Male Human Cleric 2

Spoiler:

Seeing the gnome, Cole's face is a mixture of confusion and fear "What could he be doing here" the cleric thinks to himself, but then sees the wild-eyed companion.

After seeing Nira's lack of initiative in helping this man, Cole rushes over to him, his movements easier now that he removed his heavy armour. Cole will ask the man to lie down, or have the acolyte hold him down, while he investigates what's affecting him, and hoping to tend to the wounds, if possible.

Heal Check (1d20+8=27)

Male Human Cleric 2

For HP, do we use an average amount or roll for it?

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will also agree to meet again as fate would have it.

sorry for the disappearance, I was called away on business unexpectedly without internet access (Rural China's a funny place). I'm back and ready to go

Male Human Cleric 2

Sense Motive; Know(local) (1d20+3=20, 1d20+1=19) WOW! IC Loves Cole!

Seeing Fraz's frustration and listening to his words, Cole decides to intercede to assist his friend.

"Good evening Grau Soldado, you are a Watch Sergeant are you not? I have heard of the great things you've done for the Korvosan Guards and it is an honour to meet you. What are you doing out here during this chaos? Your men need you and your leadership!" Cole says to the obviously drunken man.

Trying to use Diplomacy on him Diplomacy (1d20+6=14)

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole is wearing his homemade scalemail with his holy symbol hanging openly. Clothing isn't an option with the heavier armour. No knowledge Nobility here either.

I'm going to be out of town on vacation from 6/28 - 7/6 without internet. Please NPC Cole, or he can follow quietly, whaterver's easier.

Male Human Cleric 2

"Burying the remains of Zellara and checking on the kids. Both of which can be accomplished at the Temple. Sounds like a plan, let's move. Hopefully we can avoid getting caught up in any more violence tonight. Also, I'm wondering how much those things are worth? They seem pretty valuable." Cole says to the group, while examining the contents of the strongbox.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole was awestruck during the entire engagement with Zellara, his mind not comprehending the events and simple shut down. Regaining his composure, Cole looks at the others "What do we need to do? I couldn't understand her cryptic message."

Male Human Cleric 2

"Indeed, we should stick together to avoid getting caught up in this chaos. This is quite the scene, if the Sable Company is so quickly overwhelmed, we must be on guard." Cole says, while he debates in keeping his sword drawn, but decides against it. Such aggressive actions will only lead to more bloodshed.

Male Human Cleric 2

"A well-thought plan indeed, I am all for assuring that the little ones are safe." Cole agrees

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will advance first up the ladder and will scan the area for any potential ambush before giving the all clear sign to those below. He's quite anxious to leave this place behind.

Spot; Listen (1d20+3=14, 1d20+3=9)

Male Human Cleric 2

"Perhaps we should move the strongbox to a more secure location? If that gnome ran and got reinforcements, I don't wish to battle anyone further this evening." Cole says, while picking up his longsword and wiping the blood on Gaedren's shirt.

He begins moving away from the body, then stops and picks it up, hefting it over one shoulder. Looking to the others, Cole will say "That shark needs to eat." coldly before walking towards the exit. He'll drop Gaedren Lamm off to feed the shark as he moves.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will stand numbly staring down at the bleeding body of Gaedren Lamm. He lets the bloody sword drop to the ground and wonders about the empty feeling in his heart. "This was supposed to end the pain, but it hasn't even dulled it" Cole thinks.

He is unsure of his next course of action as he sees that Gaedren isn't quite dead, torn between his desire for Lamm's death and his feeling that this isn't the right thing to do. When Leliestraat stabs Gaedren it shakes Cole from his musings. Realizing that the decision was made for him, Cole will help Leliestraat with looking over the body.

Male Human Cleric 2

Whoops... sorry about that.
Crit damage (1d8+1=4)

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole takes a step forward with his longsword drawn.

"Prepare to pay for all the children you've hurt, all the lives you've destroyed, Gaedron today is your judgement day!" Cole says as he swings at the enemy.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will burst into the room, converting his ability to turn the undead and gaining divine speed and health as he rushes along the path towards Gaedron.

Using Divine Vigor, increase your base speed by 10 feet and gain +2 temporary hit points per character level. These effects last a number of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier (2).
Move Action, Move to L13 (if it's free, otherwise R18)

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will push past Leliestraat to breach the room, he's willing to charge first.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will cautiously follow Gawain down the ladder, as soon as he's able.

