Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of physical APs that you can have on one non-subscription order? I hope to use the Paizo holiday coupon for maximum effect and want to know if I should plan ahead. Thank you!

There will be a sale, yes. The blog is written and will go live at 12:01 AM 11/25/21.

Thank you! Both for responding to my off the cuff post as well as for the sale to come!

May I ask a follow-up question? Will the current sale on physical 1st edition adventure paths expire before the new sale is active? I am interested in filling out some of my oldest AP collections. If so just let me know and I'll buy them now.

Free shipping for one order would be fantastic!

Last year they did a 25% of deal on digital downloads, which was great. I'm wondering if they'll repeat that or do something for physical. They have a lot of physical APs on sale however I haven't seen an announcement saying that's *the* Black Friday sale or if it's just a pre-sale sale.

I see lots of items for sale right now and there's a few old APs that I've wanted to fill gaps in.

Does anyone know what the plan is for Black Friday or Cyber Monday? I've not seen anything announced via email or blogs but I admit things fly by faster than I can read them sometimes. Is right now the best deal we'll see? (which is fine if it is, there are some great discounts)

This is probably just because I'm getting old, but I thought I recalled that 1e AP PDFs used to cost $10. Did I totally make that up in my head, or was there a price increase?

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Thank you! I'm excited to read through the AP from start to finish.

Good morning! I never received order #36668021. I followed the USPS tracking information to see that it ended up in a different city & state (weird), and from there simply disappeared (very weird).

My local Postmaster said that the label may have somehow been destroyed and wherever it has ended up isn't sure what to do with it. She said it may make its way back to you if there's enough info left to see the return address.

May I ask for a new shipment of this order? Thank you!

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Hello Customer Service companions!

Is there any way to see if these orders were returned to the warehouse? I received shipping notices however the AP books never arrived. I have since received the next AP in the series.

Absolutely the right call. And that was a fantastic example of crisis communication, I'd like to add.

Here's hoping that Gencon isn't forced to shut down this year as well!

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Nevermind, I found where to combine it with my AP shipment and the cost was normal. Still it's weird that it was quoting that crazy amount for normal shipping on it's own.

How big is that mini? :)

For that price, I'd hope it would be the life sized beholder from GenCon about 10 years ago! :]

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Good morning!

I have a mini in my Shopping Cart for $33.99 and it's charging me $521 to ship it. Not sure what I did wrong but I figure it's probably a PICNIC issue (problem in [my] chair, not in computer).

Subtotal (1 item) $33.99
Shipping & Handling $521.73
Order Total $555.72

Also, a second question, would it decrease the (actual) shipping cost to add this on to the next AP shipment or would it not make any real difference?

This is what I love about Paizo. It has the spirit of the company that WotC was when it bought what remained of TSR, before WotC sold out and became...well, let's not rehash the bad old days of The Edition Wars. Those were dark times indeed.

I rooted for Paizo when the company shut down for an entire day to determine if it would stick with 3.5 or move to 4.0. I recall the sudden surge of loyalty when I committed my final Dragon and Dungeon Magazine subscription fees to the new 'Adventure Path' subscription, which sounded really cool even if nobody knew what it actually was. Trusting in Golarion, a world unknown outside of Erik's personal gaming group, was leap into the dark against the giants of Forgotten Realms and Greyhawk.

It's all worked out pretty well, I'd say.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

On a somewhat related note, this is Year 3 for WotC being absent from the Dealers Hall of GenCon. I recall conversations in '13 along the lines of "Yeah, well wait until 5th edition comes out! They're gonna OWN that Hall!".

My group and I have an easygoing disagreement going on. They think Paizo will eventually buy the trademark of D&D when Hasbro decides to get out. I disagree with them; I don't think Paizo would want to dilute the brand awareness of Pathfinder by trying to maintain both brands.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I hate to do this but I need to ask you to suspend my subscriptions for awhile. I'll reach out to you to restart when I'm able to afford it again.

