I think a double move would get you out the back door, round and ready for a Burning Hands next round.

Put Colvare in H3 then...

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Sorry, it seems I did Colvares turn a little early last time....
Initiative order:
Shagraat – 18
Benedetto – 17
Colvare - 15
Urthona – 11
Mirra – 10
Rayne – 7
Wands – 5

Cursing the fact that everyone is now around the door, Colvare looks about for another exit, and seeing no windows goes for the Back door.

The plan is to get into a position where Burning Hands will be actually useful....

Male Human Sorcerer 3

Put Colvare at D10

Colvare finnishes the spell with the violent fist motion the others are coming to recognise. For the first time though, it is not just one small ball of fire that appears from the fist, but two, both flying unerringly at the man stood visible through the door.

As the plotters sit in the late-night, virtually deserted tavern, throwing ideas around, there is a sudden crash and the door flies open. Outside is a group of Wands, who glower menacingly.

"That's them," says the voice of the ostler from earlier in the night. The Wands draw weapons and move in.

Colvare jumps up and back, his stool flying away with a crash, as he begins to mutter the phrases needed to cast a spell.

I can also disguise myself to go with Rayne but I think a good mock fight between the rest might be enough to get them to move away for a bit." Mirra stops and stares off in the distance. "We still have the problem of their uniforms. Unless we actually subdue two of them I don't thing we can manage the clothes and unless we plan to do it now I don't think we can make two guards disappear. Two people going missing will make our job impossible."

Hnece make it look like one is wandering off, for Rayne to impersonate, and "will be back soon".....Would be tricky, but I think I could pull it off....

Male Human Sorcerer 3

"So where do we go for the scrolls then?"

Male Human Sorcerer 3
Aubrey the Demented/Malformed wrote:
OK - so do we have a plan? Buy some scrolls and (maybe) potions, climb up the tower stealthily and try and get in at the top, and check out the tethered earthmote? When are you planning on doing this? And any other preparations you want to make before we launch into the attempt?

Yes.

Colvare looks like he is going to say something else, then realises he is vastly outnumbered in wanting to go for the softly softly, rather than be caught 300ft up...So he stays quiet, and saves his "told you so"s for later.

An ostler, seemingly in his cups and smelling fainly of manure, overhears and leans over, joining in the conversation. "Yeah, I go there a bit - weird looking place inside. Absolutely huge rooms with giant statues in. I haul in the food for the Wands. They've been checking everyone coming in and out, lately, though I'm alright, been going there for years. Anyway, supposedly it's so old it links through to all the old giant stuff, even the catacombs underground, the sewers and the like."

As we move away from the helpful people, Colvare speaks up. "Looks like we are going to have to go in after her, and looks like that won't be easy. Rayne, Reccon you could get past their searchers and open some side door, assuming we can find one? I doubt we will get help from those knights for this, so a subtle approach may be best."

We haven't had a chance to see who the Aundairean merchant is, but they might have more information at Lyrandar Tower."

At Alidaber's prompting we went to the professors house to see if we could locate some notes of interest, and instead found we were too late, and the man I mentioned earlier had taken thm. Since then we have been framed and interrogated by the police, and made our way here...Still attempting to track Veren.
