eakratz posting as Denison Delgado, a well travelled arcane duelist who came to Carrion Hill several months ago.

Background:
Denison is a fun-loving high energy Varisian wanderer. He grew up traveling with his family's caravan on a route that took them from Caliphas down to Katheer. His part of the caravan was playing the lute while his cousin sang. Sometimes he acted in the plays, but other than the stunts and swordplay, he was no natural on stage. During stays in larger cities, he sometimes ran one of the cups tables; but he wasn't terribly successful at that. He believes that he was set up as a decoy to drive business to the puppeteers, but it doesn't bother him. He was better at cantrips and song anyways. One day the Madre decided that he was to be formally trained as a bard at the Kitharodian Acadamy in Oppara after she realized he would not be making much coin for the caravan as a gambler or shyster, and his lute skills seemed to have peaked.
At the college, although he took his studies seriously, he also took to living it up during this time. He managed to scandalize a number of noble families with dalliances with daughters who were sent to the school to find a husband of good blood. Upon graduation, he went back to the caravan to work the crowds as a magician and played his lute for the evening performances. Although he loved the life, was secure in his wealth, he longed for more. With the Madre's blessing, he once again left the caravan for the life of an adventurer.
He naively answered the call of a Chelaxian noble named Julistar who was forming an archaelogical team called "Her Majestrix's Expeditionary.' At first, the explorations he new team went on excited him to no end, and he grew richer than ever before. The team did many explorations among the pyramids of Osirion, the jungles of Mwangi; he spent quite a bit of time in Absalom. But on one expedition, he learned the true deviousness of his cohorts when they were up against a rival adventuring party in search for clues for some device Julistar was looking for. They ended up setting a malicious trap for this other group of adventurers, who died horribly in the fires. It made him sick that he would be a part of murdering several people just because they were in the way of his team's goals. Later that day, Denison took the rearguard during their exploration, and purposely tripped a trap that sealed the rest of the team in. He grabbed everything he could and booked the first passage north as far as he could get knowing that Julistar try and get revenge. He gave up the adventuring life, but couldn't yet go back to face his family.
He remembered an old adventurer that was part of his inspiration to take on the trade himself in the city of Carrion Hill. Old Man Marshan. Marshan, who hadn't seen Denison since before he left for college, was ecstatic that the young man had come to visit. He laughed off Denison's concerns of revenge from his old team. "That sort of shiite happens all the time!" Mashan put him up for a few days, asking for payment occasional songs and that he share stories of Ancient Osirion over scotch with him and an acquaintance, a historian by the name of Arlend Hyve. Denison agreed and for the next several months, he met with the two over drinks at nearly every establishment that would pour a quality spirit. Of late, they have had another guest has joined the trio in their discussions, Councilwoman Dimyain. Dimyain and Denison have developed a flirtatious banter that both Marshan and Arlend have both noticed as something that could develop into a budding romance.

Description:
Denison is a naturally fun-loving and gregarious Varisian man. He loves life and lives it to the fullest, whether it drink, gambling, women, or adventure. He has the typical dusky skin of a Varisian coupled with raven-black hair and large, green eyes. He has the build of fighter, but slightly more lithe. He moves with the grace of a fencer and acrobat. He dresses as a Varisian, in a multitude of colors including his orange scarf, a blue vest, and pink handkerchief. One might notice that he doesn't have a touch of green on him.

Regarding Background:

Reason in Carrion Hill
After he ran from Julistar, he didn't know where else to go. This is where his inspiration to adventure lives.
Connections
Old Man Marshan - Denison was fond of listening to his stories as a boy when his caravan was stopped in Carrion Hill, and he was the first person he thought to turn to when he ran from Her Majestrix's Expeditionary
Arlend Hyve - They meet for drinks every Wealday to exchange stories and history.
Councilwoman Dimyain - She has recently been invited to join the weekly discussions by Arlend.
Three significant events
1) He was not enthralled with the life of a gypsy, and sought ways to leave including going to bardic college and beginning the life of an adventurer. Part of this was the impatience of youth. He had yet to master the arts his caravan routinely used and it was frustrating.
2) He took part of the murder of a rival adventuring party, became disgusted with himself, and betrayed his team. His new friends have forgiven him.
3) Umm...still working on a third.
Cherished Item
An gold amulet inlaid with ivory and obsidian that his family's Madre gave him before he set off on his adventures.
Job
He makes a living performing magic tricks and playing the lute in taverns or for parties.

