Devereux nods, 'I'm going to want a written report on everything you know about these Blacksuits, including key personal and recent activity.' He turns to Kyra, 'Take your man back to base and stitch him up, we need to find out what he knows ASAP.'

He returns his attention to the officer, 'Your men are doing a fine job at this warehouse, and I'm happy to leave the mopping up to them, I believe the men inside are demoralized and attempting to flee. I heard they have chopper nearby. I'll head back in and make sure you've got nothing to worry about inside but humans.'

He picks up a radio *cssssh* 'Cythery, come in. I need you to stick around as back up in case things go south, and for transport back to base, Kyra is heading off, cargo is secured, I repeat, cargo is secured.'*csssh*

Standing slightly bemused at the officers hesitation, anyone watching his face might make out a slight smile, if it could be called that on the hideously grotesque face.

Finding a quiet corner he changes back to his Nazzadi form, figuring the cops don't need scaring anymore then already are, before making his way back to Kyra. 'Got my clothes and gun in that can of yours Kyra?' he asks, casually motioning for the officers to come over.

OK, and I'll read up on the rules again, It's just not a system I normally use and because of the long break, gaps are their in my understanding of the mechanics. I promise I'll read up on them again, but what is the go with the 2 shot paralysis needles. Also I forgot to mention that anyone of those guys who saw me needs a fear roll ;)

Alrighty, let's get this show on the road, for the purposes of my actions I'm assuming that the room I entered the building in was a dead end, where Mettle is, and the room next to it contained Mettle, with a door leading to where the blue light is. I am also assuming that all 7 people are in the room with me, freaking out and about to call in for a chopper. If any of that is incorrect just modify my post in the spirit of what I'm doing, and I'll let you know if I'd do anything different. I'm also assuming I've been moving parallel to the buildings outer wall, which would put a window on the wall.

The man says, as Devereux watches, hidden in a roof corner, having changed into his tager form. Unfortunately for him he forgot to switch off his radio, which hisses and crackles, before ringing through the room loud and clear, *cssh*"Hey Devereux...where you at? Can you jump up and down or something I'm approaching the building but can't see you anywhere.*cssh*

Letting out a ear piercing screech he jumps at the window, smashing it with his body, landing on the ground with a growl, in plain sight. He then fires off several poisoned spikes into the group, before smashing a hideous spiked arm up to grab the sill and swing himself out of the room onto the outer wall, letting loose a second blood curdling scream.

Kyra feels his conscience invaded by the now familiar other-wordly drone 'Yoouuu shoould seeee something noooow, shooot the roooom I caame through, but noot the one to the leeft if you want anythiing leeft of Mettle'

OK, now for the fun part, can't remember what to do.
Initiative:1d10 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Taking three actions, moving to jump to the window. Second action is to fire 2 spikes, unfortunately I've forgotten how to do this, the Tager section lists 'Shots 2' But I don't know what I need to roll... Third action is to leave the room.

Ignoring his more curious side for now, Devereux slings Mettle over his shoulder and makes his way back to the first room, as it is a dead end and easier to defend. Trying to be careful he lays the poor man on the ground, and goes back to frisk the dead guards for a radio...

If he finds one He tries to tune it into the frequency that Kyra and Co. are using to report in that he's found Mettle, and requires extraction.

Moving swiftly to the twitching monstrosity Dev grabs the creature by the head and neck and wrenches it, breaking it's neck with a horrible snap. Letting it fall to the floor with a sickening thud, he turns to Mettle, and focusing for a moment turns into his original Nazzadi form.

'Mettle, can you hear me!' he says, as he goes to work on the broken man's bonds, 'I'm with Kyra, we're here to save you'.

Working quickly Devereux frees Mettle and assesses his condition.

My wound level when I left combat was 31, it jumps down to not impacting me when it hits 16, and I regen 2/5 seconds, so can I get a ruling on what my Vitality is sitting at atm? I'll go with it still being above 16 till told otherwise

Dev silently observes the creature slither into the room with disgust, but he keeps focused, raising an arm to aim a poison pod at it, while he waits for the perfect shot he muses about what the traitorous humans would think of the broken corpse of one of their hellish officers.

