I believe Charon's Staff is to represent the pole used to move his boat slowing along the River Styx.

Metamagicked spells cast by an Arcanist require a full round action like a Sorcerer. The Metamixing exploit doesn't increase the casting time. Therefore Quicken Spell works as usual.
Advanced Class Guide page 9 wrote:
Like a sorcerer, an arcanist can choose to apply any metamagic feats she knows to a prepared spell as she casts it, with the same increase in casting time.

Since an Arcanist can already apply a Metamagic to a spell as she casts it, the purpose of the Metamixing Exploit is doing so without increasing the casting time. Otherwise the Exploit wouldn't do anything.

In this book, are there different racial configurations for the races that have different stats? i.e. dwarves with +INT and/or elves with +WIS?

p212 - Kindred-Raised Half-Elf - +2 Cha and +2 to another stat at the cost of every other Half-Elf Racial ability except for Low-Light Vision.

p212 - Half-Orc with Orc Atavism - +2 Str & -2 to a mental ability score of your choice, plus Ferocity Universal Monster Ability at the cost of Intimidating, being considered a Humanoid (human), and the weaker Orc Ferocity.

p215 - Witchborn Changeling - +2 Int, +2 Cha, -2 Con (i.e., bonus to Intelligence instead of Wisdom to allow for better Changeling Witches).

Chet : Undead are unaffected by things requiring a Fort save. Or did I wrongly understand the problem ?

Yep. That is the problem. The spell lists an affect that Undead receive if they fail a save that they are not allowed to make. I am hoping a designer / editor will explain the intent.

The spell Fleshwarping Swarm (page 220) has an unexpected detail. It functions as per Summon Swarm, but creatures that fail their Fortitude save against the swarm's Distraction ability also take some penalties for an hour per caster level.

The unexpected detail is that this penalty can apply to Undead, which historically do not even have to attempt a Fortitude save against Distraction.

Thoughts?

Algollthu and Othagu...? What's the distinction?

The correct spelling is "alghollthu" and was first revealed in Occult Mysteries, on page 12, where we discuss the veiled masters.

Thanks to both of you for the answer. Now I can sleep easy.

The description of the Omnipath (page 39) starts with the following text:

Quote:
Hidden away in secret lairs, omnipaths serve as information hubs between othagu (aboleths, veiled masters, and other such creatures).

This is the first time I have seen the term "Othagu". Has it been mentioned before?
