Do I need to make a rule about hijacking the thread? I enjoy having some roleplay here but I'm only seeing one person interacting.

I've tried to invite others to play. I suppose everyone is still out watching Star Wars and wrapping up their holiday shopping though. Still, it sorta seemed to be already hijacked by the recruitment thread. Either way, I'll stop and let folks get a word in edgewise.

"Ladies?"

"Ladies, It's the holidays could you please just try to get along for an evening or two."

"Just humor her." Coiger says from behind his hand.

"He means an adventure." Coiger says drearily. "Go on. All the Gameday people will be here soon enough."

"One lousy medium spider."

"Just a medium spider...." Coiger says again staring down into his drink.

"Just a spider. It wasn't even a very big spider. Just a medium spider really." Coiger says sadly.

"Nothing. We never even got to it." Says a slightly maudlin man dressed in the somber vestments Pharasmin sect.

It was the mustache, wasn't it?

Well, do the rest of us want to find a GM to continue the game? I only ask because I picked up the GMing duties for another group (a Kingmaker campaign) here on the website when their GM left. Basically they put out a call on the recruitment thread searching for a replacement. Thoughts?

So three 4 hour watches for a total of 12 hours?

Coiger and Morgrym should not be on the same watch given their Perception scores and their preferences, that leaves watches looking like this thus far:

Coiger's got first watch. 1-1/2 to 2 hour shifts?

Coiger could only imagine--then, when he got a clear enough image, methodically profile--the sort of twisted psyche that would plum such topics and irremovable stain it would leave on their blackened soul. If he had had the capacity, he might have shivered.

"So the 'Splatter man.'" Coiger says as if it was something he had found on the bottom of his shoe. "Given the circumstances, of the killings commited here one could assume that we are dealing with some dopplecat (the Golarion vesrion of a 'copy cat') of Professor Feramin and that whatever it is that is doing this will follow a similar pattern."

Done, Coiger rejoins the group know where they are or failing that looking for great plumes of smoke upon the horizon. He of course says his goodbyes to Father and sees Kendra safely home first.

Coiger waits until the father and Kendra are out of the room and then heads to the archives. If he doesn't know where they are Coiger asks the stern priestess.

The woman draws a spiral over her heart as she inclines her head to her Brother. "Mmm." she confirms, still eyeing Kitch suspiciously. As you can see, Brother, Father Grimburrow is unavailable. You may wait for him, if you like. Has your...companion been taught the proper behavior in a sacred temple of the Grey Lady?

"Sister." He addresses the woman with a bow. "We have come to see Father. Is he free?"

He thinks better of calling "Boo!" in the faces of the women, and instead simply spits to the side of the road and continues stumping along. "Maybe best me, Sohar, 'n Chellian head over to th' monument whilst Coiger 'n Kitch head t' the temple. If'n we show up first thing 'n they'll no' think it was us what did this - no criminal gonna show up that quickly to the crime scene!"

"Fine, fine. Just don't stir thin-- What am I saying? Kendra, Kurkorikt, we will just have to rely your manners and constitution respectively to keep the good father preoccupied."

"Morning. Brother Coiger, I'm with the church." He introduces himself, flashing his Pharasmin symbol again like it was a badge.

"I couldn't help, but overhear. You mentioned some miscreant has killed an animal and marred a monument? We've been working with the Sheriff to find these hoodlums. Please explain to me what you know."

So, Kurkorikt, Morgrym, Chellian(?), Kendra and Coiger, head out to visit the church. On the way Coiger stops by Zokar's for more good bourbon. Coiger also surreptitiously checks to see how well Zokar (or anyone else he runs into) slept the night before.

When they get to the church, Coiger attempts to see the town records, allowing Kendra (and anyone else) to take the lead (he adding in when needed). The hope is to befriend the friar (via diplomacy or sauce) enough to get in to see the records. Maybe someone with a good Fortitude save who Grimburrow takes a shine to stays with him to talk him up with Kendra and the rest of us search the stacks.

"If there's nothing else?" Coiger says with a last glance at Sohar. He snaps up his book, gathers his things, and hammers one more cup of coffee before they leave.

Sohar looks directly at Kitch, still avoiding Coiger's gaze. "Ole Grimburrow as much as said that the church has records of those that died, though he didn't seem too intent on helpin' us out with said information. Doubt much has changed since yesterday. Maybe if we tell 'im about the dreams people been havin' and we want to help? Otherwise, going to 'im again seems like just askin' 'im to alert the lawmen."

