![]() Hi, all: Thilo Graf, aka Endzeitgeist, has out a PDF with our Bite Me! line of lycanthrope supplements: Bite Me! Meat-That-Screams. Check out what our favorite reviewer has created to bring some movie-madness to your game. Bite Me! Meat-That-Screams will sate Your Appetite for Lycanthropes "... and lead us not into temptation..." A lycanthrope is a being of raw power--and for some, "raw" is the key word. Warm blood dripping from its jaws, a were seems to grow in size, strength and menace. And always there's the ultimate temptation--release his grasp on sanity and give in completely to his animal nature to gain even more power and be free from the pitiful restraints of "civilized behavior." Bite Me! Meat-That-Screams is a 12-page supplement to the Bite Me! line of Pathfinder Roleplaying Game lycanthrope products available from Misfit Studios. Bite Me! Meat-That-Screams Contains:
Both a color and print-friendly version of the product are included. We've also added an intractable, tablet-friendly landscape version. ![]()
![]() Hi, all: I'm opening up the opportunity for a freelancer who is good at writing advanced class material, as per Paizo's Advanced Race Guide. Payment is 2 cents per word upon an accepted draft (meaning, after working with the developer and editor to fix any problems) for between 8-12K word count. Writers must be familiar with Misfit Studios's Bite Me! Playing Lycanthropes to effectively write for this line. I'm looking for writers for the following races: Werecrocodile [Assigned]
Wereboar may possibly be another needed. I have the other "standard" lycan races covered. You may pitch me something new, though. It won't get the highest priority, however. Ping me on the message boards if interested. Let me know what you've written before in the message and what kind of deadline you could meet. You have a better shot of getting the assignment if I am already familiar with you or your work. I'll decide on the authors by 12-30. ![]()
![]() Author Rich Howard designed a PDF series to take advantage of retraining from the Ultimate Campaign book called Mundane No More, Texts and Tomes. The 2nd in the series, The Lands Beyond, presents Asian-themed tomes. Here's some information about the series: Words. We love them. We’re gamers, after all. From novels to rule sets to textbooks to cereal boxes, non-magical language is the foundation of our imaginations. So why is it that PCs rifle through libraries in search of spellbooks and magical manuals while leaving generations of carefully cultivated knowledge strewn under their muddy boots? Mundane No More: Texts and Tomes, remedies this by turning fantasy (and modern) libraries into treasure troves of knowledge. Mundane texts provide opportunities for any literate member of an adventuring party to retrain unwanted feats, refocus their skill ranks into areas helpful to the campaign, and to gain rare and exotic recipes for poisons, inventions, and, yes, even magic items. Game Masters can use mundane texts to introduce plot twists, foreshadow events, patch holes in a party’s skills, and provide characters with the knowledge to confront enemies to come. Within the pages of Mundane No More: Texts and Tomes you'll find: ● A four-tier ranking system that describes the knowledge each text contains and how your characters can benefit from it. ● A system for using tomes to retrain your character's skills, feats, spells and more, compatible with the retraining rules found in Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Campaign. ● Detailed crafting-recipe rules that encourage characters to research the creation of mundane tools and weapons, alchemical preparations, and magical items as opposed to "knowing it all" with a single skill rank ● Creation rules for mundane texts. ● A dozen pre-built tomes and manuals of all types and tiers ready to drop into your campaign right now. Don't wait, pick up a copy and add the power of the written word to your character’s arsenal! ![]()
![]() Hey, Paizo. You know I love you, but you have forgotten to represent us women gamers on your staff. You have zero women on your RPG design/dev team, so you are not even reaching the lowly three percent number of women designers in the video game industry. And your newest hire in editing, which is a field that women tend to dominate in general publishing, is a man. Please add some diversity in your staff. You are a leader in diversity in gaming in publishing, so please be a leader in diversity in hiring, as well. We look to you to lead this industry against sexism. ![]()

