Our new adventure
Our current adventure: Realm of the Fellnight Queen
Stay Out of the Woods
Deep in the forest, something is stirring. An evil fey sorcerer, cast out of the First World millennia ago by her own kin, has found a way to break through the ancient walls of her prison, and carries with her a vengeance too deep to be sated. For the quiet Andoren town of Bellis, busy celebrating a long-awaited marriage, it's a time for joy and laughter. Yet the forest that's always sheltered it is growing dark, and things are moving in the heart of the woods...
We are always looking for local players to join our gaming community. Whether it's a session we run or if you are looking for table space to run your own group.
Our current games include Tuesday D&D Classic, Wednesday & Friday D&D 5E, Thursday Pathfinder and Saturday Hackmaster.
See the list and sign up here if you are interested

Hello,
Who we are
We run a weekly D&D game at our home between exits 10 & 11 off of rte 3 on the South Shore of MA. We meet every Saturday (with some few exceptions) from 10 am to whenever enough people have left to call it a night. We have stopped as early as 5pm, and as late as 1am. The game has been running for several years although the players have changed as folks move, schedules change, etc., as has the game system (Classic->AD&D->2nd edition->3rd->3.5->4E->Pathfinder) over the years.
We currently have seats available in our Classic Dungeons & Dragons campaign.
We get off track, laugh, make obscure Monty Python references and generally have a good time. For us, KotDT could be a personal blog.
As often as possible in the good weather we play outside in a dreaded gazebo.
Who we're looking for
Players who can commit to a weekly Saturday game from 10am on. Obviously life happens but we like to play as often as we can. We believe in the motto "the game must go on."
You can't be allergic to cats. You must fear nothing (except turtles). Ok, that last part is optional.
Knowledge of the game is not required; a desire to have fun is.
Please contact me if you have any interest in playing.
For 3.5/ Pathfinder I ask for initiative at the start of the session and at the end of each encounter. I then use that intiative when the next initiative situation arises (not always combat). Makes it feel a bit less "game-y", and sometimes I need to know the order before everyone is aware of anything going on. Not a dick move. Not really all that concerned with what the PRD says is the exact time you are "supposed" to roll init. Not trying to kill players. Just trying to make it more fun.

I have a fairly large group of varying players (not everyone can make it every week - but we play a weekly game of 12+ hours) and I have come up with a list of table rules
http://chrisd20.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=leaguebus& amp;thread=622&page=1#5825 (I guess you have to copy and past in a browser; but here they are
We have a rather large group. This can be a wonderful thing! It can also be a difficulty, so we are going to have to adopt some rules of the house.
They are intended to maximize everyone's enjoyment and minimize the potential of DM insanity
[1] With so many players the noise level will tend to rise. If you are having a conversation with someone that is not game-related, please move over to them so as not to disrupt the game
[2] It is very important to pay attention to the DM. I don;t want to have to talk over anyone else, so if I am talking (at least relative to the game) everyone else should be listening
[3] Although i am guilty of it as well, let's try to keep out-of-game meandering to a minimum. That way we can actually play more.
[4] Please pick up all your own trash by the end of the session.
[5] Character sheets and notes will be for each player to keep and maintain. If you forget to bring it, you have to roll up a new character. I am going to start concentrating on the campaign rather than everyone else's details (this should speed up gameplay for all games as well)
[6] Please only use smart-phones, tablets, etc. at the table if you are using them to manage some aspect of your character or the rules. Absolutely no playing other games at the table.
[7] Please do your best to get along with everyone at the table. This is a social gathering and should be a good time for all present.
[8] Please notify the DM as soon as possible as to whether you can or cannot attend a session, or will be late, or have to leave early. While this is only a game a social compact is implied and should be treated accordingly. Real life does happen but communication is key.
[9] No cheating! Let the dice fall where they may. If you do not trust me to do the same, we should not be playing together.
[10] There may be a time-limit as to how long you have to choose an action in combat. If the timer runs out you will be assigned the action of total defense (or a game-specific appropriate alternative)
[11] I'll call your character's name twice. If you don't respond you will be assigned the action of total defense (or a game-specific appropriate alternative)
I also use Herolab to track characters and email each player a pdf that lists out what their feats do, spell details, etc.
If interested in a sample let me know and I'll email you one of the 7th level clerics and you can se the details that are available to them.
Now, if they won't read what's in front of them that's another story.
On a personal note, (and in response to a response) if anyone ever told me it was my job to make it fun for them, I would invite them to go do something else, somewhere else.
Greetings,
We are an existing gaming group that meets at our home in Duxbury, MA every Saturday from 10am until enough people drop off to call it quits.
We are looking for additional players interested in joining our group.
We do play many other games and usually run for a few months at a time under one system before switching to something else to keep it fresh (but we always go back).
If you have any interest and/or questions please feel free to email me at chriszahnzinger@gmail.com
Thanks and have fun gaming!

