Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
In silence Dirk walks with the rest of the group, shrugging his shoulders and not looking too happy about the outcome. "Well, no matter where you go authority has a way of rearin' it's ugly head and demandin' you worship it, I s'pose." Feeling the freedom Dirk had yet to experience since his leave of Deepholm, Dirk decides to seize this opportunity to do what he does best. "I'm thinkin' that I may need to test th' mettle of some of th' warriors of this strange land, I'm going to find out about some fights, and maybe vent me pent up anger a little." Dirk will go to the gladiatorial fights to "vent his frustration" a little, and maybe find some people who could tell him more about the city and it's leaders in the process. Ulterior motive for the win!

Dirk stays silent during the course of the Magistrate's words, only clearing his throat occasionally. He also gladly accepts the payment, nodding to the clerk who hands it to him. "So let me get this right, You're payin' us, and we're not to speak ter anyone aboot what happ'ned on th' beach? It all sounds fisheh to me," Dirk turns to Sunny and her new found companion. "No offence meant ladies, but me ma once used ter say 'dont look a gift delver in the mouth,' so I guess I agree to the terms." Dirk keeps any other opinions to himself, preferring wait until his party is more or less alone before putting his thoughts into words.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Sorry about not posting had a death in the family and had to tie up some loose ends. Dirk awakes and pulls his armour on, strapping himself in and feeling whole again.
Dirk answers the door and takes the box happily, opening it and taking the 50 gold pieces, placing them in his pouches with his other wealth. Whilst Dirk awaits the rest of the party, Dirk silently takes his greataxe and starts to oil and clean it, making sure it is in good condition.

Dirk smiles broadly at the man, an aura of friendliness about him. "yer see, I was once a sailor, but th' first mate, Ojin was slightly too liberal with his whip, and hit me one time too many. One night, as he was doin' the rounds, he seemed to have the sudden urge to take a midnight swim, and I was nice enough to help him overboard. Seems the crew didnae like that much and decided, very forcefully, that I should live here. This is why I'm here, that and the ale." Dirk follows the mountain of a man and drains the mug of ale quickly, relishing the taste of the brew, his stomach rumbling loudly. "Is there a chance yer might have a leg of mutton in there somewhere, I seem to have forgotten to eat since I got here."
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
"Do yer at least speak a language we can understand?" Dirk asks with an air of annoyance. "Is there anyone here that can cast that nifty spell to understand what other's are sayin?" Comprehend Languages Dirk puts down the barrel and looks at the strange woman, thoughts of who she is running through his head, each of them as far fetched as the other. "Maybe she's one of them watery type folks from the sea. Or maybe even a strange type of elemental. Anyone else have any ideas?" Don't worry Sunny, the dice gods will shine upon you again, you just have to give them praise and ask only for their benevolence :P
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
"This is no place ter be sleepin', Tell yer what, I'll carry her, and we go back into town, and find a nice place ter wake her up, that way we can be findin' out what it is she knows." Dirk moves toward the woman on the beach, not taking his eyes off her for a second, still wary of the scores of undead that appeared only moments ago, thinking this woman may have something to do with it, or at least know something about it. Perception to notice anything strange about her, also to make sure she doesn't do anything drastic. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
marked one potion off my equipment list. "Donne Worry, lass, yer can have another if yer be needin' it, in the meantime, jus' let me handle the..." At that point Dirk, while holding another potion notices the large wave rising. "It couldn't have been a cave system, or an old ruin...maybe a mountain would have been nice...anything but water...I had my bath last week!" To be honest, I'm secretly waiting for Pamela Anderson to start running toward us in a red one piece...XD
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
DM could I ask a small favour, I'm getting confused what round we are on, could you please, in bold print, post the round number at the top of posts please? It will just make it easier for me, and others if they are in the same boat, to see what round we are in at a glance. Dirk screams a loud war cry from the top of his lungs, chargins at the nearest undead creature he can see. Charge at nearest skelly/undead, weapon is already drwan, so just charge and smoosh. Attack =1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
