Dealan smiled as the wolfs bite ended just shy of him. MYLA STAB THEM WITH OATHKEEPER! the baker shouted to his squire. Protect the others! Unarmed and unarmored, the baker did not flinch from the wolf. He knew he couldn't hurt them, but he trusted his squire. His buckler was his only line of defense. He brought the small shield inline with the wolf. Bring it on wolfie. he said calmly. You aren't going to get by me. For Ryari! Full Defense action to raise my AC to 18.

Dealan grimaced but stood firm in his decision to not take his spear. Dammit! Who pissed off the forest! Myla use my spear! Man now that I think of it maybe I should have made a grappling build and gone the full Groundskeeper Willie Dealan tried to remember what those things Ryari had called upon were, hoping to gain allies, but quickly brushed that thought aside. As much as I would like to say I have armor, I clearly am not wearing it so AC would be down to...16 Bring it on you damn wolves! I won't let you hurt my allies. Dealan will move toward the nearest wolf, unarmed and unarmored. Ryari if you are out there I could use some help! he will call out as he moves.

perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Are you here? Dealan called. I'm back Dealan looked around carefully, hoping to see who he was looking for. It's Dealan. I brought some friends with me. We are heading out to the village but I can stay and catch up. Or you could come with us if you hear me. The baker will turn to the rest of the group. Don't mind me. Just checking to see if my... friend... is around.

Dealan sides off his horse and hands Myla his spear. Let us be on our way then, he said, taking the horse by the reins and starting down the path. Also Myla, Dealan said with a smile. Remeber that Faylinn needs to learn to do some real work. No reason to agree with her all the time.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Trimar I have a friend in there who I won't have hurt by a skittish knight or squire. Dealan said bluntly. This forest is an old one, full of fey and whatever can make a scale like this. Dealan pointed to his necklace. The forest can tell our intentions. I never had problems as a child but I can't tell if we will now. It is best to be safe and not have weapons out when anyone can get hurt.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
For the first time since he got it, Ser Garnett pulled out the necklace he received. The Forrest can easily kill you Ser Jonith, he will say. I got lucky as a child. I wasn't a warrior back then. Walking through is dangerous. We may have to go through but put away your cold iron. Myla take my spear, I will not use it in the forest. Dealan will pass his ransuer off to his squire, and give a pointed look to her weapon. Last time I was here I left in peace, he said with all the seriousness he could muster. I won't walk in for war. Hopefully, she is still here.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
We make sure everyone in the town is safe. No one touches the forest without me there. It's not safe if the forest rejects you, Dealan will say. And There is someone there who would make sure I am safe. Or would try to. When we do get there touch nothing with cold iron unless we have no choice.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Myla, the lives of everyone I know in my home are on the line, Dealan said. If you haven't gathered it by now, I would very much like to make sure I can minimize the damage to just myself before a few idiotic witch hunter decides to go marching into a fey forest.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Still angered, Dealan hears that Faylinn could be getting away with wimping out of a job. He promptly grabs the chains and slams them into the squire's hands before getting on his Horse. Come on Myla, we need a good start.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Maybe not but it makes me feel better, Dealan replies, not caring about making a scene. Remeber the person I told you about? If I don't make sure she is safe before that bumbling idiot decides to mess around with the Forrest then she could die. Dealan gives Myla the look he only gives her when explaining why jumping in front of wolves while wearing no armor is the right thing to do. Basically his most serious look
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan entered the stable looking furious. Myla get ready to leave. We are heading to my hometown. We have something we need to do before the damn witch hunter gets there. I'm not letting my family get killed because we have someone too thick in the books to know what they are getting into!
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Being Dealan he will check all the locations he see's her normally. Mostly at the place he usually has her meet him. The kitchens. After that the stables because that's the only other place I think he would have met her. He will be cursing about the damn mage hunter the entire time

Lyari & GM:
I was hoping it was about my request to take my squire South to meet the people she is supposed to be protecting. Meeting: Dealan stiffed. Sir, I grew in Riverport. The forest isn't a friend to those with bad intentions. Especially if you are tracking down a mage. There are creatures there that would protect them. He was trying not to give away too much, but knew he had people to protect. If the forest doesn't consider you a safe person I doubt anyone could survive. I would take the place of the witch hunter willingly. I know enough to not be killed immediately. Dealan looked at Markous clearly. You may be a powerful wizard, but that should only help you understand the dangers. Even if this magical presence you detected in the forest is human, clearly the rest is not. I know parts of the forest, enough to safely go after it. A witch hunter would only draw the wrong sort of attention. Dealan bows to Arthur. Please forgive me my lord, but the lives of my home, and everyone going on this mission are at stake. Any unnecessary risk will end with us all dead. As much as tracking down this presence, well there are rumors of dragons and giant snakes in the forest. I doubt they would look kindly on someone out to get the magical presence with anything they perceive to be bad intentions.

