Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt has been even more silent and withdrawn since the voyage. The dark circles around his eyes have deepened, and he seems to be constantly lost in his own thoughts. Still trying to find out what the spell Colt learned does. I can't find it anywhere.

1d8 ⇒ 5 History 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Arabic 1d4 ⇒ 3 Sanity Loss Well I was going to ask if the Arabic he'd learned helped him with the books written in Arabic... but never mind with that roll. BTW... where is that spell? I can't find it for some reason. @Jake>> "Well hopefully your money will buy us some information. I can barely understand anything they're saying".
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Sorry guys. Lifes been a bit crazy. Colt would have gathered up the more interesting scrolls, and books from the secret lab, as well as the remainder of the powdered silver, and anything else that looked interesting before officials arrived and took it for evidence. He'll spend the journey mostly cooped up in his cabin reading and researching these things. Yeah. I know I'm playing with fire.

Panic now setting at the horror of Gavigans power, Colt says a quick prayer aims and shoots again. Don't have my books handy. Not sure if there is a bonus for aiming. 1d100 ⇒ 46 Pistol (20%) 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Luck bullet "Die! you unholy beast... Die"!
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt steps to the door and listens to see if he can tell how close the chanting is. 1d100 ⇒ 68 "So now we decide. Do we attempt to take them on? Perhaps we can bar the door so they can't get out...but there may be another way around. Hard to say how many there are, and if we could take them on. Either way if we're not going to confront them we should take some of this stuff, and escape. We can then study it at our leisure... I'm a bit afraid of what they might be calling forth over there if we don't take them on now". 1d100 ⇒ 39 Cthulhu Mythos (02%)

Colt follows Jake down the hallway, trying to catch his breath from the arduous climb. He waits in the hallway flashlight in hand, as Jake checks out each room, and keeps alert for any signs of detection. 1d100 ⇒ 23 Stealth (25%)... and for a change is actually quiet.

"I would think we might be able to ask any neighbors, or perhaps if we find close by lodging we might get a feel for the activities in the manor. In any case any further investigation should probably wait for the cover of darkness... especially since they've been uncovered a bit. They'll probably be on high alert".
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt views the objects with the others, and though bile rises in his throat at the 'Wrongness' of the objects, he is resolved, that if he can do anything to slow down or end this macabre scenario, he must do so. "Yes. I agree Sylvia. At least that is a known target. Let us go there and see what the awaits us".
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt heaves as he tries to catch his breath. "I almost got caught on their ship. I was trying to listen, and the platform I was hiding on was picked up and lowered into the ship. Thankfully I was able to find a side door, and sneak my way off. Most of the crates had labels on them. Cairo Museum, Egypt, however you can see that this label covers another slightly older label which reads "Ho Fang Import/Export, Kaoyang Street, Shanghai, China "This is big. Real big. I don't know where to turn next".

Colt quickly grabs a bottle off the top of the trash can, and pretends to drink it, stumbling around a bit, before finally collapsing with his back against the wall, and pretending that he finally succumbed to whatever he'd been drinking.

1d100 ⇒ 68 Mythos (02%) 1d100 ⇒ 72 Sanity (Currently 30 out of 40 Max.) Colt can't seem to take his eyes off the paintings. Does the artist look familiar? Are the paintings signed" Finally he realizes that Sylvia had been talking to him... "What? Oh yeah I wouldn't want to be too obvious at this time... but this is disturbing on so many levels". Colt takes out a notepad, and begins to sketch the contents of the room noting their location.
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
"Sure thing". 1d100 ⇒ 73 Spot Hidden: 40 I almost only play Gumshoe (Trail of Cthulhu) on my investigative games now. I hate going the right place for a clue, doing the right things, and then the dice tell you you're an idiot. :-) Gumshoe if you have the skill you find the clue, and go the right place you find the clue...period. You can spend points to find out more, but knowing what to do with the clues once you find them becomes the focus.
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt checks himself out of the hospital, a little worse for the wear, but as healthy as he normally is. "That's not a bad idea. Seems that that there were some weird sacrifices and crap going on in Nairobi with a group called 'The Bloody Tongue'. They had some spell or something to call forth a being called 'Nyalathotep' to the best of my understanding. Rumor is there was also a division of this cult right here in bloody England... so that might be a lead of sorts... though I wouldn't know where to begin looking for rumors of this cult". Colt sighs, and throws his book sack on his lumpy mattress. "Perhaps some research"?
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
While Colt recuperates he'll take the time to study about the book. "Let's meet up somewhere in a couple of days and see what we've found out. Those paintings... those horrid paintings. What happened with them"? I'm a bit overwealmed right now and confused about what we're supposed to do next.
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt is both relieved and apprehensive when Sylvia shows up. After all he ran and deserted those depending upon him. When he sees how relieved she seems to be he croaks out a few words. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to desert you guys. I don't know what came over me... it was... I don't know... just too much. But I feel better now". He rises to his feet. "Guess I'll need to find my suitcase and change clothes. They gave me some they had here in lost-and-found, but they are a bit baggy, and short". 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Sanity regained And colt remains a bit shaky... jumping at every loud noise and quick movement. I swear I've never had this many terrible rolls for characters in a PbP :-)
Male Human (Irishman) HP 9/9: SAN 37/30 Missionary - Spiritualist
Colt looks at Jake, his breathing intensifies, and be begins to fidget. "Sorry". He tears up the steps from the cellar, his big hat falling off as he runs, but he doesn't even slow down as he heads out the front door, not even bothering to close it. He runs up the street away from the house not stopping till he is way out of site of that cursed place. Where am I? |