(FYI, my intent is to create the character on my computer, and print out a hard-copy character sheet for play.)
I've been a big fan of Heroforge for my 3.5 games, and found two different Pathfinder "sheets" on the Heroforge site. I downloaded both of them, but wasn't thrilled with either of those. Are there other options out there that folks like?
Another vote for Herolab. I'm the DM in our group and I like it so much I have licensed copies on 3 different machines, for PFRPG, D20, CoC, DnD 4E. Absolutely love it!

The League of Ordinarily Extraordinary Gentlepeople is looking for players
What are we looking for?
Mature-ish individuals who want to play a variety of tabletop games and recognize the social contract of belonging to a group. Also please do not come with an eye to running RPG’s as our current DM quite enjoys that responsibility.
Where do we play?
Our house in Duxbury. We have several gaming-friendly rooms and outdoor areas for when the weather cooperates. We also have 2 cats so please don’t be allergic.
When do we play?
We currently play almost every Saturday at 10am to whenever, most Sundays 10am to whenever and most weeknights are available for shorter sessions
What do we play?
We are currently playing Pathfinder (Kingmaker campaign) peppered with Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green, and various board, card and miniatures games. We are also planning on starting the Great Pendragon campaign and would like to kick off a 1st-edition D&D campaign. We tend to play an adventure or so in a system and then change it out to keep things interesting. Sundays tends to be dedicated to non –RPG activities but that is at the will of the majority (with some deference given to the DM.)
Who we are
Our current gaming group consists of
a DM/GM (male 45) – has run every edition of D&D and many derivatives, Pathfinder, Hackmaster, Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon,
His wife (female 30) – has been subjected to above DM’s gaming whims for 15 years
Their daughter (female 18) – grew up playing games; availability varies as she prepares for college
Their son (male 19) – also grew up playing games but is rarely available due to college and a young person’s life.
Two brothers (male, ages 22 and 28)
How you can contact us
Email is the best method. Please send any interest and/or questions to chriszahnzinger@gmail.com.
Thank you for reading!

Character? No. Actions? Yes. I can divine that you once were accused of speeding. Assuming you still have a license I also assume you do not do it/get caught on a regular basis.
In the country illegally? Continued action that is against the law. Other character judegments don't come into it. Stop breaking our law. Seems simple enough.

What would be the distance for him to shoot (for range penalties and what not) and how do you determine distance in three dimensions like that.
some help on this or rules references would be very helpfull
a friend referenced the pythagorean theorem but if you use that the book should have something about it
Dragon issue 291 p. 62 has a chart that extrapolates 3-dimensional distances (it was created for underwater combat but it's the same idea). I'm fairly certain you can stil buy it from the store in both physical and pdf form.

Who we are: we are a group (of currently fluctuating size) looking to re-establish a core group of role-players who meet weekly (barring unforeseen circumstances) on Saturdays from noon to whenever-the-heck-we-want to play.
What we play: We're starting a Pathfinder campaign
Who we hope you are: Someone who can commit to a weekly game and at least communicate with us when you can't make it. Our games are a mix of hack-n-slash and role playing, and we may veer off topic a little at times, but our ultimate goal is to have fun while taking part in an unfolding story. If you are new to the game, don't worry. We have no problem teaching.

