Character Details:

Goal: Demaiv is searching for his father, whom his mother claimed to be a Copper dragon.
Reason to be in Sandpoint: Demaiv actually grew up in Sandpoint. He left when he was 15, leaving behind his mother. He knew with his sorcerous powers, he could defend himself pretty well, and set off to search for his father. It has been three years of travel, and Demaiv is now 18. Though the search for his father has been fruitless, he has learned a considerable amount of Draconic lore, including their language. He has decided to return home to see his mother. He has sent her letters, but never received a response (as he never stayed in one place long enough), and so knows nothing of the current state of affairs in Sandpoint.
Description: Demaiv is 6'1", set with broad shoulders and thick arms. He weighs in around 230lbs. Despite this heavy-set appearance, Demaiv looks more akin to a scholar than a warrior, except maybe for a fierce glint in his copper-flaked blue eyes. Like many Varisians, he is dusty-skinned. His long brown hair is typically pulled into a ponytail or braided, so it doesn't interfere with combat. He is wearing layered cloth, with a top-layer being copper-coloured silk patterned with dragons. Overtop of this clothing, Demaiv wears a necklace with a Copper dragon foot charm on it (a symbol of his worship of Apsu). The ease with which Demaiv carries his spear belies his scholarly appearance.
Personality: Demaiv is a generally light-hearted fellow, but is serious in his pursuit of both his father, and of everything Draconic. His devotion to Apsu has lead him to be somewhat dismissive of other, "lesser" gods, though he would never say anything outright provocative. Unless he is actively pursuing a lead related to something Draconic, Demaiv tends to be absent-minded, often seeming lost in thought.

Detailed Gear explaination:
Explorer's Outfit - As a wanderer, Demaiv prefers practical clothing, rather than fancy clothes.
Spear - Though the followers of Apsu tend to prefer the quarterstaff, Demaiv thinks of a spear simply as a quarterstaff with a claw on the end. The tip is sheathed when not in use, and Demaiv uses it like a walking stick. Near the spear tip there is a small dragonfoot symbol etched into the wood. (Demaiv's own handiwork)
Light Crossbow (30 bolts) - Demaiv was never able to master a bow, despite his Strength and so carries a crossbow, just in case. Clipped to his belt. Bolt quiver is also tied to the belt, and carries 10 bolts at a time.
Silken Ceremonial Armor - Demaiv acquired this piece in Absalom, and thought it almost divinely perfect. The armor doesn't interfere with his casting motions, yet still provides a bit of protection against both attacks, and the cold. He also likes the dragon patterning and the colour.

Bedroll - See packback. The bedroll is slung beneath the backpack in the standard style.
Holy Symbol, Copper - Demaiv's holy symbol of Apsu. In lieu of casting components, Demaiv tends to use this piece as a focus (even though not required.) [Sidenote: I didn't know the price for this, since all that's given is silver and wood. I paid 10gp for it.]
Notebook: This is a small notebook, in which Demaiv keeps observations of Draconic lore, and other important notes. If he's not in combat or a social situation, he's either absorbed in re-read his notes in this book, or writing in it. [I paid 3gp for this.]
