Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
Here we go again!
The trail leads into the forest deeper and deeper. An hour passes, you've come quite the distance from the fields, and the tracks have only gotten clearer. Its annother hour before it comes into view... A cave. The beartracks lead to a cave. No knowing how deep they are, or even if the bear is inside... New Arivials:
Like all aspiring Vampire Hunter you have to start somewhere. And what better than finding the minor undead in this Forest. You move along the same trail the last group did... Noticing the bandits quite a distance in advance, easily avoiding them. Seems they aren't expecting others along the road. From there you find your mark. Bear tracks, but that's not the most important thing... There is a faint hint of corruption in the air... The stink of undeath. You begin to follow the tracks for an hour before noticing..... There are human tracks as well... Following them. Could be undead as well... Cohorts? Who knows... They are only about 20 minutes ahead of you... And your catching up fast Go ahead and introduce yourselves once they astablish where they are and what they're doing...
okay, I'd like the old party to respond first, that way the new members can introduce themselves in response. Sorry fir the wait.... Friends come first

We all good? Okay, Sooo- im gonna introduce our new recruits real soon, As you encounter your first monster. Now how I'm gonna handle combat will be pretty simple- gonna take some "cheats" and do it all by ear, now- please state if you try to flank enemies, otherwise flanking shouldn't have to come up... This will be one of the few encounters where flanking will come into play early on. Later combats, flanking will be mostly mid to late battle. The idea will be that out Kinslayer here has been tracking an undead for the last few hours- and yes spoilers: the bear is undead. But it's a minor detail. Your two groups will encounter it at the same time, combat enduses. With this evidence and the curfew on the city coming near, you'll head in together, and I'll tie y'all together with plot once in thw city...

Wonderful, I actually have been delays mg the game while i fojnd replacements for the characters who dropped out. So far the only things that have been major is some interaction between the party and the local Clergy, A merchant. And the workers at the oil fields. Now because your two are not part of the initial party- you'd have likely been in town for at least a day longer than the group. At this point in the game I actually have some background stuff happening that would make you arriving later seem odd. Alot will be explained soon... The party is currently tracking a bear who attacked and destroyed an oil tower... A tough task for an animal for sure! I actually believe your characters whlouof have shown up a day or so before for your own reasons, our Kinslayer most likely because of his religion and outlook on undead, and Cole for his own reasons. Perhaps you two are together, I'm definitely open for suggestions
Okay, I do think I have who I want ^-^ Drakken, I do love your backstory, even that first draft really interested me, as it fit into my story very well, so many things I could tie your Character into! From your father being known, to the moral delema of undead not inheritly being evil... Oooh, yes. All perfect for my game ;P As for the second Character, I do believe Cole fits well, His powers will ad some much needed utility to the party- the ability to bring enemies will come in great help for the future. Your backstory is good enough for me to work with You two can report to my discussion thread
Introduce yourself to the other player's, and i will set up a short background on to how your gonna come to the group, and why your probably gonna decide to stay ;P
This is actually the era of Percussion caps- riffling has just been invented and the revolver probably on the inventors table in some distant land. As for the gun training- I see no reason the black power Inquisition shouldn't get it at like 4th level. I'll have an official list of who I picked in approximately 4-6 hours, good luck all ^-^ It's an unfortunate problem that even nowadays guns jam or misfire, I have a special rule for this- but unless it comes into play you shouldn't have to worry.
Hmm... I actually am quite interested in that background, It leaves alot open for some of the things I have planned, Esspecialy since I fully intend to put some of the big baddies within arms reach pretty soon ;P It might be a good idea to expand on that background through the game... I actually feel like all of you deserve to join, But I am only planning on picking 2 T-T I think I might ask my current players for feedback on who they think should join ;P
Okay, With the Holiday Over I'm gonna set Friday as the closing day for re-recruitment, I see plenty of good interest and definitely have enough to fill the party back up, especially with a few of them officially calling out :P I'd like to see spoilers with crunch of you could makes it much easier to look at stats, as well as find completed Submissions.

Aah, a reference to Odin, and Jesus all at once... Aahhh. BTW, I do Imagine anyone seeing a depiction of Jesus with a Crown of thorns Hung from a cross would believe it to be a wrathfull or vengence seeking God. At least in Pathfinder. As for Odin, OOOOOH man... Why haven't they added them to the Panthieon yet? The Egyptian gods are in it.
Okay, Here to awnser some questions before the Holidays and I'm tugged away from the computer:
On Vampires: Yes, alot, Quite enough to party wipe the current group. Spawn, Full fledged Vampires, Lord's, even one the party will encounter soon. Infact if one of you was a Dedicated Vampire Hunter it would make this sooooo much better.
Amelia Blackheart wrote: Would you consider Spiritualist (Scourge) who has a small spirit named Lilly who curses a lot and grows to a gory medium sized spirit in combat? I wouldn't mind this, You build what you want, that's the point if the game :P just try to stay themeaticI must mention that your Characters will be assumed to have been in the town for at least a day longer than the current party, and i will give you a reason to have gone after them once you are selected

