I can answer that one. We were indeed having problems with the sync while the Paizo site was experiencing technical issues. Once those settled, the sync from our site began working again. I just forgot to remove the message. The warning message is gone now and you should be free to authorize your account and sync your purchases. Sorry for the confusion. -Doug

If you have an older license, it will still work with the latest version and should update for free. We have people that bought back in 2004 and those keys still work. If you have a Player only Lite license, those can be upgraded to Standard for $20 and a Standard can be updated to an Ultimate license so you can host free/demo players if you want for $110 normally or $88 through midnight EST tonight (Sunday, March 11) due to a sale that is currently running. We try to have sales periodically on the main licenses. A brand new Ultimate license is on sale for $110 (down from $149). That can still be a chunk all at once, so we offer the 6-months 0% interest financing option through PayPal for U.S. based customers. You can find a link to it on the bottom of our Store. If now is not the best time, please do consider signing up for the newsletter and you'll get notified for sales and new releases each week. Just posting on our threads about physical games you are playing of Starfinder and what features would be helpful to you helps us prioritize where we spend our development efforts as well. If we can't entice you now, perhaps we can eventually by addressing your most requested features.
You can play Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds using the built-in CoreRPG or PFRPG rulesets and community extensions if you like with no additional purchases. The Starfinder ruleset and Core Rules conversions are pretty nice improves (we think) and represents roughly 6 months of software development by SmiteWorks with many more months planned to continually add greater and greater features. Those features and graphics may or may not matter to you as much. We generally encourage people to check it out and then if they are unsatisfied, they can request a full refund within 30-days. Great, now do the same for Roll20 [or D20Pro]
Re: Prices
For those without the PDFs, you get it for $59.99, $39.99 and $22.99 each but you can sync to get the PDF added to your Paizo account for free. Even at $50 for the Starfinder ruleset, it will take a lot of sales to recoup our investment. Adventures and supplements help with that ROI in the long run. Like with everything else, supporting things you like to see financially means that you'll see more of those things in the future. Whether that means FG, Roll20, D20Pro or none of the above is up to the consumers.
With the website revamp, this got lost in the shuffle. The Starfinder ruleset was released for the Fantasy Grounds virtual tabletop on Feb 9, 2018. It's an add-on priced at full MSRP $59.99 but it offers a $9.99 discount for current PDF owners. Also available are the Alien Archive at $39.99 ($9.99 discount for PDF owners) complete with tokens, stat and reference modules and Dead Suns 1 through 3 for $22.99 each (only $7 each after PDF discount). Each add-on includes the entirety of the book in digital reference format usable within Fantasy Grounds' Library (renamed as Data for Starfinder) and all the data preloaded for easy use and automation within Fantasy Grounds. As Starfinder introduces a number of new features, this ruleset and the content will be undergoing constant development. It supports character sheets and all basic character and DM options necessary for play outside of starship combat (items, spells, weapons, combat, etc.). PC Starships have new updates scheduled for a Tuesday (3/6) release and a much more involved PC starship sheet is in development. Future updates (in development now) will support drag and drop ship building and support for multi-user ship combat tracking for each role on the ship. The entire interface has been customized with a unique skin for Starfinder that really embodies the look and feel of the game. There are dedicated forums set up for Starfinder game organization, bug fixes and general discussion as well.
We just released an official Starfinder ruleset for Fantasy Grounds a few weeks ago. We are busy wrapping up the basic functionality for starships and starship combat will be expanded more and more as we go. You can use a hex grid on a map or image like the starfield in FG with a toggle (right-click for the menu) and the starship tokens are being redone to have a hex base and directional facing. Player character sheets are available now.
See everything currently available for Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds If you already own the PDF, you can sync your accounts and get the entire cost of the PDF as a discount to your order. If you don't already have the PDF, you can sync and get the PDF added to your paizo.com account for free when you buy the FG version.
Official Starfinder support is available for Fantasy Grounds. It's pretty new and evolving but it's proving to be very popular on our platform. https://www.fantasygrounds.com/store/product.xcp?id=PZOSMWPZO7101FG We also have the Alien Archive and Dead Suns 1 - 3 available already. You will also need a license or active subscription of Fantasy Grounds. Check the forums for other gamers. See everything for Starfinder on Fantasy Grounds