Dealan laughs. You will want to get married one day boy. So learning to cook is fundemental. As for me, well there is a girl I fancy but getting to ask her could take some time. Dealan pulls a pie from one of the ovens giving a careful look too Lyari. Apologies Lyari, I am not used too you yet
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan is almost always here :p Poor Ewan, you will never get a wife that way. Here come help me with these pies. If you do I'll make you one. Dealan says with a smile. The smile vanishes as Lyari walks in. Hello Ser Fenhorn. How may I assist you. I have some pies in the oven at the moment. Or would you like sonething special? I could whip something up for you rather quickly. There is no joy in Dealans voice when he says this. Yet there is respectful curtesy, and an almost professional tone. The baker wiped his flour covered hands on his apron and pulled out another pie sheet. I trust Ewan with this, but not any knight.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
GM: Dealan is starting to care for a lot of casters :p quit being so good. It's making me wish there was something I could gain outside of rp XD. Also i hereby declare Dealan to be king of pies :p Damn casters and either being important to Dealan or being a kid Dealan wants to see grow up and be a strong wizard
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Good, she can be safe then. Dealan nodded. Interesting. I always thought it would be passed from parent to child like say a boy taking up the family farm. That sort of thing. Look at me, I'm a 'knight' but baking is in my blood. He rolled out another pie crust. Say Ewan, he asked with a chuckle. How much do you Magi learn outside of magics. Anything more laid back? Singing? Baking? Anything us mere mortals can comprehend? Or do you lack in any cooking skills. Dealan laughed as good memories filled him up. Ewan and the other kids always seemed to do that. My ma used to say that a man who couldn't cook will never get a wife. "Any man can take a lady to get food, but only a real man can cook for the lady himself", or something like that. Just advice for you kid.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan smiled at Ewan. While he was never a fan of magi, the kid was just nice. It was almost an exception to his hard line stance against the magi. He had nothing against them personally really, his real issue was with their rules, though he kept why a secret. Markous can't tell me when to do anything, but thank you for telling me I should meet with the king at ten rising. I will be sure to do so if the pies are done on time He said with a smile. It was always his way to act like this while baking, and he would easily be done by then, everyone in the ward knew it. But he acted like this to let the children know he would put them first, even if it meant losing his knighthood. Maybe it's about heading down south. Dealan stretched for a second still bruised from his fight with Gawain. What did you expect Dealan, of course he was good. Damn two handed sword was a hassle, but hitting him as he got close was fun. His mind wandered for a while as he began to fill the pies. Say Ewan, do you know how this magic stuff works? Say my mom was a mage, she isn't but you know where I'm going right? Would I be a mage too? Or would it have to be my dad? Or is it a completely independent factor? In other words without asking you, would I be breaking the law to hide her from you all until I saw her again?
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
WE ARE STARTING!!!! UNLEASH YOUR MOST FEARSOME BATTLE CRY! SPOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dealan is in the kitchens of the local ward, making pastries for the children there. He is in a simple bakers outfit with a black apron, showing no signs of the bearings of a Knight. With his squire away, and away from the others he was simply relaxed. Another pastry went in the oven the kitchen smelling of breakfast. Despite his cooking Dealan's mind was obviously elsewhere. His belt pouch was like a weight to him, though by the look of it there were few coins there. Maybe I should tell somebody, he thought to himself. But who can I trust.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan laughs. I was the man fight before. He is a rock. Not the kind of person to get to me without getting a good thwack on the head. Even if I brought my armor. Do you think I should bring it invade he decides to? I should I have Galahad remove his to make it fair. After all in in traveling leathers. This can't stop a weapon. You are the one who looks after me Myla so I expect your wisdom
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
You nobles have strange practices. Next thing you will be telling me Feylins behavior was completely normal. Dealan said with a heavy sigh. You should teach that girl a lesson one of these days. She can be quite a lazy brat. All in Dealans opinion of course :P Yeah. Sweet moment:
