I looked over the free preview and I am interested but... just not sure for 10 bucks that is more than a impulse buy price. Not saying it is not worth it, just saying.

If you only have ten dollars to spend on an adventure book all year, I heartily recommend it be this one. This is one of the best-produced, well-thought, enjoyable adventures our gaming group has seen.

I would suggest allowing a chaotic neutral paladin variant be like a chaotic neutral priest, in that they should be allowed to choose whether they channel negative or positive energy.

There's a bunch of anti-paladin abilities that might be able to be repurposed.

I kind of like the idea of a champion of chaos. Makes me think of the Elric of Melnibone novels - I'm sure that there were Melniboneans who were Chaos Champions.

Our house rule has always been incorporeal means incorporeal - as in not really interacting with the real world physically. So incorporeal creatures like ghosts, ethereal beings, etc. can move through walls, sand, dirt, giant stone blocks, gravy, or whatever, unless there is some specific ward or abjuration in place.

I'm sure there's some rationale behind the idea that incorporeal beings might have some limitation, but for me, the scary/frustrating aspect of them being able to pass through solid objects at will takes precedence.

As I say, though, that's a house rule.

If I want a creature that's semi-incorporeal, and can't just wander willy-nilly anywhere they want, I treat them as being similar to a vampire's mist form.

I'd just like to add my thanks to those of everyone else.

I too just purchased D&D 4th Edition, and to say that I was horrified would be a gross understatement. I don't mind change, because change is how we grow, but 4e is terrible. It doesn't even look like it was created by people who ever played D&D. I won't belabor the negative, but this will be the first time in my life that I've ever returned _any_ book to a store.

But I just found your site. And I downloaded your alpha.

And I'm in love. You've taken a system that I already liked, and have polished it to a fine gloss. And this is just the alpha release? : )

By the time I got as far as the Barbarian entry, which you have removed all traces of "suck" from, I knew I was hooked. I've nearly finished reading the book - nay, devouring it - and I'm completely thrilled.

You've taken a system I already love, and have improved and streamlined it. Some of the changes are similar to house rules I'd already use, but many more are things that I probably never would have thought of, but which, once seen, make me think "Of course! How perfect!"

I've been playing D&D for almost 28 years. I'd almost thought the game was doomed when I saw 4e. I shall now be happy to play Pathfinder instead. And, of course, I'll be pleased to spend all the money that I'd have spent on WotC's product on your products instead.

Best wishes,
Coyote