Kratzee posting as Denison with a mostly complete character sheet.

Education:
Denison was trained in the art of the Arcane Duel in Oppara, Taldor at the Kitharodian Acadamy, a bardic college of high esteem. Although he took his studies seriously, he also took to living it up during this time. He managed to scandalize a number of noble families with dalliances with daughters who were sent to the school to find a husband of good blood. Upon graduation, he enrolled in the Andoran Navy, who believed that a bard would be a great boon to the crew. There they trained him the art of sailing and fighting shipboard; and he was the ship's cryer.

Lucender, how do you feel about this trait? I worked it into his background.

Shackles Seafarer: You're familiar with the treacherous coastlines, currents, and tides of the Shackles, and can use that knowledge anywhere. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Knowledge (nature) and Knowledge (geography) checks while on the ocean. You also gain a +1 trait bonus on Swim checks, and Swim is always a class skill for you.

Amended background:
Denison is a fun-loving high energy Andoran Privateer. He earned his letter of marque two yeasr ago and since then has been hunting the high seas for pirates and slavers aboard the Mermaid's Honor underneath Captain Gertie Adenbough. He had requested this particular ship after hearing of the tales about the extreme exploits of this particular captain. He soon learned that "extreme exploits" are two other words for "suicidal bravery." He relished it. As a private aboard the caravel he took part in more raids than he could count. He soon grew a small fortune from his shares in salvaged pirate and slave ships.

A year ago the the Mermaid's Honor was in hot pursuit of a slave-ship out of Katapesh to Mediogalti. Unfortunately, during a freak storm out of the Eye of Abendego, he was washed overboard and ashore on Slitherfish Island. From there, he journeyed to Ilizmagorti hiding from Merry Widows and Red Mantis trainees. From there he had to hire on with the very types of pirates he was hunting; but he made sure it at least was not a slave ship. Mostly through sheer luck he survived the pirate stronghold and passage to The Shackles, where he had to commit some minor atrocities just past the muster with the cutthroat pirates. He justifies the, what he considers, crimes to himself based on the fact that those on the receiving end were ruthless pirates, slaves, and murderers; the very same type of scum he's sent down Mermaid's plank. Of course, until then he had never participated in keelhauling anyone; an act he regrets utterly and prays to Sarenrae often.

After a year of living as a pirate based out of the Shackles, he deserted and booked passage on the first vessel leaving port, which happened to be heading to Senghor. From their he book passage again on the Velvet Rose. Eventually, he hopes to make it back to his native land of Andoran, but is not sure how. And if he does, he doesn't know if he can face is old compatriots again.

Kratzee posting as Dr. Delgado, archaeologist explorer of far away and remote places. I am recycling an avatar from a game that has never made it to the first encounter in order to keep the number my aliases down.

I'm building the crunch first because I don't have time for a detailed history right now, but he has ties to the Pathfinder Society, is a post-graduate student at a university in Absolom and has a thirst for adventure that gets him into trouble often.

Edit: How are you doing languages, Core or Inner Sea World Guide?

Actu ally I might not be keeping this avatar pic. Enjoy it while you can ;)

Edit: Oops, I am applying this guy to another thread and accidentally posted here. On second thought, we can apply with up to three characters so I guess I can let this guy stand.

I overextended myself again. I can't keep up with the posting for this game.
So, NightTrace and Guru, you can fight for my spot. This game has a lot of potential but I don't have the time. I'm bowing out. Thank you Pentor for the brief game for me.

Denny, who doesn't own a shovel, helps gather timber to be used as pikes for the defenses.

"I'm going with Doc here. Never underestimate a woman that can rest a beer on her head while she....ah, I'll take last watch." Denny finishes his tumbler of Oldlaw and turns in.

So should we put up a vote to be the Glee Wolves? ;P

We still have inspire courage through my character, so the party is losing nothing. Of course, going into battle marching to bagpipes is cool...

Mutagen is an "alchemical bonus" and rage is a "morale bonus" so they should. Ho damn!

I'm seriously debating taking Medium Armor Proficiency as my first level feat. It seems like such a waste considering it's a hand-out to most classes. Maybe I'll just dip to another class next level.

I would have a hard time taking that feat as well. Of course, you can always multi with Drunken Brute Barbarian. I have visions of a drunk kilt wearing dwarf blasting away with a mortar.