Playing Lycanthropes presents rules and advice for playing natural and afflicted lycanthropes in the Pathfinder system, as well as a new and customizable natural shapeshifting race balanced against other advanced races, all written and designed by two-time Ennie-nominee, Robert H. Hudson, Jr. Everyone knows the story about the character that failed their saving throw and contracted lycanthropy, messing the whole game up. That’s because they didn’t have this book to help them! ![]() Hi, all: Here's a link for my IndieGoGo Medusa's Guide for Gamer Girls. I am VERY passionate about getting more women interested our tabletop RPG hobby. I'm just as passionate about wanting to advise women on how break into the gaming industry as writers or editors, as women are often more fearful of putting themselves out there--whether it be the fear of rejection or failure. But the hobby just flat-out needs more female representation! Now, even though I've been nicknamed THE Feminist Conspiracy, I really enjoy my male gaming friends! So note that this is not a book I will write to exclude them or degrade them; in fact, I'll seek some male perspectives on the issues brought up within the book. But I do want to discuss the problems we face as women gamers and how to overcome them, and some of those problems involve dealing with guys who are not very open minded or who simply see women as objects. I also want to introduce readers to some positive women role models who are industry professionals, and I want to talk about how women can break into this industry--if that is their goal. This book has been inspired by the many panels I've done on the topic of women and gaming, especially by the Gamer Girls Unite & Write panel I did with Amanda Hamon and Amber Scott at PaizoCon 2013. Those have all been well-attended--by both men and women--panels. So, I guess you might want to know who the heck I am before supporting this project. I've been a gamer since the early 1980s, having started with D&D. I play Pathfinder (including PFS), Savage Worlds, and RIFTS, mostly--but I will try most any RPG. I had my first publication in Dungeon #61, which I co-authored with a friend. Nowadays, I write, edit, develop, and publish gaming material. I'm a developer with Rogue Genius Games and Misfit Studios; and I publish my own line at Christina Stiles Presents. I've done freelance work for Paizo Publishing, Kobold Press, Green Ronin Publishing, White Wolf Studios, Troll Lord Games, and many others. In 2012, I was a GenCon Industry Insider Guest of Honor. You can find my website (which needs updating to add more book releases) at www.christinastiles.com. One of my upcoming projects is Strange Brew: The Ultimate Witch & Warlock for Pathfinder, which is kickstarting now through February. In short, I love RPGs! I love them so much, in fact, that I want to write, edit, develop, and publish them on a full-time basis. So backing this electronic book (pdf, mobi, epub) helps me leave the day job behind and be able to support my family. My husband and I have had a very hard time of things over the last few years (he's been unable to work for 3 years, and has been trying that long to receive disability; because of this, I had to file Chapter 13 bankruptcy), but I believe we are headed for better times; and my working on the things I love and being at home help me and the husband enjoy a closer relationship. So, support a book about women and gaming to help a woman gamer and game designer make a full-time go of her dream. ![]()
![]() From now through February, you can add some lycan or demon love to your campaign for $2.99! Bite Me! Wereblooded presents the scions of natural lycanthropes and humanoids, designed by Ennie-award winning author, Ben McFarland. While they lack their parent's lycanthropic gifts, wereblooded share a animalistic heritage while appearing mostly—but not quite—like their unchanging humanoid parent. Truly windows to the soul, the eyes of a wereblooded reveal their bestial nature, though this subtle difference means many still manage to live hidden in larger communities or on the fringes of society. Denied this luxury, monstrous wereblooded bear the animal head of their lycanthropic parent's animal form. A new race for your Pathfinder RPG campaign, wereblooded offer players and GMs a choice between a humanoid and a monstrous humanoid version. Within the pages of Bite Me! Wereblooded you'll find: ● A look at Wereblooded society, relations with other encountered races, their alignment and religion, reasons for adventuring, and possible names for male or female characters. ● Three potential clans for Wereblooded of different stock: the cat-like felis, the wolfish