Hi I was just wondering if I could get an update on order #625850.
I placed it on April 2, and while it says it shipped priority on April 7, I still have not had the money taken from my account and have not recieved it.
I was wondering if it has in fact been shipped or if it is a back order issue, and if it hasn't if there is any estimate on when it will be shipped.
Thanks so much

Quest for the Unknown (Hackmaster Adventure B1)
1st-level PC's
You have heard parts of the story before, but never enough to know all of it, or even what is true and what is only legend or speculation. But it is a great and fascinating beginning in your own quest to learn more.
Rogahn the Fearless earned his name as a great warrior, and his reputation spread far and wide across the land. Zelligar the Unknown, equally renowned, earned his respected status and power as a foremost practitioner of the mystical arts of magic and sorcery.
No one knows what occurrences or coincidence brought these two men together, but tales tell of their meeting and forming a strong bond of friendship, a union that would last for the ages. As this occurred, legend has it, the two men virtually disappeared from the view of civilization. Stories occasionally surfaced about a rumored hideaway being built deep in the wilderness, far from the nearest settlement, away from traveled routes, and high upon a craggy hill – but no one seemed to know any more than that, or where this supposed hideaway was really located, or indeed if it was. No one knows for sure, but some say their motive was to pursue the common goals of personal greed and some kind of vague (or chaotic) evil. In any case, they jointly led a hermit life with but a few occasional forays into the outside world to add to their own reputations.
Many years passed, until one day a great gnome-titan invasion came from the lands to the northwest, threatening to engulf the Meletian Kingdom with the excessive carousing and oppression of the unchecked gnome-titan horde. Just when things seemed the darkest, Rogahn the Fearless and Zelligar the Unknown made their unexpected yet most welcome reappearance. Joining their powerful forces, they and their band of loyal henchmen met the gnome-titan army in a great battle at a narrow pass in the hills, and decisively turned back the invasion. Rogahn slew a horde of the little guys single-handedly and Zelligar’s powerful magic put the army to flight. It was a great victory, and a grateful populace of Frandor rewarded the pair and their consorts with considerable treasure. After that, the two heroes returned to their hideaway, and rumor has it that the spoils of victory were spent to further its construction, although some of it may yet be hidden somewhere.
The most exciting portions of the legend are the most recent. Last year, Rogahn and Zelligar apparently decided upon a joint foray into the lands of the hated Gnome Protectorates. Taking most of their henchmen and associates along with them in a great armed band, the two personages, it seems, disappeared into the forbidding little-folk lands to the northwest on a great adventure which come say may have been asked by the very gawds themselves.
Word just reaching civilization tells of some great battle in the gnome-titan lands where the legendary Rogahn and Zelligar may have met their demise. This rumored clash must have occurred some months ago, and there are few details – and no substantiation of the story. The only thing certain is that, if all this is true, Rogahn and Zelligar have left their secret base virtually unguarded…if only one had the knowledge and wherewithal to find their hideaway, he would have great things to explore!
Now, just recently, came the most promising bit of information – a crude map purporting to show the way to the hideaway of the two men, a place apparently called “Q.” One of your acquaintances has this map, and if its accurate, it could perhaps lead you to the mythic place that was their home and sanctuary. Who knows what riches of wealth and magic might be there for the taking? Yes, the risk is great, especially since the pair may yet still be alive and might even return any day, but the challenge cannot be ignored. Besides, others may get there first if you tarry long. Gathering a few of your fellows, you share the secret and embark on a Quest for the Unknown…

You are all townsfolk from the wilderness village of Dundraville. For the past few years, an ogre that lairs in a nearby cave has extorted goods from the town, in exchange for not attacking or destroying town property. Up until now, the ogre’s demands have been ale, sheep and mundane supplies. The townsfolk complied, and the ogre never bothered them. But last month, the ogre’s demands included gold and building supplies. This set the townsfolk on edge and then, just last week, the ogre returned to town two weeks early to demand more ale, gold, and, even worse, captive townsfolk! The good folk of Dundraville decided something had to be done. With the aid of the local druids and brewer in town they put together a plan to spike the ogre’s ale with a mild poison to help incapacitate the brute, but when they delivered the ale to the ogre without any prisoners in tribute, the ogre flew into a rage. The brute dragged two townsfolk off to its cave, to be eaten for sure. The ogre’s reign of terror must be stopped. Six brave citizens of the town have banded together with a plan to put an end to the evil ogre’s villainy. The brave ones include a noble’s son, a gnomish alchemist, a member of the town militia, a wizard’s apprentice, a local trapper, and a mysterious elven witch that lairs in a nearby forest.