"Oi!" I be outta shells. I guess I'll 'ave to do this the 'ard way!" He downs a pint in a split second and roars as he runs down the hill. "Chaaaaaaaaarge!"

Edit: Oh man, if I lose a character in a RL campaign I am very tempted to do this. Time to mock up build :D

Anyone want to suggest two languages for me to take? I forgot to add them.

"I'd conquer Taldor if the money's right. And a woman's a woman, wherever she's from. From the fair-skinned beauties of Mendev to the chocolate colored l honeys of Mwangi. I'd give them all the fair shake as long as the bounce right. I remember this one exotic beut back in my college days. She hailed from a place called Tian. I still don't know where that is, but man I never saw another like her. And then there was this Ulfen chic. Boy, don't ever make them mad." He lifts up his shirt just enough to show a scar of what may have been a life threatening wound at one time before he goes on and on about the lasses that he and his friends used to chase back at the bardic college.

Perform (act) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Denny thanks Ryuko and then listens to the Corporal's drunken speech. He He stands, and assumes a posture eerily like the squad leaders.

"Allright you worthless apes. I don't want to hear no more b%*##in'. We gots hiccup a nice fine mission clearing rats outta basements. Volunteered the Steer Wolves fir it meself. He takes a sip of Oldlaw but pretends he drains the whole cup. He clumsily wipes spittle off of his lips and stumbles over to the corporal's pack. "I guess I best be packing this gear here. Don't want to forget nothin cuz of no hangover...I mean headache." Still assuming Icy's mannerisms, he stuffs equipment into the pack, making sure the most useful stuff is in the bottom.

Doh. I thought the threads were etched in stone. Of course we can start a new thread.

Or no wave beneath the paw, making us buck privates

maybe e-1 is just the paw, e-2 is one crest of a wave, with 3-4 crests making a single row under the paw for an e-3 or 4?

I think should end at six or 8....

Supreme leader has something above the paw......

+1

wave tattoo

The paw could be in the center, and the ranks wrap around.

Kicking back with his feet near the fire, the dark blond bard leans against his backpack staring at the stars. He sips sparingly from a cup containing a fingers worth of Oldlaw Whiskey, a taste he grew to enjoy sneaking from his old man's liquor cabinet.

I think the name may be moot since the in game thread already has us being the Sea Wolves. As for the waves, I can see using the waves to designate rank. Us Privates have one wave below the paw.

I like the idea of the wolf's paw but I'm not so hot on the waves.

Our ranks could be tattoos as well.

So we currently have 2 votes for Steel Wolves, 1 for Sea wolves. 4 votes to settle.

Are you including Monkey and me or Monkey and you for the votes for the Steel Wolves.? If that is your vote, then that would be three for Steel.

Are we doing average starting gold?

I think I am liking Steel Wolves over Sea Wolves. Maybe a brand instead of a tattoo to show how tough we are.

I used the core rulebook and APG. the traits I just got from the Faction Guide and Cheliax Guide. I linked my abilities to the PRD and Nethys's website.

kratzee posting as Denison "Denny" Delgado, an Arcane Duelist who plans on playing some Dirty Tricks.

Tallashan nods once, satisfied, and points down the road to the left. "That is the Lost Coast Road," he says in his low voice. "Windsong Abbey is no more than three hours' travel that way." He raises his hands, murmurs again, and is gone.

Denison watches the venture captain disappear, turns to Jentraxian, and says, "I guess we go that way." He starts trudging up the road, using his glaive like a walking stick.

I was tempted to go with CLW spells. I have never played a cleric so I wonder if that would be a bad choice, considering channelling energy and spontaneously changing any spell to CLW gives a cleric a lot of opportunities to heal. I am thinking Comprehend Language, Obscuring Mist, Summon Monster, and one other.

I still have 50 gp to spend, but not sure on what. I was thinking about scrolls but before I did that, I wanted to know if 1) are they allowed and 2) I took the scribe scroll feat so should I try to scribe the scrolls to double the pleasure or by them at full value? Basically, 2 or 4 scrolls.

Aha, it works, but my main alias is Kratzee. Oh man.

For the love of dot! Dot, dot it!

dotting this. Chops is the only one that is able to dot. I dot know why.

I tend to build right to my character sheet on here, instead of writing up everything than post it. Last night, I got distracted by 24 in the middle of my history, so I will have it finished real soon, if not by when you read this.

Chops/Denny checking in as a gardner turned cleric.
