Icarus takes the pen again and writes down. If I can't bring any of my gear and it's specifically meant to be somewhere with no tech I'm not sure there's much point in me going. I'd help better just going somewhere else to make them expend more resources tracking me. There's a point when being cautious becomes crippling.

"I'm not going to say I like the sound of any of most of the start of that... but still coming out ahead of Charlie. Let's add to your crimes with a minor indiscretion, you manipulated me into buying you a few drinks at a bar once before disappearing out the ladies room window... I think. It didn't help my self esteem at all."
Male Human Gadgeteer
"Well there's been crazy fringe scientist and engineers coming up with all sorts of odd stuff for decades. Maybe someone found some older tech like that but can't replicate it or doesn't want to for some reason with newer hardware. So they're harvesting surviving older tech like clunky old arcade machines and other things to get compatible parts."

Investigate: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 Doctor Icarus examines the receipt carefully, if the register was remotely hacked to change the print out he would expect to see some clue, no doubt a little judder in the printing process or some such while the machine adjusts to the altered command. Too quick for most to pick up but potentially leaving a paper trail of a different sort.

Icarus starts trying to figure out what little he can from both the phone and the receipt. "Not a bad spot and if you break from the treeline you'll be easy to spot snooping." I don't want to roll a load of things that might not be relevant so just let me know what you want rolled Radavel.

"I've had a lot of time to consider how to mess with peoples heads. I'll send you up shortly." "Not bad at all now you mention it, what're you thinking Nite Owl? There might be something in the library that could be a useful reference." Doc will send Dottie up to talk with the kid.

"If we grab someone and need to hold them for a bit before handing over to the police or shield then I've got a few holding cells set up. The place isn't done, I wasn't expecting to be active just yet. There's always another invention I want to hammer out beforehand... but timetables get messed with." Dottie's trained eyes will not panels that are clearly meant to slide aside concealing... a defence system? Fire prevention system? "If you get bored while the tech heads do their thing and don't want to cook or lounge in the sitting room there's a library that way. There's bedrooms that way. If a door doesn't open just leave it be." He looks at the others. "Please."
Male Human Gadgeteer
"You'll be fine, I've done this thousands of times and mathematically you're not much different from the test apples. Beam me up Scotty." Doctor Icarus does his best Shatner impression. One moment the group is standing on the roof... the next in a comfortable looking windowless living room. "There are toilets that way, the kitchen's over there. The gym's not up and running yet but I'll save the grand tour, unless one of you is nursing a hidden injury I suppose we'd best head to the lab." He starts walking backwards clearly very used to the space they are currently in and starts walking towards the lab. "You're my first guests and though I've still got plans to expand feel free to give me some feedback." He holds open a door with 'Lab' clearly written on it. to reveal a windowless laboratory with various bits of lab equipment.

Doctor Icarus starts looking it over. "I'll crack it open to get it's secrets but disassembling it first might be best." Careful to make sure there were no booby traps or counter measures before he starts removing the battery and sim card. As well as anything more cunning a skilled individual like him would doubtlessly think of. Notice for Any Booby Traps: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

Icarus keeps his pistol handy while he lets the pair get a lead to scout. He taps his foot anxiously and exhales deeply while looking at Batman "How long do you think we should give them before moving up? I doubt the person didn't hear all the gunfire but they seemed keen on being quiet."

Icarus shakes his head and heads off to help the people but calls over his shoulder. "Don't kill him, it'll just lead to the two of us arguing." Icarus takes out some tools and steps down beside the strange newcomer and starts undoing the young woman's restraints. Looking at the strange man he nods. "Hey. So what brings you to this part of town..." Disable Device: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

"I bet he's got a secret emergency exit up in that office of his, it's probably built into a space invaders arcade game or something... I wonder if he'll have some booby traps set up or was he relying on the goon squad here entirely to buy him escape time." Doctor Icarus waits not foolish enough to be willing to barge into the place alone.