You can take it for a spin for 30 days and request a full refund if it doesn't satisfy your needs. Even if you plan to build your own adventures, I would encourage you to pick up an official Pathfinder one for a good example to follow. Buying a module gets you optimized maps, handout images, text and tokens along with everything built-in and ready to play. If you want to change a story, encounter, treasure parcel or whatever, just unlock the record and change it or make a clone of it by dragging and dropping and then edit the cloned record. You can insert and remove stuff freely and even combine content from multiple adventures or even from multiple publishers. We support lots of 3rd party Pathfinder publishers. How is it to build your own adventure from a PDF in FG? 1. Put the images in your image folder

I've been lax about posting updates to some of these threads -- mostly because I forgot about them. I did want to share some updates on what we've been up to over the last year and more recently. Today we just launched the Starfinder RPG - Ruleset and Core Rules, Alien Archive and Dead Suns AP 1 through 3. We consider this a version 1.0 with many future updates planned for Starship combat. For a list of all Starfinder products available for Fantasy Grounds, check this link or use the Search filter to limit it to Starfinder:

Relished wrote: I know that you guys just released this but I've got to know, is there an ETA for curse of the crimson throne?? We have a little rework left on this one but I expect it will come along quickly. The review process has been pretty smooth, so you are probably looking at the first 2 adventures arriving in the next 3-4 weeks.
You don't have to buy any of the core books to play on Fantasy Grounds. Pathfinder is OGL and there are lots of built in content and community content available, along with the ability to enter your own data. The ruleset itself has been included from the beginning of of when Pathfinder was first available as a game. Initially it was an option for 3.5E campaigns and we eventually spun it off into its own ruleset. We have videos on each store page that show you what the official versions have and you can determine if that is something you would like to optionally buy to enhance the game or not. Fantasy Grounds has been available since 2004 and has been growing every year since. In addition to enhancing your play experience, buying add-ons we sell tells us and the publishers that license the content to us that you support these efforts. There are several VTTs out there and they all have strengths and weaknesses. We encourage open discussion about where we rate compared to competition on our forums. Our fans have supported us over the decades and allowed us to grow the number of people working on the product and producing content. Ultimately, support whichever one you like. Others in this thread have already described a number of the unique features in FG, but the short summary is that it has very good automation, good character and campaign management features, a history of producing great licensed content, full-time employees that enhance the product and provide customer support, more publisher licenses than any other VTT and the 2nd largest user base. We offer a full refund for any purchase made within 30 days, including subscriptions. You can try it out and compare it with your favorite VTT and then get a full refund if it doesn't satisfy your needs. With regards to refunds of Paizo products, please note that we may need to coordinate with Paizo on any products if you activated your free PDF. That portion may or may not be available for refund, so don't sync your account and get your free PDF if you are still on the fence.

The Lite license (Player license) is still supported but is no longer sold. You can reinstall with that key and still act just like a player license did in the past. Use the latest installer from our website under Downloads > All Licenses and enter your key into your Settings. It is also eligible for a reduced cost upgrade to Standard if you ever decide to go up to the Standard edition.