Keep up the great work Paizo! If I could I'd keep getting the APs but I have other expenses that take priority.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

The real question isn't what Paizo needs to do to compete with D&D Next, it's whether WotC will ever have an Exhibitor Hall presence again. Did anyone see the Dungeons of Dragonspear Castle book that's supposedly Next's "first impression" unveiling? I stumbled across it in an abandoned corner of somebody else's booth, completely ignored by all attendees, and without a single sign saying what it was. The cover was nice but inside art was downright embarrassing. Who drags 1st Ed artwork into 2013? And the cheap paper (soft bound even!) was just insult to injury. Good luck getting $30 for that.

Five years ago my hope was that 4th Ed would fail and Hasbro would sell D&D to Paizo. I got my first wish but at this point D&D isn't worth buying as it would just dilute the Pathfinder name. Dungeons & Dragons is destined to become the Chainmail of our generation.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I'm a Pathfinder AP Charter Subscriber and proud of it. However a recent change in employment has left me with far fewer dollars to spend and I'm contemplating ending my AP subscription after the current series.

I'd like to suggest an alternative: Paizo is a games publisher, not a book manufacturer. Why not offer a PDF only subscription model? Price it at $8.50 to give the subscribers a benefit like the free PDF for physical subscribers, and offer the 15% discount effective only on PDF products.

When the AP subscription model came out the add-on PDF was a 'hey, thanks' addition but now PDFs are the go-to default for a lot of gamers (myself included). Paizo has earned my dollars as the best gaming company in existence, and I want to continue to be a subscriber.

I'm so far behind in reading my PF APs that I'm still waiting to see who wins between ninjas and vikings. I don't want to cancel my subscription, but paying the monthly shipping is annoying when I'm not reading them for months after they arrive. Is there a way I can suspend shipping until an entire AP is published and then have it shipped at once?

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I have trolled for 5 minutes but have yet to find anyone talking about the cryptic line that started the announcement about Liz.

"Hot on the heels of the news that the Pathfinder RPG is now the leading hobby adventure game..."

I assume this means that PFRPG has surpassed D&D 4th Ed in sales? Or some other measurement?

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

I'd like to second the previous poster saying thank you. The Paizo crew is keeping D&D alive with products that I proudly spend my hard earned dollars on.

Odd, I swear I posted this message already but it never showed.

I bought a copy of the Advanced Player's Guide at GenCon (and got Eric Mona to sign it...WOOT!) and love it. I think I know the answer to this, but want to make sure. Should I have access to a PDF copy of the APG as well? I enjoy the PDF versions of each month's Pathfinder, and wasn't sure if the same PDF availability applied to core rulebooks as well.

Or is that an add-on? I'm used to my automatic PDF copies of the monthly Pathfinders, and didn't know if that carried into rulebooks.

Great Cosmo!

You have graciously offered to include the Council of Thieves #2 issue in my next shipment as it had not arrived at the time of my last thread. It just did this morning, covered in several obscure chalk markings that I guess meant the Post Office didn't know what it was for. I wonder where in the world this copy has been.

At any rate, please save Paizo the money of shipping me a new one.

Merry Christmas!

I see that my order for AP#27 is being shipped, but I fear I've still not received AP#26. Can you help?

I'm not sure if PF 19 has shipped yet. It shows up as "pending" when I check on my subscription and for some reason the product URL says that the PDF version won't be released until April 15. Perhaps that also applies to the printed version of PF19?

Awhile back they shipped 2 PFs at the same time, but the advance email notification detailed what was happening. I thought maybe it was happening again, except the email notification only said #20 was coming. Don't want to miss out on #19!

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Greetings, oh powerful customer service folks!

I have just received notification that I'm about to get PF20, but have not gotten PF19. I also don't see it in My Downloads either, so I assume my subscription was held for that month? Whatever happened, I would love to get both PFs.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

On an unrelated note: Put me down in the Solidly Paizo & Pathfinder Loyal Group. Judging from the number of Pathfinder Subscriber and Pathfinder Charter Subscriber titles, so are many others!

Now for the real question. I saw the first accidental Pathfinder $13.99 subscription charge on 4/21. No problem, because soon after I saw the "Oops!" email. But today I see what appears to be another billing on 4/25 for $13.99, rather than a credit? Is my credit card company incorrect?