After aiming for one round, he fires...

there is no dodge to this, so it's a hit. 3d10 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14 => 6+2+4+10-1=21
Damage:5d10 ⇒ (8, 1, 2, 4, 8) = 23
Poison:Role a hard tenacity test or loose actions per turn for 1d10 ⇒ 8 minutes.

Devereux hisses silently and swiftly positions himself above the door the slithering is coming from and readies his poisoned thorns, This time will be different he thinks.

Exhaling silently, Dev takes a few minutes to regain his breath before creeping out of the room. Deciding to stick with the roof for now he continues to explore the building.

He will continue on through the building, looking for signs *scratches head and tries to remember why I'm in this building, seemed like a good idea at the time :P* Hostages?

Alrighty, timing goes likes this and we'll see how it pans out... I've got 3 actions a round I can play with, and I'll roll you a stealth check in advance for you.
Stealth:3d10 ⇒ (2, 8, 8) = 18 => 8+8+10=26; Why can't I get rolls like that when I'm trying to kill something...

Wrenching his arm free of the wall Devereux lunges towards the hapless Gaunt, powering his fist into its skull. With the gaurds fast approaching his body shimmers and in the time it takes to blink he is out of sight.

Casting his eyes around the room, and with time ticking away he jumps straight up to the roof, and slowely makes his way over to above the doorway (If the guards burst in through the door he still continues along).

Panting after his close encounter he moves swiftly, aiming a killing blow at the creature before going invisible and climbing onto the roof above the door, watching and waiting.

Not sure how this plays out, can you do coup'de gras[sp] in ChtulhuTech? Do I need to roll to hit, damage etc? sorry for being a noob... I'll get the swing of this eventually.

Also, when out of combat will you track my regen?

Furious at being pinned, Shade swings his spare arm around and lets loose a poisoned dart at the Gaunt.

Damage:5d10 ⇒ (5, 7, 9, 4, 6) = 31, Also, it says shots 2, what does that mean?
Poison:1d10 ⇒ 7 If target fails a hard Tenacity Feat Test it looses two actions per turn for 7 minutes

First Action

No sound comes from Devereux (Who has been given the nickname Shade, might keep that actually) as the creature rips into him, but anyone within a short range of him hears a scream from deep inside their mind.

He turns on the creature attacking him and starts to rip into it with both hands.

1st fist:1d10 ⇒ 2 => 2+9=11
2nd fist:2d10 ⇒ (1, 8) = 9 => 8+9=17

Second Action

He continues to rip into the creature.

1st fist:2d10 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 => 2+9=11
2nd fist:1d10 ⇒ 9 => 9+9=18

If i'm reading damage right then I get to add 3 dice to the damage done, 1 for the spikes, and 2 for my strength.

Caaarefulll he thinks as he tries to open the window, if it wont open because it's latched, he breaks a pain as carefully as he can to get to the latch, if that fails, he decides to take a risk and break through the window fully.

Devereux quickly works through his options, and decides to try infiltrate the building from one of the upper level windows.

He moves from his position to a spot against the wall about 25 Yards away from the thugs and starts to scale the wall, heading for the nearest window. Upon reaching it, he looks inside for signs of life, and then tries to open it.

Tagers have microhooks on their hands and feet, I can climb any surface.

Do I see any windows on the upper level of the warehouse open, if so I climb the wall to them, otherwise I head to the roof looking for skylights or air vents.

Hissing silently at the appearance of the Shabus Morgo, 'We've got a Shabus Morgo out by the warehouse, i'm going to carry on through to the warehouse, there are dhoanoids holed up in there. I'm not going to be much good out here against these monsters, take care, I'll probably be out of range for further communication.'