lupis, and the bear-inspired ursus. Additionally, alternate racial traits, subtypes and geographical distinctions allow for further customizing of Wereblooded characters. ● Race-specific favored class options mean characters may select alternative rewards when gaining new levels besides a simple hit point or a skill point. ● For characters looking to temporarily take on a lycanthrope's hybrid body, the incantation of Claim the Ravenous Hunter’s Form provides a skill-based magic anyone can learn! ● A pair of sample characters in both humanoid and monstrous humanoid versions, letting GMs scale the initial introduction of Wereblooded to their games as they see fit. Don't wait, take the chance and get your wild on today! Forces of Darkness – Zunirei of the Thousand Eyes presents a demon who isn’t interested in your player characters’ souls, or setting the universe on fire. Instead, her interests lie in discovering the best-hidden secrets of your campaign world and revealing them for all to see, spreading chaos and disorder through their revelation. No one – governments, priesthoods, celestial beings, or even other demons - is safe from her desire to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets. What secrets do your players have, and can they keep them safe from her Thousand Eyes? Each volume of Forces of Darkness contains a detailed history of a NPC to help you understand how they came to be a threat worthy of your players’ characters, a discussion of their motivations to help you design plots for them to enact, notes on allies and henchmen they regularly employ, a discussion of their tactics to help you when your players start to push back against their machinations, and several story seeds to help get you started integrating them into your campaign. Each focal NPC is presented in a minimum of two fully developed stat blocks, one version at their default power level, and a second, mythic version, to maximize their usefulness. Misfit Studio’s Forces of Darkness line is an ongoing series of Pathfinder® Roleplaying Game compatible character supplements, each highlighting a single unique opponent to bedevil characters in your game. Written with a world-neutral point of view, each supplement is designed to give you an opponent that can be easily dropped into your campaign with minimal adaptation, thus making your life easier as a GM, all the while providing unique characters with unique plans and points of view to spice up sessions in your games. ![]()
![]() The Talented Adventurers of SpirosBlaak is a pdf Rogue's Gallery of characters set in SpirosBlaak and Freeport. It uses the OGC Talented Guides from Rogue Genius Games. Characters will be presented from 1st to 20th level. The funds for the project go to help some my household, my friend's, and my sister's get through the end of the year. The bulk of the funds will go to my sister and her son, who suffered a house fire this June. They lost everything, including their family pets. My sister has a house now, but she could use help in getting some bills paid and I'd like her to be able to get her teenaged son something for Christmas, as well. I'd honestly like to be able to help her a great deal. She's disabled and is a single parent. Her son's father died 13 years ago in a vehicle accident with her son in the car. She's been through some very tough times, and could really use some help. I've had several folks volunteer to create a character, including the Talented Guides creator, Owen K.C. Stephens. Other friends who've volunteered to help include: Mike Welham, Steven Helt, Rick Hershey, Thilo Graf, Mark Gedak of Purple Duck Games, Matt Stinson, Amanda Hamon, Jacob Blackmon, Andrew and Heleen Durston, and Robert Hudson, Jr. More folks may sign up. I hope you find the product of interest. This is a Christina Stiles Presents product. It is not affiliated with Rogue Genius Games, though it will be using OGC from RGG. ![]()

![]() Hi, all: I'm leading a book on lycanthropes bo be published by Misfit Studios. The kickstarter goes live on Feb 1st, but I wanted to get the word out before then, so you can think about joining this project. I'll be running it similar to the Open Design projects for Kobold Press I've recently run (Journeys to the West and Midgard Tales--both of which are closing out very soon). Here's a glimpse at the kickstarter: Bite Me! The Gaming Guide to Lycanthropes. Note that Wolfgang Baur, Dave Gross, and Spike Y Jones are also involved in this project! Ben McFarland, Steven Trustrum, Jason Stoffa, Rick Hershey, Marc Radle, Peter Bradley, and POSSIBLY YOU will also be involved. For those of