WHOAH. Being a corporate guy myself, I understand how that's a real good way to cause massively multi-person brain explosions through inadvertently pre-releasing product info! How do you find out about it? Does someone have on their desktop an auto-refresh page on Paizo's offerings within Amazon?

We did in fact recently produce our first comprehensive product catalog; you should get one in every order you get from now on. We'll be doing them three times a year, adding new fulfillment partners' products and new Paizo products as we get them.

See? We really DO listen :-)

By every product order, do you include the monthly Pathfinder subscription? I know it's not a magazine, so as a real book does it count within the "in every order you get from now on"?

Lisa et. al.,

Just curious...what do you think of all the response so far? Is this what you expected? Are you surprised at the outpouring of support? What about Pathfinder...are you getting the subscriber volume that you hoped for in the first two days?

You have probably the most up to date list of active gamers in the world in the form of mailing lists for Dragon & Dungeon. I certainly hope you put that to good use to publicize Pathfinder!

James/Vic,

You guys replied at 3:30-4:30am? My gosh, besides going home and consuming food and drink, did you actually get any sleep? You realize you have a whole series of APs to plan for, not to mention an independent company to grow! Remember...If you don't have your health, you don't have anything!

This is the fourth time I've read the snippets about content in Pathfinder, and I find myself in an ever-increasing spiral of excitement. This is going to be an awesome product, with the same well crafted NPCs, enemies, stories, and situations.

Anyone who has enjoyed Dragon or Dungeon in the past should give it at least one issue's chance! Since it is basically the start of the fourth AP you may find it worth the extra cost, and then some!

Erik/James (whoever is editor of Burnt Offerings) - two of the most popular recent adventure concepts are anything within Maure Castle and dinner parties in Redhand. These diametrically opposed styles actually offer a banquet of opportunity to cherry-pick into Pathfinder. If you offer chance for both deadly combat in well detailed environments and sipping champagne with insane dictators, the Pathfinder series will succeed.

A few questions/suggestions:

1) As a DM, I often present ideas to my group for future campaigns several months in advance. I would love to give them a head's up about the new AP and see what they think (not that it'll stop me from buying the series; we can always play it later). Is there a two or three paragraph summary of what the AP is about that you can provide? That may help drive up interest (and thus sales) as well.

2) The introduction of a PDF version of the hard copy is a welcome and excellent addition. I would suggest enlisting veteran DMs to run Play by Post games of the AP, hosted by Paizo on these boards. It'd be a real-time commercial of the very product you're selling, not to mention excellent research material to incorporate into the next generation AP.

3) I really look forward to reading the editorials in the next few Dungeons (sorry Erik; this one really isn't a reply to your post). Paizo's employee attitude across the boards since the announcement has been one of hope and promise for the future, and I eagerly anticipate the words of wisdom that you'll enscribe!

To Erik, James, Joshua, Lisa, and Vic,

Although I am not the first to express this sentiment, I would like to state it quite clearly: Congratulations. This is an opportunity for Paizo to grow beyond the potted plant stage that was very nurturing early on, but has become stifling. OGL material in the marketplace started out quite shaky, during which you rode the wave of 3rd edition quite well to the crest of quality and consumer loyalty with Dungeon and Dragon. Given that many OGL-based publishers have blossomed to surpass WotC's publication content, you will catapult off of your mailing list of loyal customers and publishing knowledge base within the company to challenge the new market. If I was a competitor in the business of OGL-based publications, I would fear this day: a dire tiger has been released from its' chains, and set loose into the world.

I am proud to carry the label of Charter Subscriber of Pathfinder. I have not always agreed with your leadership decisions in regards to Dragon and Dungeon, most specifically regarding provocative cover art, but the quality of your material is peerless. I have converted the rest of my five year subscription into Pathfinder, have signed up for the month to month subscription, and fully intend to review and discuss them online with this community. My loyalty to Paizo and your future has never been higher.

As so many others around the world have expressed, I mourn the passing of Dungeon and Dragon. These staples of my roleplaying collection have been read, reread, memorized, worn out & replaced, and eventually stored as a complete set in vacuum sealed bags for preservation. I wish that the day had not come where I shall finish the series, but so be it. The world will not end, Paizo will move on...and WotC will rue the day that they chose perceived profit over customer loyalty.
