Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Bluedove, Could you go ahead and make this game inactive?

:(

Cinder conjures up a small flame in her tiny hand as she moves into a position to see the "enemy". She throws the small ball of fire at the wounded enemy hoping to gain advantage from focused fire. As the flame strikes at her target a new flame rekindles in her hand replacing the one thrown.

Produce Fire: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Not sure it matters, but I was taking 2 for a buns to hid due to small size, is that correct?

Glad the semester has wrapped up for you. How did you do? What are you studying by the way?: I finished my masters in 2010. Thinking about going back for something else.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Cinder stays hidden but ready to fight the other puppets, if need be. Are we sure they are not victims as well? she asks quietly.

Cinder creeps along the ledge near the back of the order.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

regaining control of her rage the druid doll calms. Yes, of course you are right. It is the dolls that must be destroyed AFTER we regain our own bodies. I am Cinder and I am a healer and herbalist, when I am not in a rage. She manages to laugh at herself. But I do have a hot temper at times. If I could rest at dawn I could better prepare spells to that end. I fear I am mostly prepared to burn things at the moment.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Hearing the Paladin's story angers Cinder. The idea that someone one, or some thing has control of her body and might do any number of unspeakable things while in control of it pushes her past some limit and her hands begin to smolder. Her palm actually blacken slightly as her fixed facial features are nearly, nut not quite forced into a visage of anger. Grrr! I cannot even scowl in this little doll body! I too shall have my body back. That I pledge. I will join you, but do not expect me to show mercy to these creatures Paladin. I do not hold to your code. I have chosen a more "natural" path.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

South is as good a direction as any for Cinder.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

I believe Cinder has the silver needle from Gatto. But in all I think there are plenty to go around if we share.

Do we look for our walking bodies? are there still emery dolls about who hunt for other bodies?

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Cinder pipes in I know herbs and can make all sorts of teas. Oh, and I like animals, and most of them like me. She rummages through the tool box and pulls out a pair if curved scissors, its two halves held together with a small screw. A few quick turns of an appropriately sized screw driver and she has them in half. Holding up one have it seems she has a make shift scimitar sized just right for her. Holding up her new weapon she adds And I can cast fire spells.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

I'd take a turn running. I have been promising myself that I would eventually run on-line. I gotta figure out how to make and post maps but I am just not gonna until I am forced to do so.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

I just got here and have not had a chance to burn anything yet. :)

I was hoping this would be a great place to role play and do not want to drop. I am fine with rebooting if needed but do not reboot for me. I have already read much of the back story and am up to date. I love the story line and the suspense/horror of it all.

That said, if people need to slow down for finals and holidays I understand that and am good with it.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Cinder will continue to tend to cat's wounds and to keep it calm and friendly once she feels there is no immediate threat from the other group. You new puppets, no fast movements around Gatto here. He is friendly enough for now but I fear he has been abused by puppets in the past. Everyone act extra friendly to him please. I need soap and water and maybe some alcohol to clean these deeper and older wounds. Would anyone have any healing magic? No use saving it for ourselves. If we are constructs now its not going to do us much good.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Thats's a nice kitty. Cinder rubs the cat affectionately .

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

You go by Gatto? How clever. I bet you are much more clever than your owner. Your old owner that is. And my but you are in rough shape. Lets see if I can help you some. Cinder will try to climb from the box and begin to care for the cat's injuries carefully removing the metallic item if she thinks it can be done safely and without too much pain.

Heal Check: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

I'll go with +9 and be pleased. :) Always better to make friends than to have to put something down. I am a cat person myself, although I live with both two dogs and two cats.

If Nicu tries to spear my new friend things might get hot for him. :)

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

And Bluedove, I had a question about my perception score that you never got back to me on. The character you provided had two different perception scores. The first character block says +3, but skills say +11. Can you clarify. That's a big difference.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

A cat you say. Yes, I could burn the feline, but perhaps I will not have to. I have an, well an affinity for most natural animals. This one could be an ally. Raise the lid and let me see what it thinks of me. She stands near the lid ready to encounter the cat. She begins to coo and our as the lid is raised. Good kitty….

Wild Empathy with Guidance: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

I can indeed move my token.

Cinder frees herself from Shi-ru's graps and stands fully erect. I am Cinder. She says again, firmly claiming her identity. And I am not to be trifled with. Turning to the others she says We are victims of some type of possession and magic jarring by my guess. That would mean that someone, or something likely has our bodies. But they have miscalculated if they think we are helpless. I am still in contact with the elemental plane of fire. I feel its heat in my very soul. I may not longer be a full druid, but I have power and by the gods will not lay in a trunk and do nothing while someone else wears my skin. Before you open that lid further. Please tell me who you are and what you know of how you came to be in your current state.

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Already having fun screaming. :)

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 Wow!

Sensing that this strange doll means no harm and is truly trying to calm her, Cinder stops her screams and tries to stay herself. She still struggles weakly, her eyes are wide with terror, shooting back and forth madly. In a moment she calms and seems to have possession of her senses again. Sausage? No. Puppets ambushed us. Stabbed us with bright pins. She flexes the joints in her arms and legs remembering. I am Cinder. Are either of you Hazel? she asks, almost sure that you are not. A worried look manages to manifest itself across the doll's static features. What has happened to Hazel?