Yes, although I think there might still be a few kinks getting worked out of the system. We have two-way communication from our sites via the Sync Paizo Account option on our site, so both sites know which products are purchased. The intent is that you will get the PDF whenever you paid full price on our site. We do have the discount working the other way, so if you have the PDF now, you get the cost reduced by the PDF price on our end. Samy wrote:
Here is a video showing the character sheets built into the PFRPG ruleset. They work with manually entered class and race info or with the official add-ons. In this video, I focus on using the add-ons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gD3fpNlYV6M

You can do any of the options below: 1) DM buys the APG and marks it as shared. Players can use it while connected to the DM's game but not outside of the session2) Player buys the APG and can access it while in the DM's game if the DM allows it (they will see a prompt). DM doesn't even need to own it. Player can access it offline. In this case, the player needs their own license or subscription. 3) The player or the DM can enter the Oracle class by copying and pasting the relevant data from the PDF.
Kevin B wrote: Will there be any sort of discount for owning the PDFs already? It seems costly to have to buy both. Yes, you get the PDF for free or the full cost of the PDF off from your purchase if you buy from our site directly or from paizo.com once they become available here. Steam won't support the discount price.
Building your own content from PDFs is still fully supported. We just added more functionality to allow you to build your own class and race data since there is obviously a huge back-catalog of PDFs available for Pathfinder and we only have the Core Rulebook and Advanced Players Guides ready. The same is true for NPCs. There is a video up on each of our store pages that shows you a walk-through and you can decide if the convenience and nice to have features makes it worth getting the FG version done for you already. If you are new to Fantasy Grounds, here is a quick primer on licenses available for the core software:
Standard license - Player pay $39 or $4.00/mo and any of them can DM if they choose. For Mac users, we have a new simple installer available on our website and also from Steam. Choose Downloads > Mac OSX Installation from our website menu. http://www.fantasygrounds.com
Once the products are available here on paizo.com, they will be listed at the print price minus the PDF price if you already own the PDF. We have just updated our website so that if you follow the sync instructions in the link below, you can notify our site with a list of the PDFs you already own and get the full PDF price discounted from the final price you pay on our website. That means that the Rise of the Runelords FG version will only cost you $18 if you already own the PDF. http://mailchi.mp/fantasygrounds/official-pathfinder-launch-for-fantasy-gro unds
We've made good progress so far. Here is a brief update. We have not set up an ETA for the releases, but they are close. In Review:

It might be best to send you over to the FG forums for specifics. I don't want to derail the thread here, but I'll answer this batch. NPCs for official modules already have tokens assigned, unless there was not an image for the monster, and then we use letter tokens. The are preplaced on most maps for encounters and the encounter will show a checkmark to indicate that. Sharing a map doesn't share the pins. Those are meant for DM view only. Panning a map within the window can be done with the pan icon on the bottom right corner of each image window (Click and drag in the direction you want to pan) or use what I prefer and use the middle-mouse button depressed to pan. There is a wiki and User Manual under Help on the website and links to videos. We are happy to help.
FG has all the room locations pinned to the map. If you hover over them, it shows a tooltip with the name of the room/area and you click it to access the story, encounters, DM notes and treasure for that area or room. The encounters show the CR and XP and number appearing and whether or not the tokens are preplaced on the map (all modules in the recent few years have tokens preplaced in their starting position.) Click a button at the bottom that has a tooltip explaining the function. It adds the NPCs to the combat tracker, rolls their initiative, randomly rolls their hit points (if that option is enabled) , places them on the map and marks them as invisible until they are revealed from the combat tracker. The combat tracker has the most common actions displayed on the combat tracker so you can drag and drop them to targets. Afterward, you click award XP and divide treasure with automated features. One of the things that is nice about combat actions in FG is that it recognizes the various defenses and vulnerabilities of all the different creatures we know and love. If you use a slashing weapon on a skeleton, it will adjust your damage automatically when you drop it on monster.
Fantasy Grounds works well as in offline mode. You can run 2 instances of the program and connect the second one as a player to localhost. Many DM's will then drag that display to a 2nd monitor, connected TV or projector. There is also an extension that auto-scales the map to fit the full display. The DM then uses their local display to manage the combat tracker to track intiative, effects, NPC and PC health, etc. and then keep track of the party inventory, awarding of XP, coins, etc. The map reveal is handled manually though by cutting away the mask as they explore. We don't yet have the dynamic lighting to automatically do that. There are a handful of DM's I know of who bring it with them to conventions and game stores where they don't have an available Internet connection.
