Male LN sylph investigator (empiricist) 1 | HP: 7/7 | AC: 15 (T: 13, F: 12) | CMB: +2, CMD: 15 | F: -1, R: +5, W: +3 | Init: +3 | Perc: +6, SM: +5 | Speed 35ft | Inspiration (1d6): 4/4 | Extracts: 1st 2/2 | Active conditions: None.

Seeing that Odebie appears to have the pogonas under control, Osric redirects to the shop owner. "I'll take this response to mean you know something, but don't want to share. I'm disappointed."

With a quick motion he mounts the shelves and rapidly ascends, waiting for the owner to make her way to the top. "Can we just skip to the end and get our answers without excess property damage?"

Once again a double move. One to get to the shelves, one to climb them. I've got a 20' Climb speed. Let me know if I need to roll, I can get a 24 if I take 10.

Ifrit is definitely Italian and it's pretty common for ifrits to throw in certain words of their own language, even when having a conversation in Common.

High Ifrit is Latin. I'm planning on using Vietnamese for Undine. Benthic would best be represented with Simplified Chinese. I wanted to do a Native American language for Oread, but let's keep it simple with something that's on Google translations - Zulu. Sedime is Afrikaans. Irish for Sylph. Welsh for Maker Script.

Arabic for Geni. Amharic for Eleme.

Kinvara's profile has been updated to include her background, personality, and appearance. I believe this makes her submission complete.

Background, Appearance, and Personality:

Born with hooves, scales, horns, and a tail, Kinvara was left on the doorstep of the old Sandpoint Chapel. No-one knows who left her there or where they might have come from or gone to. Growing up in the Turandarok Academy, she was always looked at as an outsider, nobody ever really trusted the little girl with the horns and hooves. She was frequently the butt of jokes behind her back. Often the victim of bullying, sometimes showing up at dinner with cuts and bruises.

Kinvara would often sneak away to watch the goblins down on the beach. She managed to befriend Gorvi and his crew so they did not turn her in when they spotted her at the cliff. As she got older, she leveraged her small size to earn a little spending cash. She would squeeze into spaces too large for most and set rodent traps at the various inns and taverns. She would dump the corpses over the cliff with the dung. With the Late Unpleasantness she did her best to remain hidden in any inaccessible location she could find.

Even as she grew into a young woman Kinvara was still petit and many underestimated her years. Standing well under five feet and weighing 6 stone, 11 pounds. Her dark, short cropped hair frames the horns that grow from her head. Strange violet eyes look with suspicion from a face covered in small iridescent scales. Her small cloven hooves make surprisingly little noise as she steps. Her dark leather clothes are covered with various pockets and pouches. A dexterous tail emerges from behind her, constantly making sure none of her belongings have gone missing.

Having born the brunt of many years of ridicule, Kinvara is guarded and wary of others. She often protects herself with wry sarcasm, but tends to be more rude than humorous. She gets along with few others because of her acerbic personality. Once a lack of I'll intent has been proven, she is willing to do almost anything to maintain that relationship

At some point I'd like to play Wrath of the Righteous, but I've just started Iron Gods and a Rise of the Runelords game, so it will probably be a bit before I can dedicate time to it.

I took a quick look at the discussion thread for the other table.

First I'd like to say I'm glad to have wound up in this group (and that's all that I'll say on that matter).

And second, can you give us a quick summary of Judge Ironbriar and Xanesha? Those names were mentioned over there, but not here and I'd like to have some idea of that piece of our history.

Background:

The Sarna family has lived in Kassen for years. Triben Sarna is a member of the forestry guild. He works as a scout and climber. Ilessa Sarna is a maid at the mayors manor. For the last few years Rylka has worked as a barmaid at the Seven Silvers. During off days she spends time in the woods trapping game. Her father has always been secretly disappointed that Rylka is a girl, he was hoping to have a son to tech woodcraft to.

Lately Jimes has been teaching her the arts of pickpocketing and lockpicking. She doesn't want to jeprodize her job with the Silvers or her friendship with Asina, so she hasn't tried skimming change like "Short Change". She does, however, like to slip trinkets into her pockets from travelers as they leave town. Once or twice she's been caught, but she's also pretty good at slipping away.

Personality:

Rylka enjoys spending time with Asina. She sees the young human girl as both a younger and older sister. Spending time giving advice like an older sister, and taking advantage of Asina's larger size like a little sister. Rylka often eavesdrops using her small size and stealth to remain unnoticed, or by playing the innocent and convincing others to tell her things that they wouldn't tell others. She often passes these tidbits to Asina for her to spread, so that the blame never comes back to her.

Appearance:

Rylka looks like a young girl to the untrained eye. At just over two and a half feet tall and not even 30 pounds, her small size belies her nearly adult age of 22 years. When working at the tavern she usually wears a flowing blouse and skirt. When out in the woods she wears an outfit of leather breaches and pocketed vest. Either way she wears her dark hair in a pair of braids wrapped in a bun in the back.

About Me:

New to PbP, but have been playing d20 since it came out (and 2nd Edition AD&D before that). Haven't gotten into PFS much (just started my first PFS game last week). Even my PF experience has been mostly homebrew campaign worlds, so Golarion is still kinda new to me. Been lurking on these boards for years and life has recently made IRL sessions more difficult, so I'm trying to get into more PbP. Have been disappointed in the posting rate of most games I've been accepted into. This sounds like just the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Re: caring too much - I dislike the implication that the people who get upset by these sorts of things are just taking the game too seriously. While I never consider the time spent to make a character wasted, it can be frustrating to devote your time to one of these recruitments that never takes off when you could've directed it to another one that does. And to be honest, it does make me more wary about applying to future recruitments unless I'm familiar with the GM or they've been around the forums for awhile - which sucks because I'm all in favor of supporting new GMs.

What I'm having trouble understanding, then, is what exactly is at stake. From where I sit I see two things: one's time, and one's emotional attachment to a character. If it is the case that one's time cannot be wasted (or that said time is negligible even if lost), then the only thing at significant risk is the latter. Assuming this to be true, I question why one would choose to become so invested in a character - especially for recruitments that are still in progress (real or otherwise). As someone stated above, the number of players often outweighs GMs and thus chances are never great that one will get into to this or that specific game. I'd also put forward that there is no reason one should limit themselves to only one recruitment at a time, unless that person is only setting aside enough time to devote to those specific recruitments and their potential games.

One could make the case, I suppose, for losing trust in new GMs or becoming jaded with the process in general. To that I would counter that it is simply unfair to hold a bias against new or inexperienced GMs and that at least some amount of trust is owed to those people for putting themselves forward in that manner.

I maintain my own standards that I use to judge potential/active games and on more than one occasion I have left a thread that failed to meet those expectations (Echoing Diego Rossi above, there is nothing wrong if one joins...

The other option is people getting fed up with PbP as a medium and reducing the available players and GMs on these forums. If we lose players who might someday become GMs, we lose something from the community. If a new player gets burned by a troll, they may turn around and say that all PbP games are likely like that. Then Paizo's forum starts to gain that reputation and that causes us to lose future members.

Personally I've taken to making characters with reusable names. And not making an alias until accepted. I used to feel that making an alias for recuitement showed a certain professionalism about the process, but it just isn't worth it anymore.