you who dont' know me, I've been writing in the tabletop gaming industry for over a decade. My first publication was in DUNGEON #61, "Jigsaw"--co-authored with Dan DeFazio. Since then, I've worked for Kobold Press (many books!), Paizo (the upcoming Animal Archive and Champions of Purity), Atlas Games, White Wolf Studios, Misfit Studios, and Troll Lord Games--among many others. I wrote two adventures and other bits in Kobold Press' 2012 ENNIE-winning Streets of Zobeck. Anyway, I've always been interested in Lycanthropes, and I'd like to create the go-to Pathfinder book for them. Note that the ultimate stretch goal for the project is a similar book on dhampir. Please consider supporting or joinging the project, and please help spread the word! Many thanks! ![]()
![]() My husband (Tracy Stiles) and I are to be attending PaizoCon as part of the Kobold Press booth with Wolfgang Baur. I want to purchase banquet tickets, but the publisher badges are not on our account yet--I imagine KP hasn't requested yet, or they go on later. At any rate, what can I do to be able to purchase banquet tickets for the two of us? Please let me know. Thanks. ![]()
![]() Me again. :) I have 2 guest 3-day badges in my account. They both say "Kobold Quarterly" as the name. May I have Christina Stiles added above Kobold Quarterly? Not sure how many lines you can have on the badge. The other badge would be for Tracy Stiles for KQ (email: christinalstiles@gmail.com)--I have successfully transferred his banquet ticket I purchased over to him. Additionally, if these are indeed both guest badges from KQ, may I get a refund on the original 3-Day badge I purchased in this order: # 1864995 Placed November 8, 2011? Thanks for your help. ![]()
![]() I know there's been another Open Design thread about our summer Midgard Tales kickstarter project, but I wanted to highlight the fact that we are putting together THIRTEEN awesome Pathfinder adventures. Patrons can even buy in at pitching levels and vie for the opportunity to gain official credit and writing contracts. You can learn the ropes with professional freelancers--two of whom are editors of Kobold Quarterly magazine, I might add, and are always on the lookout for new writers. Few projects offer that kind of opportunity! Most of these adventures in this book will be scenarios suitable to run during a 5-6 hour game night, and they can certainly make great side adventures for much longer stories you may be running. And, of course, if you've supported the Midgard Campaign Setting, you'll want this book as a companion to it, as it opens up stories in the added realms. Finally, the limited edition hardcover will only be available as a kikcstarter tier. It will be softcover from here on out. I'm leading this project (with Wolfgang Baur and Ben McFarland assisting), so feel free to stop by here and ask me questions. We've got three weeks before we kick it into high gear, but we've already had a winning pitch for an NPC legend. We'll be posting that on the Kobold Quarterly blog very soon, so keep an eye out. ![]()
![]() Just wanted to make you guys aware of the post-apocalyptic game Misfit Studios will be publishing based on NYT bestselling author Faith Hunter's Rogue Mage novels. It uses Mutants & Masterminds 2e with tweaks to the magic system and changes to combat (combat is via skills), among a few other changes. You can find the kickstarter here. We are about $500 away from our goal. Here's information on the setting: The year is 2117 on our Earth. One hundred five years ago, the seraphs (angels) rained plagues down upon the world, fulfilling some of the apocalyptic predictions in the Book of Revelations and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Only, the world didn't end as most Christians expected. Instead, five-sixths of Earth's population died in the plagues and resulting wars, and a mini-ice age followed. Yet still mankind has survived -- with some differences. Some children born just after the plagues gained an unusual ability: they could wield leftover creation energies, or "magic," as the common folk called it. These neomages in turn had children, resulting in the half-breed kylen (half seraph) and mules (half human), and mages. Now these races have inherited the Earth. But for how long? Deep within mountains, underneath cities, and in abandoned wastelands, the forces of evil are brewing, building their numbers to continue the age-old war with the Light. These demons and their dragon masters won't stop fighting until the world is theirs. Can the players stop them? Time will tell. Hope you will consider backing us! Christina Stiles