Thalrik Korun wrote: So yeah, turns out I was waay off on that Chemo. Still on it and still struggling with getting up the will to do much other than lie in bed. Im gonna try to get some posting done. Well good to hear back from you, I actually opened a re-recruitment :P
Yeah, I am gonna state traps won't be real relevant in the game (not saying there WON'T be traps, just not that many .. early... Or late game...maybe mid) Your enemies will definitely majority undead and casters controlling said living corpses. So martial characters would help. However skills are nessisary too, a Rogue/Alchemist would be preffered, Although a Bard or Palidan would be appreciated. Also I'm not sure if I mentioned it: I have a Home rule where Palidan don't have to be Lawful good- they just have to be good. This is within reason of course. I feel like when you play a Palidan the range of lawful/good gods are kinda limitied. If a class trait requires you to be Lawful then yeah, You have to be Lawful, But of it can be reflavored for Chaotic then just change the context.
Hello everyone, I'm running a game which some of my players have unfortunately disappeared from Because of this I'm looking to replace them.
None of the players have encountered enemies yet(although you will soon) and each of them has received a Holy symbol. I'm looking for 2-3 replacement characters. All the rules and questions I awnsered are in the link above. You will use the same rules as the last recruitment only you get a free holy symbol (a silver or wooden one)

Just a reminder about the Geography of the area, You sailed in from the West, the City is to your north, you are in the Reach Forest south of the city. The coast curves away from the City in the north, heading west, as the City is built in a bay.
In the middle of the Bay is the White Tower of King Vincent the 1st, both his burial ground and the lighthouse of the city.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
As you survey rhe area, None of the workers seem up to bother you... So long as you don't do anything threatening. Some even offer up information that the Dwarf from earlier hadn't, mentioning that the tower wasn't knocked over by plants, but rather a group of bears. The worker describes how the bears looked very hungry, almost starved, and when the men tried to shoo them off they didn't respond.
They burned the bodies yesterday, away from the fields of course. but since then, oozes have been emerging from the pools of oil, which have added to the difficulty of cleaning it up. The workers don't offer much other information, despite an obvious distaste for the woods. Several of the ratfolk don't talk to you, ignoreing any attempts to converse and avoiding you quite clearly. As the sun reaches into the sky, the woods remain chill... And you all have a feeling of being watched.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
As the group moves away from the workers, it doesnt seem any if them are gonna bother the lot of you. An older looking ratfolk chuckles and moves over to Pat Srik on the back.
The necklace is small, made of copper, silver, and turquoise. Engravings on the blue stone are written in Ratfolk, and the stones feel warm to Srik. Anyone else who decides to touch the necklace don't feel the warmth Know(Religion) DC:10-about The Black Druids: From the books written of the Reach, Black Forest Druids have been written to be akin ti any druids, however your recent experience has shown otherwise. What is know best is that they worship a Goddess known only as the black mother to anyone outside the circle.

The dwarf who led you here sighs, "Well, Lest whatever it was left..."
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The figure I growls, and the air grows cold, several if the observers shiver, backing away from the figure. "you insolent cur! I have restrained myself this far, But your making quite the attempt to draw my wrath." the figure swings its sythe and holds a hand out, the three fingered tallon pointing to Srik, the flesh gaunt and taut ovet the bones. It's clear now this creature wasn't human... "you will regret your words... So help the mother..." with a florish the figure shoots into the sky, vanishing over the treeline as it fled.
ah, this will be fun... Heheheh

According to size based rules you get a -4 for trying to intimidate something larger than you, plus the DC to intimidate this guy is 18