No one you would know, and considering who she is I may net even find her when we get there. But she isn't the only reason I want to take you south. You can learn a lot down there. Dealan says smiling at Myla. You can be a very good squire when you aren't fussing over me or exploding you know. Alright Myla. I will go grab a blunt ransuer for this fight. You are welcome to come and fuss over me. I hope Ser Gawain doesn't think this is some nobles game where armor is used. That would be unfortunate for him and Galahad. You can go do what you want of course girl. And Myla. Don't ever stop speaking your mind. Just as a general rule girl. Dealan stopped talking and let out a small chuckle. Heh, girl. Your what? Thirteen? You aren't much younger than me. With dex and the hidden and never shown to anyone amulet of natural armor im at 14 for AC :P
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Im laughing because Dealan said nothing about armor. Touching Knight ad Squire moment: Dealan looks at Myla. Dammit Girl, why do you make things so hard to deal with. Before I fight Gawain, no armor and just a blunt ransuer after all its a test of skill not of money, I want you to hold onto something for me. You can't tell anyone though. Dealan reached into his belt pouch pulling out a silvering with several small amethysts set in a swirling pattern. There is someone back near my home I want to give this to, but I don't trust myself yet girl. And I don't want to do anything stupid. Let me tell ya something, nothing is worth giving up happiness. Not being a Knight, not anything. I made a mistake that I regret every day, and its to much to live with sometimes girl. Don't make those kinds of mistakes. I will tell you about them if we can get to the south. Dealan's face was somber as he spoke, his eyes betraying a depression that consumed him. Then it was gone, brushed aside as if the man inside was fighting not to be consumed. Now, don't let Feylin talk to you like that again. Give her a good thrashing. Keep her in line. No one should be able to skate on things because 'I ain't good at manual labor sers'. If that girl went to my home town and tried that she would be set shoveling manure. I don't think she has a good role model either but thats between us eh?
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Who bets on dogs chasing foxes? That is just cruel to the fox Dealan says, confused at noble tendencies. I did not mean to do that girl. I just think highly of you. You are a great squire. I did not mean to belittle you to a thing of entertainmemt. I am not used to your way of thinking girl. I apologize. I should try to see things more through your eyes. Now, would you like to watch Gawain and I fight? I can make you a pie as well. I feel like I need to make it up to you. Dealan smiles. I wouldn't know anything about tournaments girl. They are a waste of money that could help the people of the kingdom. A real rivalry can be settled in other less violent ways. Like rock, paper, shears. Or who can climb trees the longest. Or swim the longest. Forgive me for saying but with that knowledge tournaments seem like a frivolous, worthless thing compared to just enjoying a rivalry and a friendship.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan smiled as Myla exploded. Of course Gawain. I will grab a dulled Ransuer after I get my squire. The baker ducked out of the door following his apprentice. Myla. Get back here. No one was using you for amusement. I was merely saying you are the best here. If you want you can take your anger out on me. But stay. Dealan glared his apprentice. Calm down girl. Quit assuming you know what I mean when I say things. I am not some noble blooded idoit who thinks people beneath him are there for entertainment. You are an equal to me girl. A strong fighter and strong willed person. That is all I was saying. Now I challenged Gawain to a battle with blunt weapons. Any advice you can give me?
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan returns the look Gawain gave him. Jousting is a game played by nobles who are too afraid of a thwack or two. If you want a real competition, let's go get them wooden weapons and do what my kind of people do. A good old battle royal. The only real type of sport a warrior should play, not let's be pansies and just unhorse people in full plate.
Male HP 45/45| AC 25 | Fort +9| Ref +3| Will +3| Init: +6 Human Fighter (Polearm Master) 4
Dealan roars with laughter, something he hasnt done in years. Beat Myla?! Impossible. She can hold her own against me on her worst of days quite well. Galahad and Feylinn have nothing on her. And I said a year of baking. Not a week. It is quite clear that despite their many disagreements Dealan thinks highly of his squire. And this has nothing to do with her blood.