"True, but today we know what we are looking for." Coiger says placing a hand on his ledger. "Mostly." with a glance at Sohar. "If we can keep Father preoccupied, I might be able to sift through the records and find what information we need."

"No, I'm not scared. However given the local government's view on keeping the ruins off limits and their threat to imprison trespassers well, you'll have to excuse me."

"The place will undoubtedly watched by the local authorities, now that we have tipped our hand. Fortunately, we'll have your eyes to guide us there."

While one can be certain that birds cannot shrug, Lyra's eyes widen and she ruffles her feathers as if asking What do you want me to do; you know I'm a bird, right?

Coiger harbors doubts about that. Well played bird, if that's what you are.

"Agreed." Coiger says but not without a lot of reservation. He slams the book shut. "We should stock up during the day and then attempt it under cover of night."

You had a rough night last night too right Coiger....

Without looking away at Sohar he says: "Yes." As Sohar seems to be avoiding them, he locks eyes with Lyra as if to say to the decorative bird: 'Fine. You get him to talk.'

Stares expectantly, pen poised to write.

"Speaking of dreams...." Coiger says aiming his ledger at Sohar.

Kitch half grins, half grimaces as the haggard looking Chellian comes in and downs the copious amounts of coffee. "Looking about like I'm feelin' Chellian lady."

"Excellent!" Coiger says (almost gleefully). He opens his ledger on the table and draws his pen. "Tell me all about it."

Coiger jots it all down. "And that is all? There is nothing else?" He waits for a reply and when satisfied by her answer he closes the ledger and says: "Thank you. It is nice to know that there is someone upon whom I can rely within our troupe. Good night."
He closes the door and returns to bed putting his beneath his pillow.

"Your dream--the one with the bloody handwriting; how much do you remember?!" He poises his pen above the ledger balanced on his forearm.
"Too tired. I should have done this yesterday." He mutters.

Yes! I'm fine! Go away! No! wait! Give me a moment." Coiger has been furiously jotting down everything he can remember about his dream in his ledger book by the glow of a light spell cast upon his holy symbol.
A long moment later, during which Chellian hears him moving about and possibly muttering to himself details of the dream that woke him, he bursts through his door in his night cap and gown (all in a charcoal gray of course). He looks a bit manic and disheveled, aside from his mustache--which is perfect as always.

If not the fearful cry then you probably would have heard the fall to the floor. I doubt that we are far enough away that you would not have heard it. This from someone who is always bashing into things and crying in pain. Heck, my neighbor came over once.

"Ah!" **THUMP**

Kendra raises an eyebrow when Chellian mentions 'Mr. Muricar.' You didn't know Varro was Gharen's son? Is that a problem?

So, I guess we're bringing a bottle of bourbon with us to the temple tomorrow? Only about half remains of my father's bottle, but Zokar will have more, I expect.

I have news of my own. While you all did your work today, I did some of my own here in my father's archives. I have learned some unsettling secrets my father kept on the Whispering Way. Should it come to light that they were indeed involved then we'll want to be prepared.

The Whispering Way are an ancient cabal of necromancers. They frequently ally themselves with the greater undead and enslave the lesser. Tar Baphon himself was their leader for a long time. Their learning can only be shared by whisper, thus their name. They are exceptionally talented infiltrators. The ultimate goal for the most devout of them is to learn and carry out the formula to become a lich. If this is truly the enemy we face, I fear we may be in over our heads.

Anyway, in the excitement of this mystery, I sometimes forget that it's my own father's death that we're investigating. Thank you all for the work you're doing. I'm going to retire to my room and do some thinking about my plans. I'll accompany you all to the temple tomorrow and then I'm going to visit Alendru's schoolhouse to see what records he has. Sohar, he deals in items of magical quality. You may be interested, should you care to accompany me.

Bluff (conceal amazement): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

"Yes. Well. Goodnight." Coiger excuses himself and retires to his as-of-yet unslept in bed.

Kendra looks to each of you. What will you do now?

"Seems we'll need to visit Father Grimburrow tomorrow. I doubt though that he will be any more receptive to our investigations than he was last night." Coiger says rubbing the bridge of his nose and looking quite tired.

"Well, that's as good a haul as one might 'ope!" He looks around at the others, eyes bright, "I'm knowin I just got 'ere, but umm... what'r you folks planning t'do with all them goodies?" and grins broadly.

"They will be handed out to those who can make the best use of them." Coiger answers automatically as he inspects the divining board.

Coiger probably lays claim to some of the scrolls and suggests that the arrows go to Sohar and... and.... Don't tell me--it's on the tip of my tongue.... You know the tall girl. Say, where is she?
