![]() Before the door could be slammed in his face, Cyrus forced his arm through the opening; not trying to grab the man, just making it so that if he tried to slam the door, it was just get slammed on his arm. Painful, sure, but...effective. "Dammit, you think we do?!" he hisses in a low voice. "Ringeirr's with us; we need to talk when the fightin's done! Please don't run!" he says, the urgency and concern for the others clear in his voice. His plea made, he withdraws his arm, commanding Duneyrr to follow as he rushes out into the open to see if his friends need help, drawing his falchion while on the move. ![]()

If I were with the whites, I wouldn't be knocking, I'd just call up some ogre to break the door down, wouldn't I?!" he he says, trying to moderate his volume enough that someone inside could hear him speaking but keep it low enough that hearing him outside a short range would be next to impossible. ![]()

![]() Cyrus frowns to himself, unhappy with his inability to understand the language they are speaking, even if their body language and tone does betray some of their meaning. Seeing no point in delaying the inevitable, Cyrus looks to the others and attempts to signal them with hand gestures that he is about to make his approach by pointing to himself, then to the building. He waits a few seconds longer, then strolls out, behaving as if nothing is at issue, though he does walk with purpose and intention, not looking around or letting himself get distracted. His hand remains near his falchion, just in case, though he doesn't make any move to draw it unless directly threatened. ![]()

About to express gladness that the trail of death they are leaving in their wake was momentarily abated, he winces a bit when Droguk's sword ends any possibility of healing the winter wolves had. "I...am not sure that was entirely necessary. Maybe it was, but...now we'll never know." he muses, looking rather deflated for a moment before gathering himself and moving on with the others. Seeing the trolls, he is instantly on alert. After listening to the others, he makes sure to keep his hand near the hilt of his falchion, though he doesn't actually hold the weapon drawn. "No reason to assume they're after us...not just yet, anyway. Better to just keep going about our business and see what happens I would think." ![]()

![]() It seems like a lot of the terrorist attacks now either completely homegrown or are sleeper cells that have been operating for years with complete autonomy, just waiting for the right place and time to inflict as much damage and death as possible. The times, they are definitely a-changin'. Seems like, more and more, this whole thing is turning into World War III whether we like it or not. I doubt most of the international community considers it a war, but the militant Islamic factions certainly do. I'm glad that you weren't in Brussels when the bombs went off, Rick. I mourn for your country's loss and pray that justice will be served for those responsible, be it in this life or the next. ![]()

He rushes the nearest standing drunkard, turning his falchion's blade to the side to attack with the flat of it. These were just drunks, after all. No reason to kill anyone. He quickly joins the others in making their escape, praying scientific that they hadn't already been discovered by the powers of scrying the witches possessed. All his thoughts were temporarily ceased when the little ones come out to assist the adults and he happily lends a hand. Flex Time:
After they have left the children behind, Cyrus takes special care to ask the native northerners what they know of the mirror-faced sentinels, hoping that they might be able to shed a bit more light on the new enemy they were facing. He makes sure to tell them them to turn the heads of them away, so the mirrors aren't facing any of them. If mirrors were seeing-stones for the witches, it seemed fair to assume that they could still be scried through even if the "person" wearing them was dead. ![]()

He wondered if they might get a chance to take the mirror face off of them and see what lay beneath it...and then, moments later, wondered if he even wanted to. ![]() Cyrus draws his cloak more closely around his head, hoping that the mirror man hasn't gotten a very good look at his face yet. Still, he knows that there best chance here is haste, so he moves quickly to close the distance between himself and the mirror man; even as he does, he gives Duneyrr the command to attack. Double-move to get closer. Duneyrr, at his master's command, easily closes the distance with all possible haste to the party's enemy, attempting to gore the strange being with his antlers. Gore!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Or not. Seems like being ripped to shreds by wargs or whatever they were takes a very, very long time to recover from... ![]()

![]() Apologies for not posting before now, everyone. Two Mondays ago I woke up with a fever that got worse as the morning wore on. I've been back on the hospital since then. Finally found out a few days ago that I had caught a case of surgical meningitis. I'm finally today recovered enough from the bug to feel like coming back online. I'm actually feeling a great deal better in the last couple of days. I'm going to try and get back into posting, starting one game at a time, in the next day or two. ![]() And the day has arrived! My craneotomy and surgical resection is scheduled for 6 AM tomorrow morning, central time. You can count on it being around a week before I'm able to even let you guys know things are ok (which I and the neurosurgeon are certain they will be), but probably several days after that before I'll be able to really get back into any games.
