Looks great! Was a great run and I'm glad I was able to do it with so many characters from my prior run. And I think we all owe our lives to Juxian and his ability to not spontaneously combust due to our tactics.

Chou wastes not even a moment as she rushes over to Juxian, drawing her wand as she goes. He gives him a quick tap, then stows it, ready for the next wave.

Chou watches the beast stagger from the burst of energy and does a quick mental calculation. Satisfied in her ability to evade a blind beast she moves to assist Zarnel. She motions for him to hold for a few moments, then slips across to the hound's flank and pierces it, giving Zarnel an opening for a much more potent strike.

Hearing the sudden shift to a target-rich environment, Chou reaches back into her cloak and yanks on the rip cord to her MuTAGen device.

I can no longer resist the urge. I shall now see if our illustrious GM will allow skill substitutions (even with large penalties) just so I can say I used it!

She quickly stuffs her flasks back into her cheeks, save for a single flask of alchemist's fire.

Chou gathers some spare bits of spent gadgets and sets up a pressure triggers. She winds it to full tension and slots the alchemists fire into it, ready to spray once disturbed.

Attempting to expend 1 flask of alchemist's fire and use Craft (Clockwork) in place of Craft (Traps) to Defend the Site.

Chou contemplates her options. While she has expertly crafted her clockwork gadgets in ways that perfectly replicate many spells, she has no true arcane potential. Although... she's never had any issue faking it 'till she makes it... She empties her cheek pouches, knowing how little mispronounciations can affect the outcome of a spell. After all, the last time she suggested casting a spell to conjure light, she got many a disgusted stare.

I'll avoid the urge to try to shoehorn a Craft (Clockwork) check in here.

"I can help with the ritual. Generally speaking, they are closer to a series of mathematical computations than true arcane study, so I think my expertise should suffice."

She pulls a potion of lesser restoration out of her cheek, then rubs it off with some alcohol. "I'm not quite sure what ails you, but these do work wonders... And if it's a disease that's causing your migraine..." She pulls out an Antiplague to go with it. "This should help buck it."

Chou spits out all of her vials and begins to methodically check through her cheek and gadget pack inventory. As she does so she nods. "I'm sure we can offer this drake a fight. Hopefully that fight is the undead... but if it needs to be us..."[b]

She finishes checking the contents and shrugs. [b]"...so be it."

Looking over at Corona and Juxian she smiles. "I think it would be best if you lead the discussion. I think I tend to rub people the wrong way... but if there is a technical question I'd be happy to chime in."

She stuffs her face with vials, takes another swig of alcohol, spits, then checks each of her straps. "Aw weady to go!"

Since the poison will have run it's course and left Chou paralyzed by the time any caster makes it down the hill, 1 shot restoration will do the trick. As it happens, I have 2 on tap! Might as well use the one that this scenario provides first...

The restoration alone will do it. She'll be paralyzed by the time anyone gets there and at that point, letting the remaining few rounds pass and curing the str damage all at once is the best way to go. If Zarnel is really itching to pay for someone else's healing to check his box, I'm not one to refuse, but I'm quite happy to spend my Blessing of Vildeis and move forward. Same result either way, so I'll post assuming she's back up and we can backfill the details in the discussion thread.

Chou coughs and grins as 575 cracks the shell of the last spider. She considers her present predicament, but then simply smiles and nods. "Adequate outcome. Effective, minimaw conseq-"

She seizes up and collapses with the same smile on her face.

Vildeis... that favor... I think it is a most effective time to redeem that... Either by blessing or her loyal subject's intervention...

After a minute, she simply stands back up, no worse for wear. "Ok! What's next?"

Chou smiles at a plan coming together. "Ok fwiends. Howd the fwontwine!"

She carefully stabs at the spider hulk that she studied, trying to crack the carapace and open it up to a gust of wind. Her footing however, shows a defensive position, making sure to shield Corona and Juxian from needless attacks.

Was she able to activate her wayfinder or did the spiders show up before she deemed everyone 'ready'?

Chou hops out of the canoe and takes stock of her remaining gadgetry. Looking around she ponders the terrain for a bit before whispering. "Wew... I suppose we should set up some ambushes fow wandewing monstews. Get between the twinhowns and the wift."

She slowly crawls into a concealed position with eyes on the rift. She makes sure that her wayfinder is unobstructed and mutters. "First pewson in twouble, make it bwight."

Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

She'll keep an eye out for approaching undead. Once she's ready to engage she'll light up her wayfinder.

Chou flips through her spare bits and looks oddly at her flame-breath mask. With a shrug, she pries it apart and adds it to the rudder fixture. The clockwork mechanism kicks back into gear, this time blowing smoke in the breeze. Heightened awareness has expired, but re-upping jury rig by sacrificing Firebelly.

Apparently, she's too busy tweaking her modifications to pay much attention to the stream ahead...

Jury rig can also repair 1d6 damage to the canoe, but I'm not sure how that would map to 'structure points.' Plus it would cost another gadget.

Chou quickly disassembles her universal translator and uses the pieces to put a small motor on the back of the canoe. "This should hewp you aww paddew bettew!" The Jury Rig ability is unspecified as to how long it takes to use. I think it's a GM call, but generally considered a quick task. Seeing as it takes 1 minute + a standard action to turn a pile of gears into a universal translator (prepare, draw, and activate a comprehend languages gadget), everything and nothing makes sense!

Chou hops into the rear of the canoe, pulls a small visor over her eyes, then gets to work! Activating Heightened Awareness. Note: She'll basically never end it for the initiative bonus.

Knowledge (Nature) + Heightened Awareness + Inspiration: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 2 + (4) = 18

Count me as a firm vote for the boat! If Chou gets to help make a motorboat she's all in!

Also, whether or not Stuffing can actually act as lookout, I still declare Stuffing as our lookout.
