Note to self: I had my EAC and KAC reversed for some reason. I've fixed it, but I believe both attacks still hit. Darshe grits his teeth when the akata grabs him. It was more uncomfortable than painful, though his HUD's angry flashing indicates that his armor has sustained heavy damage. Seeing the other akata trying to slip by him, the soldier wrenches his arm out of the creature's mouth in an attempt to swing at it, but is far too slow. Darshe grimaces. He did not have to be able to see in color to know what the pool of liquid was. Taking that as a bad sign, he double checks his weapon, making sure that it is locked and loaded. I figured we'd have to wander around for a lot longer before finding out that something went horribly wrong," he says dryly, though there is some underlying nervousness that he cannot quite hide. As the ship prepares to dock, Darshe turns his helmet over in his hands, making sure that its newly-installed infrared sensors are functioning properly. Even though the Acreon apparently still had power, it couldn't hurt to be prepared. "Lovely. Well, we're probably going to want to get that closed," the soldier says as he lowers the helmet over his head. With a hiss it forms an airtight seal with the rest of his armor and pressurized. He taps the side of his head a few times, causing his HUD to blink on. "Hopefully we can get some mapping data of the interior - we don't want to miss anything."

Darshe waits until the ambassador has left before truly stopping to appreciate the ship, letting out a low whistle. A real starship, all to themselves. Darshe peels off his patch's backing and it onto his armor's left breastplate. He felt a little uncomfortable about having a tracking device on him, but it was all part of the job. He nods to the creepy Eoxian ambassador. "I think I'm good," he remarks, indeed quite eager to set out. In a sense, this was their first real mission for the Starfinder Society.

Having made up his mind, Darshe ultimately purchases a radiation buffer and some infrared sensors for his armor. They struck him as things that could come in handy while exploring a derelict spacecraft. Darshe nods off slightly during the presentation, the sale pitch striking him as very familiar. It takes him a moment to realize that he'd seen it before - back on his mining colony, during his orientation. He was fairly certain that he almost fell asleep back then, too. The soldier is at a bit of a loss for words after it ends, squirming awkwardly in his seat. "No, thank you, Ms. Joss," he says, flashing the lashunta woman a forced smile before stepping onto the elevator. He waits until the doors close before remarking to his companions, "Well, that was... interesting. I thought they'd try to bribe us with a bit more than just employment opportunities."

Darshe is not terribly surprised to receive the message from the Hardscrabble Collective, and is more than happy to let Krevlor reply on their behalf. The anticipation of meeting them in person only makes their current wait even more unbearable... even if it did only last a few more seconds. He tries very hard to maintain eye contact with the lashunta woman that greets them, her dress inviting a few awkward memories of his past visit to Castrovel. He shakes his head at her question. Up until the topic of the package was brought up, the reason for Eox's involvement had not been entirely clear to him. Darshe is content to let Krevlor get their new team members up to speed, both because the kasatha had a penchant for succinctness, and because he was still somewhat bummed out by Kreel's death. Bringing his killers to justice and becoming a Starfinder were a big deal to him, but the unfinished business with Astral Excavations still left a bad taste in his mouth. And now they had to meet with an undead politician. The soldier grimaces when they step onto the threshold of the ominous structure, and outright bristles when the guards step forward meet them. Words like "intimidating" and "unnerving" were not quite adequate enough to sum up his feelings. Still, he would be damned if anyone called him a coward. He retrieves his gaudy invitation from a fold on his armor and presents it to the bone guards. "Uh, it's our understanding that Gevalarsk Nor has requested our presence," he says calmly, his accent clashing with the formal tone he is attempting to emulate.

Darshe leans forward on his chair as the newcomers introduce themselves, flashing a smile at each of them. The rugged human has tousled brown hair, and stubble around his mouth and jaw that likely grew over the time it took him to reach the Lorespire. He wears a suit of heavy metal armor that, asides from a few amateur patch jobs, looks shiny and new. And of course he has his weapons - his trusty assault armor at his belt, and his brand new autotarget rifle strapped to his back. "Darshe. Just Darshe," he says, nodding to their new friends. Eyeing the android, he smirks. "I grew up around asteroid miners. Never did learn Dwarven, but if I can tell you one thing, it's that they can curse up a storm. So I doubt I'll find anything you say offensive."

Despite having an abundance of free time, Darshe does not spend any of it relaxing. One day is spent patching up his armor, while the next is spent filling magazines with the dozens of bullets they recovered from the Downside Kings. When he isn't hitting the firing range or exercising in the gym, he is (rather precariously) tinkering with explosives in his room. Fortunately, there are no explosive episodes; Darshe is alive and in one piece when he gets the call days later. The soldier throws on his freshly-polished armor, quickly gathers up his belongings, and heads out early.