Taking 10 also, total check is 6

Male Human Cleric 2

"Perhaps we should continue on to catch Gaedren before he realizes we're here. I'm sure our combat made a lot of noise and if he's heard it that rat will be trying to escape." Cole says, walking towards the open bay.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will silently follow the others, letting them make the decisions, his emotions a mix of anger and apprehension. Cole's nervous for this encounter and despite all his earlier bluster deep down he's terrified of Gaedren.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole attempts to strike once again at the half-orc, hoping to take him down and open up an opportunity to strike the gnome.

Attack; Damage (1d20+4=6, 1d8+2=5)

Male Human Cleric 2

As he brings the sword down into the half-orcs shoulder, Cole calls out to the others "There's someone hiding down the hall, probably the gnome. Be careful"

Male Human Cleric 2

Pat:

Spoiler:
Can I call out to the others as a free action before my next initiative? Cole'd let them know about the small figure hiding in the shadows.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will step over to next to the door and begin waving his sword above his head in a circle, trying to get the others attention. When he does, Cole points to the door and lifts up two fingers, then points again, hoping his message got across. Cole readies an attack if someone hostile comes through the doorway.

Move to O12, point to the door at N12.
Attack; Damage (1d20+4=18, 1d8+2=8)

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole loathes to kill an animal, even one as aggressive as this one, but it's hurt his companion and he can't let that stand. He brings his longsword down hard on the dog with an overhand chop.

Attack; Damage (1d20+4=17, 1d8+2=10) Nice! Contingency: If the dog's already dead, Cole will move to R12 (if he can) and attack the man with the wand.

Male Human Cleric 2

"All of you, get out now! Gaedren's coming! Get to the Pantheon." Cole says in his normal voice, knowing that the element of surprise is now lost. He will cast Bless, affecting everyone in the area. Cole will then move in front of the door to R12 and await a response to the dogs call.

Casts Bless, moves to Q13

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole looks at Fraz with grstitude, most of these kids have never known any kindness as he knows all too well. He shares the same intense looks as Fraz, and once he hears his companion's words, Cole nods his agreement. He's anxious to move the kids out of here and is watches the door while they move out.

Male Human Cleric 2

"Children, I know of a safe place for you. I was once where you are now, please travel to the Pantheon of the Many , you know where that is, don't you? Tell them Cole sent you, can you remember that?" Cole whispers to the boy. "I need you to be strong and keep everyone quiet, we can't let Giggles or Mr. Gaedren hear us"

Diplomacy (1d20+6=24)

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole will be standing with Fraz waiting for the gnome's return and keeping his eyes and ears open for any threats. He is begining to get anxious and hopes that the rest of their companions hurry up.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole's concerned with keeping an eye out for potential threats, he continues to scan the area for anything that might looks out of place. He'll watch as Simn goes to warn the others to wait before proceeding with any further investigations.

Male Human Cleric 2

Initiative (1d20=16, 1d20=20, 1d20=17, 1d20=15, 1d20=11)
I hope I didn't waste all the good rolls on iniative ;)

Cole will follow Simn into the room, doing his best to remain quiet despite his armour, with his longsword drawn and at the ready.

Move Silently (1d20=19) forgot -4ACP, total should be 15

Male Human Cleric 2

"Yes, I must agree with Avalon, the last thing we want to do is let that rat escape. Perhaps we even strike from both angles? One group go in the loading doors and the other goes to the door near the river? I'd suggest that myself and Avalon, or Fras, go through the east, while the rest travel through the double doors?" Cole whispers to the others, while keeping his eyes & ears open

Perception - +3 Modifier

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole speaks up after Zellara finishes speaking,

"I'm also agree that tonight is the perfect night. We know where he is and we should strike before he can weasel out of his current hole. Thank you again Zellara, good luck."

Male Human Cleric 2

"I would not accept payment for this task even if you offered it Zellara, in fact it is I who feel indebted to you." Cole says to their host.

Male Human Cleric 2

Coles face blanches as the woman mentions the training of the abducted children, his mind racing back to his own days under Gaedran and remembers the horrors those children are facing. Tears well up in his as he speaks "M'lady, if you offered all the treasure of all the nobles in the city you would not have given me as great a gift as you currently are. I know your frustration well and I would gladly help you if it sees that fiend pay for his crimes. I am sorry for your loss and can only promise you that I will do my best to see him avenged"

Male Human Cleric 2

Reaching into his pocket, Cole pulls out his Harrow card and shows it to the group, it is The Winged Serpent. It shows a white serpent with a green head and rainbow wings, curled upon itself.

"Perhaps one of you is more skilled than I at reading the premonition's of this card?" Cole asks, as he returns the card to his pocket "I'm with you Fraz, I sure hope our host appears soon. All this waiting's making me anxious."

