventually, he muttered a curse and looked to his companions, ”Who wants to be first down the hole?”

Why do I feel like a condemned man walking toward the gallows, Dugal wonders as he trudges forward listening to Oothu. Finally he asks, "There must some who have returned from the accursed place?"

Is it possible to get some holy water and flasks of oil from the armory? I'm not sure if those are items they would normally have on hand.

Dugal smiles at Oothu's remarks, "Well, hopefully they will be just as excited when you come back alive Oothu."

After a restless nights sleep Dugal wake before sunrise making himself ready for the journey. He arrived at the tavern and was surprised by Oothu’s words. ”Funeral?” Dugal asked with a weak laugh. ”A bit premature don’t you think?

Updated equipment. I have ten days worth of rations 100 torches, 50’ of rope and 3 gp. Hirelings are expensive; torch bearer is 1 gp/day.

”Best be getting my gear together first light will be here before we know it,” Dugal announced as rose from his chair. ”Might look into picking up some supplies too.”

Dugal grunted his thanks to the serving lad and quickly swallowed a mouthful of the watery ale. He is lost in his own thoughts when the Sergeant appeared at the table.

Nodding his head in agreement, "Tonight, works for me." He looks around the table to his companions, "If no one else has any objections." With a crooked smile he offers, "Why don't you grab a seat, have a drink? It may be the last one we get for a while."

Dugal stopped in the doorway of the tavern before entering and slowly took stock of the tavern room and its occupants. Just a bunch of lost souls, he thought grimly before he relaxed and entered.

He hesitated a moment before sitting, waved to a server, and called in a voice as dry as a desert, "Ale!" A low grumbling comes from his stomach and he quickly added, "and a bit of stew if you got it."

Taking a seat, he nods at the sergeant then leans back nonchalantly, looking around the table, "Nice to be meetin' you all. I'm called Dugal."
