![]() Introducing Vasily Petrescu, Varisian bard and adventure seeker. He was kicked out of his clan for de-flowering the chieftain's daughter who was promised to antoher, and now needs to make enough money to care for his 2 youngers sisters. He can either sign on for the trip to Sargava as a sailor, or as a stowaway. He has had the typical Varisian wanderer's background, stealing, robbing, and conning to make his daily bread. LMK if I can answer any questions. Vasily Crunch: Vasily Petrescu

![]() Let me introduce Vasily Petrescu. In the interest of full disclosure, I will tell you I submitted him to another SS game that is recruiting currently as well. I will withdraw him there, if chosen here and vice versa. Vasily is a true Varisian. Wandering the wilds with his gypsy-like family. His father died, and he became financially responsible for his sick mother and 2 sisters, but he doesn't take well to responsibility, and a romantic tryst with the clan's chief's daughter (who was betrothed to another chieftain) became known, he was ejected from the clan. Blessed with some skill with the mandolin, nimble fingers, and quick wits, he has tried to survive on the streets without much luck. He has put in as a sailor (which he has never tried) on a boat bound for far Sargava in order to raise enough money to care for his family. Vasily Crunch:

![]() After a rather long break, that unforunately led to Elsie the Cat leaving, and not paying anymore attetion to him, Vasily returned to the table with his nandolin. Hefting a refill of his stout, he surveyed the room, eyes settling on the lycanthrope, Zachary. "Come, man! A favorite tune? "Bad Moon Rising", perhaps?" the Varisian entertainer counts the few coins in his hat, shuffles them into his pocket, and strums a few chords, trilling notes here and there without a real tune. ![]()

Watching the girl dance, Vasily keeps the music playing, nodding as another coin makes its way into his hat. Playing along with the flirtatious girl he taps the hilt of the longsword at his belt. "If you like my fingering, girl, wait until you see my pricking!" He laughs long and carefree clearly meaning no ill intent, and ends the song with a flourish. Stopping to take a quaff of his ale, he notices there are other newcomers to the room. "The entertainment ain't free, lords and ladies. Loosen them purse strings, a bit, an make your poor player feel a bit more love, I beg you." He re-tunes the mandolin, and starts in again playing a Varisian folk-song about how home is where you find it along the road. ![]()
![]() "The Lady of Luck bless me, upstaged again! And by a primate this time." Vasily laughs good naturedly, but see the tips have not come in despite one of his better performances. He looks at the assembled personages and shakes his empty hat at them. "I may be from the country, but I know good music when I hear it. Give the man a coin or two, I beg, or the gorilla calls the next tune! Be not afraid to ask your lady fair to a dance. This song has been known to brig lovers together, even if it is about lovers apart..." He nods at Travis and "Elsie" urging them to begin. He smiles and begins playing a well-known love song, joining his perfectly-timbred voice to the melody and backbeat of his boot. The song is sweet but sad and his rendition is haunting in it's sorrow. Perform Sing: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 ![]()
![]() Opening the door so as not to make too much of a scene, Vasily the Varisian bard enters, mandolin strapped to his back. Approaching the barkeep, he orders a pint of stout and finds a place near the center of the room. Drinking liberally from the pint, he lays his cap upside down on the table, and begins tuning his mandolin, trying to draw as much attention to himself as possible. The man is not tall, but not short either. He has the olive complexion and dark hair and eyes of teh native Varisians. He wears leather traveling clothes with a scarf of vivid orange and yellow twisted around his neck, like a bandana in a Western. Finding his instrument tuned, he begins strumming the strings, bringing forth a lively melody, fit for dancing in the Varisian manner. He keeps time, clacking his boot heel on the floor for a bit of added percussion. His eyes scan the room, looking at the various patrons as he plays, his fingers seemingly moving of their own volition across the strings as if it were magic, instead of skill. "Come now Lords and Ladies who will have a turn on the dancefloor. It is a shame to let such good music go to waste. If you like the playing, drop a coin in the hat, and I will continue. If you don't like it, drop a coin in the hat, and I will stop.". He smiles as the music builds to a crescendo, then when the tempo and the volume build to a fever pitch, the song ends suddenly.