We don't seem to have a OOC thread, I searched, but couldn't find it...so I'll post here. The only thing I'm getting confused about is that I am assuming I am the "D" on the battle map, assuming that is correct, I seem to have not moved yet, so I can't tell if I am close enough to attack something yet, that's all.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Just a few things, I cant see what you have changed on the battle map yet, although, you may be in the process of doing that now, if in that case, I'll shut up and move to my other thing. Did you want us to just tell you our actions for the round or post in initiative order. Some DMs are anal retentive that way, I know I've played with one or two (not you Sunny, you are a good DM), it's just that I cant actually know what I'm doing this round without knowing enemy placement and PC placement is all. on a side note, at least 3 of the guards go after me, I'm not always the slowest! *dances*
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
No knowledge religion, but as for the double move, , I'll take the action, as long as I'm not in a position, with the counters in the places they are now, for an attack of opportunity. In other words, as long as I'm not right on top of one this round, allowing them to move and get an attack of opportunity.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Sorry DM, as Sunny says, different timezones and work...anywho...initiative = 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 looks like I'm going last... Dirk hears the cry of Lilandra and stands up abruptly, knocking the table slightly and spilling other's coffee. *move action to get up* [b]"Ah, finally, somethin'to do...gents, stay here, time for a Dwarf to have a little fun smashin' things that need to be smashed!"[/ooc] words are not his strongpoint, nor are speeches...XD Dirk reaches behind him and draws his greataxe, testing its sharpness before trying to find the "undead" someone has screamed. *last action, drawing weapon*
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk turns to the elf, the image of her face slightly out of focus, and smiles broadly showing a set of pearly white teeth. "Why aren't you the life o' th' party, if you will excuse me a moment, I'm a thinkin' that that there table needs my attention." Dirk walks towards the table of coffee drinkers and calls over his shoulder. "Th' names Dirk Strongbeard, by the way, you are more than welcome to join me at this table, they seem to be a friendly bunch." Dirk takes a seat at the table, grinning even broader than before. "A tale is that yer be wantin'? Well the only tale I be knowin' is th' unfortunate tale of how I came to be here, instead of workin' in the town guard as me pappy were, and his grandpappy before him, fightin' and upholdin' th' peace." Dirk starts to drink the foul black liquid in front of him, wondering how coffee ever became popular despite it tasting like the back end of a mule drenched in the waters that run in most sewers. As to not spend too much time typing this, I will condense the story a little. Dirk starts his tale, describing his love for his family and his longing for a life outside the halls of his large town. He shows signs of anger at the way he was treated as a young dwarf and the way he was down trodden by the more "Law abiding" member of the town, even though he did no wrong...most of the time. Finally, Dirk starts his tale of his naval experience, and the oppressive first mate, Ojin, that, despite never taking his whip to Dirk, treated him like a dog, and eventually lead the coup to knock him out and leave him at the port of call, the city of Azir. The coffee was finally taking effect, and Dirk rethought his previous statement, coffee was useful, if only to get rid of the effects of too much ale. No cure for the morning after too much ale comes without a sore price to be paid, be it taste or pain. I could have written more, but I have to go to work soon, Dirk is the kind of guy to want to tell his story at every chance he can get, so if the opportunity to talk about Dirk's past comes up again, I will add a little more detail.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Walking slowly and dutifully through small crowds of people, a lone dwarf seeks the strongest ale at this city wide celebration, kicking sand as he shuffles his boots through small piles of sand absent mindedly. "Aye a sore sight this be, reminds me a little of home," he says with a slight tone of melancholy in his voice. Dirk finds the nearest barrel of ale and offers to pay for 4 tankards, carefully noting all who pass by, hoping to Torag that none of his clan are here celebrating. not sure if you wanted us to roll the 1d4 but here anyways 1d4 ⇒ 4, and not sure if Dirk has to pay for drinks, but a good dwarf knows the best ale is worth some payment.