With a thought he vanishes without even so much as a puff of smoke, still keeping to the shadows as best he can he makes for the warehouse, his priority to take out the dhoanoids. muust killll themm... his inner voice eggs him on, the urges to take their lives stronger then he thought possible.

I'll roll with invisibility, which requires an incredibly hard observation test when I'm moving, here's a stealth roll as well though, 3d10 + 10 ⇒ (6, 6, 9) + 10 = 31 => 6+6+10=22
Fear test 1:5d10 + 15 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 6, 3) + 15 = 36 => 3+4+5+6+15=33
Fear test 2:5d10 + 15 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 8, 3) + 15 = 37 => 2+3+4+5+15=29

OK, I'm a lil' confused at combat... What I want to do is move within range of my poison needles to the Shabus Morgo and attempt to paralyse it. but it's telling me my range is 25/60/170?? with 'Shots 2'. And do I use my Marksman skill? Sorry to be a pain.

Devereux taps his commlink, 'I'm going to scout out ahead, I'll stay within communication range.'

He finds a dark corner and sheds his clothes and gun, the transition getting easier every time, OK, you're up big guy.

The voice that Kyra and Cythery hears still causes them to blink, [b]'We will stay within 400' of you in constant contact.'[b]

Advancing towards the warehouse he instinctivly stays within the shadows, constantly scanning for signs of life.

Any life he spots he uses his Scan ability on, works within 100 yards.

'Damnit, this city was supposed to be secure! Kyra, hold on i'm going with you, sounds like you'll need some help out there.' When the elevator doors open he follows Kyra to the Sabertooth transporter, wasting no time in finding a seat.

At the smell of the coffee, Devereux whips out a terranote of his own and hands it to the Dr. 'I'll be damned if I'm sharing a mug with someone /that/ slimey he thinks.', 'I'll grab a cup of that myself if you don't mind, I've been hankering for a good coffee.'.

Devereux responds to Winstons question with a shrug, 'I don't claim to know all the answers, from what my new "friend" lets on he can be hard to detect through normal means, so there is more to Dr. Keter then just a pretty face', he grimaces at the mental image of Dr. Keter.

To no-one in particular, 'This classified nonsense gets up my nose sometimes... However, given how dangerous some of that stuff was we are going to have to be on our toes at all times capturing these artifacts, who knows what might happen.'

He falls silent as his PCPU jumps to life, 'Looks like we're going to have to move, sight seeing time is over. Finding whatever it is that landed in the city could be like hunting for a needle in a haystack, we might be better off leaving it to the team here and focus our attention on our mission.' he says after Czerny finishes.

Today just keeps getting weirder and weirder, 2 weeks ago I was barking orders at some idiot cadets, and now I'm working for a secret organisation, in a multi-dimensional sentient cave, the host of a... a... a creature. And to top it all off I'm standing in a white lab listening to some freak asking Chelsea if he can c....

'You what now!' He barks, before realising at that level of volumn everyone has his attention, lowering his voice he continues, 'How dare you ask a girl to volunteer for something like that. Fair enough if she wants to put herself in harms way, that's a choice for her to make, not for you to ask.'

Rolling up his sleeve he steps forwards Can't be any worse then the last time some freak cut me. He muses, 'Here, get it over with.'

Devereux makes a light comment, 'How bad can it be eh?', giving Winston a wink. Then he follows Dr. Keter down the hall.

Devereux mutters 'Better be good' and stands up, walking over to the door he looks around to see if anyone objects, if they don't he stands as tall and intimidating as he can and opens the door. 'Mr. Keter, please enter.'

Happy that everybody had a good look at him and wasn't going to shoot on sight in a combat setting, Devereux disapears, causing those who were looking at him's eyes to water as they tried to focus on the spot he once was. door opens, door shuts. *poof*

Several minutes later, Devereux walks back into the room and takes his seat, muttering something about having to try convice the hive to make him a cafe.

'Agreed Alastair. I can provide recon on Enemy troops prior to combat. I wont be able to help out much against enemy mechs, but I can infiltrate artillery bunks ahead of the strike to give you time to get up close and personal. I also have the ability (in my other form) to shoot paralytic needles for silent takes downs.