Male Human Cleric 2

Pat:

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole grabs a seat at one of the high-backed chairs and replies "Whoever set this up should be here shortly, there's some bread and drink in the basket. Personally, I'm going to hold off, at least until we meet our host." He'll pull the basket on the table and wait for the others.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole walks over to Fraz and says "Nice to see you made a new friend. You want to head inside and see what's going on? Those people are probably who we're here to meet."

Turning away, Cole stops and turns around looking at the stranger with Fraz. "My name's Cole, pleasure to meet you."

Male Human Cleric 2

"Well I suppose there's nothing wrong with just waiting around for a meeting. Sorry to bother you citizen. Good day" Cole says as he turns around and walks away from the cheerful fellow, his mind racing.
"Another person here for the meeting? Can it be that he received a card also?" Cole will let Fraz know about the gnome and his intentions.

Male Human Cleric 2

Cole strides over to the alley where the gnomish fellow was pointed out to him. As he approaches, Cole attempts to see anyone else that may be hiding with the gnome.

"Good afternoon citizen. A number of citizens have expressed concern over you hiding in the alley here. What are you up to skulking about in the shadows?"

OOC - Cole will be attempting to figure out if the gnome is here to hurt him and Fraz. If Simn tells a decent story and doesn't panic, I'm sure that Cole will leave him alone. If he tells an obvious lie and is caught, Cole will press further and give a signal to Fraz waving him over.

Roll:

Male Human Cleric 2

After the quick discussion with Fraz, Cole will continue his "patrol" and keep an eye out for the individuals that Fraz mentioned.

For DM:

Spoiler:
I was thinking of having Cole go and question the gnome (if he could see him) to both help his act and also to maybe scare the gnome away if he's there to cause trouble. I don't want to slow things down though. Your thoughts?

Male Human Cleric 2

For Fraz & DM:

Spoiler:

"I'm with you Fraz. Let's check this place out and I'll do my best not to stick out like a sore thumb." Cole says as he tucks his holy symbol under his clothes to try to appear more like one of the Korvosan guards who'd likely be seen in this area. He walks with an air of confidence that one expects in their authority figues and hopes that this act fools onlookers.

Bluff (1d20+2=22)

Male Human Cleric 2

For Fraz

Spoiler:

During Fraz's tale Cole will become more and more interested and concerned. He'll reach into his pocket and pull out his Harrow card and show it to Fraz. It's the Winged Serpent. It shows a white serpent with a green head and rainbow wings, curled upon itself.

"It appears we have more in common than originally thought, Fraz. I was going to come visit you after I completed my tasks here, but I'm thankful you came. As you said it might certainly be a trap, it's something Lamm would do. I'm glad that we can face this together, as Lamm's a coward and if it is a trap maybe the two of us together will intimidate him. Let me grab my gear and we can be off."

Once they are away from the temple, Cole will stop Fraz "I've never told you why I hate Gaedren have I? Before we go into this I want you to know, just in case. I used to be one of his "Little Lamms" when my mother sold me to that vile person to cover her drug habit. For years I toiled in his shadow, always afraid of being beaten for some trivial mistake. I managed to escape and the church took me in, I owe them my life and I intend to stop him from hurting others the way he hurt me."

During this tale Cole becomes more and more animated clenching and unclenching his fists.

Male Human Cleric 2

Spoiler:
"Good Afternoon, Fraz what brings you by this neck of the woods? Nira said it was urgent, sorry for keeping you waiting, is everything ok?" Cole will ask Frasides as he hustles into the room and shakes the man's hand.

Male Human Cleric 2

Spoiler:

Thinking to himself, "This had better not be at trick" Cole will complete his daily tasks as usual, although he can't quite concentrate on what he's working on as his mind races back to that dark time in his life. As the day wears on, Cole grows more and more anxious for this meeting. He debated contacting his newfound kindred spirit, Fraz, but decided against it. Cole will strap on his gear, say a brief prayer to Iomadae and head out. He'll remain cautious of this meeting as it seems too good to be true.

If it helps any one to make links for character connections, I have added background - pending Pat's approval - for perusal. Just making the suggestion, in case it will help...

Quickly looking at your background maybe your investigations could have lead you to/through Cole, while looking for Gaedren? I'm sure Cole would be happy to help you in your search as he'll be looking to avenge those hurt by that fiend also.

Male Human Cleric 2

The background info is up (for review), and corrected my mechanical mistakes.

P.S. I happened to be looking at Longreach and noticed that for your craft skill you have WIS as the key modifier, it should be INT. Much better for you.
