Male Human Fighter 5 HP 52/52, Fort +6, Ref +3, Will +1, Init +2, Per +5, AC 24, Touch 14, F-F 21, Swim +18

Guys, I just got done with my first week of college and I'm starting work alongside it next week. Between that stuff and homework I really don't think I'm going to have much time to myself, and what time I do have, I'd rather spend offline getting to know people.

So unfortunately, I'm going to have to withdraw from this game. (It's not you guys, I'm doing it for every game).

I apologize and I wish you all the best.

Drake grins. "Hank! A righ' pleasure to meet ya! I'm Drake. Good to see someone else here with the common sense to lift a few weights every now and then."

Looking up at the statue, Drake scratches his head. "What, so it's like a giant, automatic fan or somethin'? Seems like a whole lot o' trouble for somethin' so simple. Why not jus' hire a couple of thugs to wave a fan for you every few seconds?"

Drake is around 300 with gear.

Drake keeps an eye on the lizard statue as he descends the rope, coming to a stop at the ground and stretching. "Ah. That was invigoratin'! See, what did I tell you spell-slingin' chickens? Ain't nothin' wrong with a little exercise, and now we can see for ourselves what's down here rather than relyin' on your fancy-schmancy magic."

Drake lights a torch and turns to face the cavern before him, looking around.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Drake will drop down from the end of the rope if he perceives the bottom of the cavern to be at most 30 feet down. Otherwise he will call up and ask for more rope to be passed down to him.

"Magic is for wusses," a gruff voice comments, as a strong man walks into the room. "If none of you are man enough to just go down there, well, that's what they hired me for. Out of the way, all of you."

Drake walks over to the edge of the pit, taking out his grappling hook and setting it into the stone, making sure it pierces the floor nicely before tying his rope to the hook and then jumping off the edge.

I have 50 feet of silk rope so I should only be able to fall 50' or less. Let me know what happens.

Ok, I will at some point buy bull's strength and greater magic weapon. I think the price to copy is relatively cheap at this level.

Much obliged. I'll pay you back by slaughtering anything that comes within 10 feet of you.

Enlarge person on me results in my damage changing to...2d8+20 (22-36 damage per hit). Not to mention the reach. Very nice.

Sadly, bull's strength is not as necessary. I forgot that I already have a belt of giant strength +2. Bull's Strength wouldn't give me any higher Strength than enlarge person would, but it doesn't give me any other benefits and it uses up a spell slot higher, so never mind that one.

Ok :) Its not my job to police characters and if we can get away with it, that is one more person who can save me repeatedly. I have a suspicion that Drake will be getting me out of some tight spots. I plan on bribing him to keep me alive with haste and enlarge person.

I also accept greater magic weapon, bull's strength, and cure moderate wounds. :D

Hey guys. Drake Rainser here. I'm dishing out 20-29 damage per hit with my halberd, so just leave the melee combat to me. (Furious Focus is quite possibly the best feat Paizo has ever printed, by the way).

And perhaps myself.

Ah, I was wondering why you mentioned us in the other thread. Didn't realize you were the same guy.

Great to be on board. I have already done my equipment, ready to go when you are.

Looking forward to playing with Nathaniel in both this game and Jelani's...are you going to be using the same eidolon in both games?

On the Subject of Meta-Gaming

I mentioned previously that I want nothing able to remove the challenge of aquatic environments. Your characters have no idea they are going underwater.

My character was born on a ship and raised by pirates, and for that I gave him a pretty nice Swim check. I admit that I chose the halberd because I didn't want to suck at underwater combat, but it's also a nice weapon and to be honest I'll probably pick up a slashing and bludgeoning weapon as well to deal with DR anyway.

If anything about my character build is objectionable, please let me know.

Heh. Thanks. Now could you also tell me how to post all that info beside my alias? XD

Sure. When you make your profile, just enter the information requested in your "Class/Levels" bar.

What is "F-F X"?

A popular video game from the Square Enix series "Final Fantasy", depicting the story of a time-traveling spiky-haired blonde kid traveling around slaying monsters and fighting his dad who is trapped in a giant whale that forces him to destroy the world.

Also, it can mean "Flat-Footed"

I remember there being a pretty hefty penalty for underwater fighting on all but piercing weapons. It may be 3.5 stuck in my head though.

No, you're right. That's why I'm specializing in a piercing weapon. No problems.

Cuàn wrote:
To be honest, anyone with ranged weaponry has similar problems. The easiest class to play underwater probably is a wildshape druid.

Not really. I'm perfectly fine, actually. Thanks to the DM approving that Buoyant armor I have decent AC and no penalties for fighting underwater, along with a nice Swim check, so I don't think it'll be any different than fighting on land for me, really. Well, other than the extremely slow move speed.

You may still modify your character but Swim is still HIGHLY important for more than just Swimming. Avoiding obstacles, maneuvering deep underwater grottoes, escaping collapsing shipwrecks, getting past strong currents, getting extra breath and diving deep, etc.

But with your bonuses, I doubt the Skill Focus will be as necessary.

Oh hell no. If I'm going to be escaping collapsing shipwrecks, I want that +3-+6 bonus!

And finished. Let me know what you think.

Important
For those of you wondering how everything will work underwater, know that I plan on focusing more on the STORY and less on "I have to roll 500 Swim checks a day." Any character able to reach 10 on a Swim check without fail (+9 to your rolls for example) will always be able to move around. As for breathing, do not go putting high CON scores just for that. The campaign will accommodate your characters.

What? I wish you had mentioned that before I spent a feat on Skill Focus (Swim)! Ah well. I might need the high check to do something extraordinary, so I'll just leave it as is.

Updating Drake's backstory now.

And same to you, it's 3h for me here in Montreal.

EDIT: Drake has been looked over and almost completely checked. Looking very good so far, especially on the Attack Bonuses and Swim checks. You'll last long down in the deeps, just be mindful for your Will Saves.

A character with no weaknesses is no fun to play. Anyway, looking forward to this game. Hope I get picked.

Here is Drake, the plain old human fighter. (NeoSeraphi's submission).

I will update his backstory at a time that is not 2 AM...soon as I wake up tomorrow morning. Have a good night.

Here we go, my submission for the game. Got bored so I typed it up in full.