SM Atkinson listens to Winston The man is good, when he's not trying to get himself killed, I'll give him that.

Standing up from the plushy chair he was relaxing in he speaks in a softer voice then Winston, but with just as much authority, 'I left the group earlier today because I needed to clear my head, I was in a pretty bad state of depression and I thought a walk might help. The Hive directed me to a room and made it quite clear that it wanted me there. For reasons I'm not quite clear on I was offered to undergo a ritual by a woman I have not seen before. And, given the circumstances, and some personal reasons, I found myself agreeing to it.

I want you to know that no matter what you see next, I am in full control.

After this, Devereux excuses himself from the room, where he strips down in the hall, not wanting his clothes to get butchered by the transformation.

*poof*

The door swings open, but you see and hear nothing, the door shuts again.

Then, in the time it takes for you to blink a 6' tall monster is standing by Devereux's chair, The face of the thing has several bony protrusions dripped with a vaguely honey-colored effluvium below twin sets of obscenely shining obsidian eyes. Its massive arms are riddled with frost-toned spines and spikes, all horridly sharp and moving almost imperceptibly with menacing grace, like the poisoned tentacles of an underwater predator. It has reverse-articulated legs ending in sharp but strangely silent tri-partite hooves. (Your description was perfect DM Downrightamazed, I'm poaching it :P)

As you stare at the creature, you hear a voice invading your mind, it is slow and deep, 'Wwee aarree SShhaaddoww'.

Hard Observation Test:
You see a man sized shimmer enter the room, but you find it hard to put any features to it, you find yourselfs straining just to keep track of it. It makes its way to besides Devereux's chair.

Walking into the Hanger Devereux is dressed smartly in his uniform, and feeling someone safer with his sidearm now within easy reach. He smells like someone skipped the soap stange in the washing process however, and went straight onto the harsh chemicals.

Spying an officer, he walks briskly over and salutes, 'Sergeant Major Atkinson sir'. He then turns to John, 'Sorry about the absense, needed some fresh air, and the Hive took me on somewhat of a journey. Whats the plan?

'Winston, calm down, it's still me. Look, why don't you walk with me out of this place, you'll feel better, and I'll try explain as best I can.' Devereux says in what he hopes is his most soothing voice.

If Winston agrees to leave with him he talks while walking, otherwise he stays there and tries to explain it. If they're walking he's making his way to his room.

'Look, I'll be honest with you, I'm not 100% sure what just happened. Let's start from the beginning, why I left you guys.

You of all people know that sometimes everything gets too much, well, I had one of those times, seeing the wonder of this place bought back memories of the lie I had been taught to believe, all the things I used to think were great which didn't exist at all. While walking I was led to this place, admitedly the decor wasn't so bad when I came in the first time.

There was a girl there, and she told me I had been chosen, and to take a seat. As if to agree, the Hive put a wall behind me. I was in such a terrible low at the time the thought of doing something which might kill me and end it all seemed like a good idea, I honestly didn't consider any other consequences.'

Devereux sighs, 'I don't know why what has just happened has happened, but I have become bonded with a being from another dimension, and while this being is completely alien, it is still me in control.'

Turning to face Winston (Assuming they've been walking), he says, 'Please, can I trust you not to tell the others what you've seen, at least not until I have had time to process everything and find some answers for myself.'

Devereux looks down at Winston, then slowely around, breathing in the new sensations. After what seemed like an age of torture it was over, whatever it was.

Suddenly, he felt an urge to feel his own flesh, and a surge of panic struck him, What if I'm stuck this way? he thinks. As soon as he thinks it he feels his body begin to change, the spines that cover his body shrink back into his flesh, his legs reform and he shrinks in stature back to his normal nazzadi form.

Reaching a hand down to Winston he says 'It's alright, come on, lets get you out of here and cleaned up, I need to get dressed too, then we better find the others.'
