Your sheet is simply amazing. I can not imagine playing Kingmaker without it.

I incorporated fragments of Ultimate Rulership on my campaign, so I am really looking forward to the new version.

Força nisso!

My bed table book pile:

Rereading "The Eye of the World", by R. Jordan and "El Plan Infinito", by Isabel Allende, translated to Portuguese, cause my Castillan sucks...

Reading "Cloud Atlas", D. Mitchell. I am really stuck in the second part of the second period... I have been enjoying the book so far, but that part just lost me...

T. Pratchet's "The World of Poo" is just delicious... And that is just something awkward to say...

Finally, trying to finnish "A Dance with Dragons", by G. R. R. Martin for ages... I really like a song of ice and fire, but this book made me mad on the last chapters... Not going into the spoiler zone, but I think some characters had enough already.... Give them some rest and move on with the story, Martin!...

Oh, and Pathfinder Tales "Skinwalkers" on my tablet.

As a GM I am VERY picky. I play with close friends, in special occasions at home. For a long term campaign I invite players that I know relatively well.

I work in an college. The students association organized a Games Club a few years ago and I am a honorary member. So I usually meet potential players on the Club's events and for my campaigns I invite the players who I feel will fit well in the group.

Of course, I am aware that this is an optimal situation. :)

Edit: I am defining 'critical build' as the critical focus tree. Improved Critical is not a 'critical build' as that is really just a DPR build.

I have to disagree, Gauss...

The average results can be statistically similar (I did not make the math), but from a distribution point of view the two situations have very different behaviors... When you add two dice you get something like a Triangle distribution. But when you add four dice you get something closer to a Gaussian distribution. There is a higher probability of getting more extreme values with 2 dice than with 4...

Of course, the Triangle and Gaussian distributions are Continuous and Dice-rolling produces a Discrete one, but it is the same idea...

I

You are correct if we were comparing 1d12 to 2d6 or 4d3. However, when comparing 1d6 to 1d6 it is the SAME. Across a 15-20/x2 vs a 19-20/x4 you are going to roll (from 15-20) a grand total of 12d6 dice (6*2d6) vs 12d6 dice (4*1d6+2*4d6 = 12d6). While the spikes of x4 are greater (which is the overkill discussion) the actual average DPR is identical. Neither of your distribution statements apply here.

- Gauss

Now, I got you. You are, of course, adding the dice of "regular" damage in order to make both distributions comparable. You are absolutely right!

Got to love a good statistically inclined discussion. :-)

Ok, it is not Italy, but check Lisbon during the Discoveries (1415 - 1550) Very cosmopolitan,multi-cultural, full of misteries and magic - Jews expeled from Castilla, the Order of Christ, Moorish presence, scientific espionage, exploration (and exploitation...) of savage regions of Africa and America...

Sorry, but I could not find a good translation...

The main message is: "For the one(s) I love I will always be there, no matter what, no matter how much time passed since the last time we were together". Later it says: "I forget why we are apart... Please come back with the wind, because I miss you."

It may sound lame, but it is usually my state of mind. I cannot say "no" to a friend, a family member or loved one in need. And the Saudade for the ones that are far away... It is a very Portuguese thing...

Please, check one of the clips. Teresa Salgueiro is simply one of the most beautiful voices in Portugal.

The shipping estimate is 9-36 business days. While we are nearing the end of that, it isn't quite time to worry yet. Packages rarely get truly lost and usually show up either at their destination or end up coming back to us. Sometimes packages fly through like the one shipped Dec 21, and some times they can take a bit longer as this Nov 19 one seems to be doing.

thanks,
Sara Marie

Thank you, Sara.

So, let's wait.

I have a Pathfinder Module subscription... I will get my pdf as soon as my print copy is shipped. And thanks to THE "Pathfinder Path #14 Costumer Delay", and because I asked for a monthly shipment, my October order is still pending. So, buying the pdf is a unreasonable option for me.

In top of that, Paizo is still just accepting pre-orders for the print version of the module. They are not selling the pdf yet. And we are just 10 days away from the H-Night... :)

Well, I believe "Hook Mountain" is too long for me and too gory for my group and I am afraid I will not put my hands on "Hungry are the Dead" in time, but I will check your other suggestions and the forums.

Thank you

Well, I know it's not a Portuguese tradition, but several years ago my RPG group created the "Halloween RPG Night". By that time we played "Vampire, The Masquerade" so it was really easy to create an appropriate adventure for that special night. We were young, non-committed and because 1st of November is a holiday in Portugal we played all night through.

Fast Forwarding to 2000... The GM (that would be me) and the group core decided to reinstall the tradition with DD3E. It worked very well... in the beginning... than everybody got children and the quest for the convenient time to play turned impossible...

Fast Forwarding to 2008. This year, I am trying to exhume the Halloween Game Night (pardon the pun), but I have no time to create myself an adventure from the ground zero... So, I am asking for advises... What DD3.5 module do you recommend? It can be scary, spooky, funny (black humor sort of funny) but it has to be dark... Well, saccharine can be scary too, but that's not what I am looking for...

My players aren't very keen on gore, but are adult, mature, intelligent and open minded. Prefer roleplaying to roll-playing, good laughs to angst ridden plots (been there, done that... 15 years ago) and we don't mind doing cliché because of the laughs and the nostalgia...

As a GM I am looking for a dark, funny, easy to manage adventure for 4, 5 players and playable in just 4 or 5 hours.

I thank you in advance for your suggestions.

My daugther is 4 year old and she loves to play "The Fairy Game".

I do not use de "odd-even" mechanic but a "high-low" so she can understand what is a good roll and a bad one. But I believe she enjoys the game because it is a roleplaying game... with fairies.

IMHO it's a wonderful way of introduting children to RPG.

My very first book was a Portuguese translation of the D&D Red Box. The second was an adventure module, translated to Portuguese... Hill of Terror, or something like that... The world was celebrating Christmas on the year 1989 a.d.

I was on my first college year and my life changed forever... I know it sounds geek, or that I had an epiphany, but the truth is my life would be very different if I had not tumble across RPG on that day.

Curiously, those were the only books I am aware of being translated to Portuguese by a Portuguese company. All other translations were made in Brazil, with their very special Portuguese :)

A big "Bem haja" for Lisa and her crew !

Dungeon 150 and Dragon 359 arrived today at Almada, Portugal. The envelope had a 3,60 £ postal label (or whatever you call that thingy) on it! I don't need advanced calculus to have an idea how much this stunt is costing Paizo... Thank you!

Ho! And a couple of weeks ago I received Pathfinder #1.

Now, only Dungeon 149 is missing... Well, there is no such thing as a perfect world, but tonight, I am happy.

Just a quick question, the envelope was otherwise identical to the previous ones? Save for the missing name.

Ive got a few saved, so i just might head over to the post office with one of the old ones and check out the situation...

Same as for Dragon 358, but different from the ones used for Dungeon 148 and before. They print a return adress on it now however and the printing is black not red.

That's it! That's what I found different about the envelope ! A return adress !

Probably I'm being paranoid, but is it possible that the return adresses and the missing names in the recipient adress are more than just coincidences?...

!?!

I am in Almada, Portugal.

I have received Dragon 358 last week. I can not pinpoint the day it arrived because I was enjoying my vacations :)

I noticed that the envelope did not look like is usually does but I did not check if my name was missing because it had not crossed my mind...

Still no signs of Dungeon 149... (or 150 or Dragon 358 and 359)