the Dwarf shrugs, "no objection here" he huffs. the dwarf leads you through the oil fields, and you pass by a few towers. it's clear the dwarf was honest, alot of the equipment shows the shine and quality of Dwarven engineering.
The figure chuckles, his voice whispy and light. "I't is not your lady who guides the will of the Reach, you know this quite well. Now quit complaining before i decide to show you the power of the Reach's real godess." the figure threatens, to which the air grows cold, and something sinister fills the air.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The dwarf snorts and shrugs. "Not doughtimg your here to help, My issue is giving ya info without proper papers, But call me a fat gnome if I'm not gonna tell you it was Roots and such that knocked over one of our towers, Growing right before your eyes. Swear t' my mother that them black druids do more damage to the environment than heal it. Sure, they take out us civilized folks, but we been doing this for years, Us dwarves know ext how to extract black gold without messing with yer trees and animals, But you knock over a tower and all that sludge gonna get all over... Heh the Dwarf scoffs but a man approaches, whispering something to the dwarf, at which he looks perplexed. "speak of the devil, some of those druids are harassing my workers now... I'll be going to deal with them, sorry I couldn't tell you more" the dwarf grumbles, Drawing his weapon and heading off.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
Ah, Paizo does that sometimes the dwarf Huffs "Aye, Sludge beasts. Ooze and the like... And if ya wanna know more about the damage, I need to see some paperwork... Although knowing how often the Lords like to send folks without it, I'll happily let you know what you want... So long as it isn't about the finances, I've gotten in a heap o' hell last time I let our finances leak." he sighs, waving at you. "okay then, what is it?"
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The sky is grey, however given the time of year it's getting colder, if the weather turns sour it will most likely hail. As you approach a dwarf spots you and comes over, he is much cleaner, and is wearing a suit of light armor. "Watch it! Your commin' quite close t' the fields ." he draws a pick from his belt. "got a chance of sludge beasts commin'out." he Huffs, "now, if ya' have the paperwork, I'll gladly see ya, otherwise I suggest gettin' somewhere else "
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The worker(it was hard to tell what race he was covered in all that grime) nods and points to a set of buildings. "Yeup, Captians over there, in the main buildin'" he says, "I wouldn't go too far into the oil fields though, we're cleaning up a spill caused when one of our towers fell" he Huffs, slogging away with the other workers
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The rest of the journey goes smoothly, ans you arrive at the oil fields only an hour later. Some men approach, covered in black grime and dirt. One shouts at you as you approach, not spotting the ratfolk.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
the man huffs, and signals for the others to get out of the way. "not locals, eh? figured, don't talk like locals... them black woods druids say they are men of the wood, but act like filthy witches. they say they love all life, but what they think life is must be something quite monstrous... I'd bet my life that they are the ones responsible for most of the towns troubles... undead alone are easy to deal with... lycans and undead? not so much.... now get gone, we'll be kind enough to not ambush you on the return..." he huffs.
Primortal Evil Dungeon Master
The man sees the gold coin, and licking his lips he snorts, "now, I'll accept your apology... But my friends here might want something more to help... Soothe their nerves" he says flicking his crossbow sights at the rat. "you filthy trash-eaters need to learn how to hold your tongues, or you'll all end up rugs" he says, taking the gold, "we'll let ya pass... Now, one question and off ye get" the bandit takes a step back, making sure of any if you took a move he'd have time to retaliate. Sense motive DC:10: The man has an obvious distaste for ratfolk, and any further threats from Srik will probably not end well

Vanessa:
they appear to know how to hold the weapons they carry, however you notice that the two carrying muskets(the two behind the log) are not carrying powder horns or additional ammunition. William:
your eyes spot the same as Vanessa, the musket users either have one shot, or are bluffing. However from tbis distance its hard to tell if any of them have wounds. If they do they aren't showing it, or likely kept their wounded back at their camp One of the men behind you moves over. His crossbow kept aimed at Vanessa's head. He apreaches about 5 feet away, and comes to her side. "You look quite lovely... " he says, "If I was an unreasonable man, Ida shot your friends, and taken you to camp... But I'm the reasonable sort" he Huffs. His men lower their weapons and he takes his aim off of her. "four silver we let you pass, ten silver I give you what you want... We don't need a voodoo doctor working our wounded... Last man of the wood that offered help ended up turning luciel into a monster..." he raised his crossbow up to aim at William. "you don't look like one of them black woods druids... But if you come one step closer I'll make sure you don't take another" The man sighs, "now, pay up, or we turn you into pin cushions."

Bart Huffs, "no, just that they where destroyed, don't know by what... You folks have a good day, may the lady smile apon you." he says As you head through the docks to the southern portion of the town you notice the farther south you get the more people you see. The number doubles when you cross the river separating the north and south cities. People greet you kindly, and some folks even offer you directions.
However you're determined to get to the oil fields and make it to the southern edge of the town within the hour. A few gaurds are posted here, and they wish you luck innthe road. Once outside the city the trees of the Southern Reach seem almost inviting to you...

A little while farther down you can see a wagon on it's side, but none of you are able to spot the men before they jump out. Roughly five men, armed with crossbows or muskets jump from the shadows, two behind the log, two around some trees behind you, and the last one can be seen by the wagon, crossbow in hand.

The Bartender comes to the table, a bit more grim than before. Morning, folks. Hope last night wasn't an issue for ya, luckily none where lost... Its always a tragety to loose someone. Thanks to our tules though everyone keeps safe. I heard ya where gonna head to the oil fields? Best be hurrying, two days ago they requested a group to help defend the towers, apparently one had been destroyed. he says, trying to be helpful. "If you folks need any help, or information, I'll do my best to help. " he says, smiling.