When I was GMing, I used Google Docs and used a spreadsheet, allocating a colour to each character using primarily black for the buildings, this way it can be amended without having to upload a new pic for each turn, just makes it a little easier is all. In the example, green were the lower level enemies, brown were the larger different type of enemies (giant farplane worms if I recall correctly), orange was the enemy leader, and the rest were PCs, the lower case non bold lettering is abbreviations of effects the PCs have cast on the creatures. Just an idea, it worked well for me and a couple of other GMs on here, if not, other idea are out there, like the photobucket idea.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk again, starts to sweat and grow a few inches, his eyes going blank, a primal roar issue from his lips as he enhances his strength with primal fury. Rage as free action Dirk steps toward the metallic opponent and swings his axe at the contraption, all thought disappearing, only battle remaining. To Hit: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk hears the creak of metal coming from inside the cottage, noting that this sound like battle, Dirk rushes over to th door, almost barreling Dorsera over in his attempt to fight this thing. "Finally, somethin' ter fight. Outta tha way, Dorsera, I'm goin' to make this thing regret ever living." Not caring if this thing has actually ever lived before, Dirk pushes past Dorsera, readying his axe. Once Dirk is in a position to make an attack, Dirk will activate rage as a free action and then attack
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk picks himself up off the dusty floor of the cottage, and brushes himself off. "By The Forge, will yer look at tha'!" Dirk points at the human sized bundle wrapped in funeral linens. "I wonder what got her, and I wonder if it be still here." Dirk looks around for anything dangerous in the cottage.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
"Outta the way, I'll open her fer ya!" Dirktakes a few steps back toward a twisted tree and hunkers down into a sprint position. "There'd better be a good fight in there..." With that being said, Dirk charges at the door, slamming his shoulder into the door with all his might.
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk amazes himself at how much he is picking up on this adventure, all the amazing sights and things he is seeing and encountering. Travelling and sleeping in the wilds, Dirk only regrets, quite loudly, that he didn't bring any ale to drink, other than that, Drik is quite obviously having the time of his life. Survival check, not counting Deelin's aid another1d20+6=17 also this will be my last post until i can get outta the clutches of these needy and neglected relatives...*makes continual failed escape artist checks*
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
"Now's a fine enough time ter set up camp, and ter heal up, methinks. I may have not been hurt, but other people have got some mighty nasty cuts and bruises." I also think that we should camp for the night, I'll take first shift, allowing some of the spellcasters to get 2 shifts worth of rest in
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
"Now, that was a fight!" Dirk wipes the sweat from his brow. "A shame I dinnae get any scars, though, good fer nothin' lizard!" Dirk straps his axe to his back again and starts to open the enemy's mouth. A loud wet snap sound issues from whatever Dirk does with the now dead enemy. Dirk, a triumphant smile on his face, pulls a bloody hand from the creatures mouth, his hand holdign a grizzly trophy of a few teeth. "This will make a fine necklace fer me, proof of me fers' proper battle!" Dirk then looks around and sees the rest of his companions scouring the floorbed of the forest, as if lookign for worms for fishing. "Oh, that's right, we're s'posed teh look fer some kind of green stuff, right?" Dirk then looks with the rest of the party, looking for the moss. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk, outwardly not caring for anything more than this creatures death, swings again, hoping to gut the creature, and use its scaly hide to make a new pair of boots. Dirk issues another gutteral scream from his lungs as he swings his axe faster than he has ever swung it before, as if the weight of the axe has somehow gotten lighter. Attack:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 Damage1d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
sorry for my brief hiatus, I'm back now Dirk, angering by the second, grows a few inches, his body heating up, waves of heat rise from his body, making the air above him shimmer. Dirk screams a primal scream. His eys go blank, as if nothing in this world is more important than following his primal instincts, the istincts so many of us have forgotten. Dirk entered rage as a free action
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk looks at the large tree, and puzzles how something this big could exist without elves living in it. Suddenly, something green and scaly grabbed Torillan, Dirk struggles to pull his weapon out to ready himself. Initiative:1d20-1=4
Male Dwarf Barbarian 2
Dirk eventually returns to the party, gruff and upset that he didn't even get to hit the hobgoblin once. "Hmm, I donnae like this, enemies gettin' away before we can kill 'em. Time to find some meat." Dirk then realises that he forgot to buy any ale before he left for adventure. "Dammit all ter hell! If it's not one thing, its another...we forgot the bloody ale!" Dirk, angry and upset, sets off to find something to eat other than leaves and twigs. Survival check:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