Female Construct Puppet: AC15 HP 19/19, Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3, DR 2/magic; Immune construct traits , Init +6, Darkvision, Perception +9 Druid 3ish

Meanwhile, the third doll in the box begins to stir. No! Leave her alone. let me up! comes the voice too loud for comfort and in obvious disorientation. The third doll then quiets and begins to struggle in her bonds, finally realizing she is restrained.

Escape Artist, untrained: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Suddenly Cinder sits up and removes the hood on her head. Her bonds, tied in haste have failed to take into account her new proportions and slump beside her. She blinks a couple of times, turning and taking in the other occupants of the box and a look of horror comes to her features. Slowly, as if fearing what she will see, she raises her right hand to her line of vision, and screams.

Glad you like it :)

Hey BlueDove, are you ok with this doll avatar? The clown looked too cartoonish and not very feminine to me.

And one question: in the first block above perception is +3, but in the skill section its +11. Which should I go by?

At the height of the Terran Commonwealth, centuries ago, there had been a network of planets, bound together under a common government on Earth. Seemingly alone in the universe, we forged an empire - democratically governed, but an empire all the same. Hundreds of worlds were exploited for the benefit of their new inhabitants, exploited for the benefit of Earth. And through it all ran an armada of starships made possible by the invention of faster than light propulsion.

But then the Systems War came and tore apart that empire and those wonderful vessels. And in the void that followed that war, the aliens came and swept mankind from the stars. No more was there a commonwealth of hundreds of worlds. Now there were hundreds of worlds living in their own isolated darkness, any attempt to fight back, to return to the stars, to take out our rage on our fellow man, ruthlessly suppressed by the aliens.

For two hundred years, we have lived in their shadow, their spire taunting us from the middle of Asia. For two hundred years, we, the people of Earth, have lived as slaves. For two hundred years, the Commonwealth government have bowed their heads to the aliens.

But today we are taking the first step to changing that. We are launching a vessel again. We are returning to the stars. We are fighting back.

-Director Anwar Said, Deronda launch address

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Deronda is a small vessel. At the time of the Systems War, she would have been on the verge of obsolescence, perhaps a light escort for merchant shipping. She was not made for comfort. But these were the only schematics known to survive the aliens. And she is your home now, gleaming steel carbont plating and all.

The ship has four decks, plus the bridge, to serve a total crew of 43. Rumor has it that the ship will not run with even that many for her shakedown cruise, though. In shape, she looks like a bird with wings outstretched.

The bridge is the nerve center of the ship, placed at the bird's head, cramped and filled with controls and displays of every description. In the middle of it all sits the captain, Ramjay Anish, surrounded by the bridge crew manning weapons, science consoles, and engineering readouts. Near the main screen is a bronze plaque, and on the plaque words can be seen to read: "The free ship Deronda, launched 7 August 197 New Calendar. We shall brave the stars for the betterment of all humankind."

Deck 1 is the top of the ship, spread across both wings and the body of the bird. It serves as the armory, shooting range, and supply storage, under the control of quartermaster Gunnery Sergeant Eli Quint. Quint is a large bear of a man, brawny and red-faced, from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA.

Deck 2 serves as crew quarters. There are also a canteen, gym, and assembly room in the event the crew needs to gather.

Deck 3 is home to engineering and the main computer systems, under chief engineer Lieutenant Commander Docila Santos, a Peruvian woman from Cusco. Santos is quick-witted and kind, her face no stranger to laugh lines.

Deck 4 is larger than the others and serves as the hangar bay for the ship's two shuttles that brought you on board. Deronda's limited manufacturing ability is found here as well. The hangar is overseen by a deck officer and an enlisted assistant, changing regularly. Because the hangar is very cold, this tends to be unpopular duty.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your quarters are small and sparse, with a narrow bed, footlocker, bathroom, and a desk with chair. Nothing here to write home about, but maybe it could be spruced up a bit.

You have an hour before the captain will address the crew in the assembly room, at 1600 sharp.

Deronda has been in orbit for a few weeks now. You can have arrived at any time up to today. Feel free to walk the decks, explore the ship, meet people in the canteen (or find something to eat), or whatever else you want to do. Just make sure you're on time for the meeting!

Discuss here! I COMMAND YOU!

There's a campaign I've been wanting to run for a long time, and now that I have a system and some concepts ready to go, I guess it's time for an interest check.

The system would be a slightly modified Future d20, with a whiff of the SG-1 system. If there's enough interest, I'll post all the nitty-gritty. It should be quite familiar to anybody who's ever played Pathfinder.

The campaign's high sci-fi (faster-than-light travel, cybernetics, psionics) with some harder elements (Isaac Newton's still the baddest mother in space). It'll be in the vein of Star Trek, Star Con 2, Mass Effect, or SG-1, with an emphasis on exploration and diplomacy but plenty of chances for combat in space and on the ground.

For now, just interest or any questions. If there are at least 4 people interested, I'll make a campaign thread.

We're a mismatched band of underdogs, short on magic and long on punching, whose DM has been gone for three weeks now. We're hoping to find someone to pick up the torch for our campaign, barely started, and carry on with us so we can fight the rise of the runelords!

Here's our discussion page.
