Did I miss a post? Where did the "opinions" thing come from? Ceneth outlined a few possible next steps, as he sees them, and wanted buy-in from the group. Where did talking about their lives come from? He wasn't trying to draw people out ... he was trying to get "yeah, that sounds great, let's do that"

So then after everyone is settled, Ceneth can take the message to the shop, and return the next day at noon as Properity indicated in the note ... and in the meantime, hire them a chef because he is still hungry.
Cari Delmire wrote: "Drinking can be pleasant, but I try to avoid it on the job." "You'll let us all know when 'on the job' starts? It for sure is not now ... we are hundreds and hundreds of miles from Sharn. I could fly there myself, I could get out and push, but I have to be honest, I would much rather enjoy the journey." Skyfall looks around for a cocktail shaker ... "Probably just the right person to ask: Spectre, what's your poison? Go sweet or go home? There's an apple liquor from Darguun ... Apple Martini's are all the rage in Sharn AND it's a fad that's even making it's way to Stormreach! Crazy, I know. Goldeneye ... you don't even have to drink it, but can I make you one? Just to hold and look handsome with?"
EltonJ wrote: Okay, so we've stalled in RP. Anyone want to try to get RP going again? Yes -- we have 2 requests to attach the coach to the Lightning Rail; Ceneth's & Prosperity's. Let's do it. Let's get to Sharn. If Cari doesn't drink on the job ... well ... so be it.

Ceneth takes a look at his companions ... and also takes a deep breath "I think it might be my turn for an introduction, possibly even more so if the conversation turns to Sharn. I know I said my name earlier, I am sure I said d'Thuranni with that. But when I said "Assassin of Skyway" that was literal. There simply aren't that many practiced fliers in our line of work, and in Sharn, there is no getting around it. Many believe that are 'safe' the higher they go, and in principle, that can be true. So I trained around that. It isn't simply that I have flying magic ... I fuse with the Spirit Avariel. I can always fly. There are times, before they died, targets thought they could dispel my flight; they can't. Once I found we could jump across long distances, I made sure I practiced enough to cast the same spell magically. So like our telescope on a smaller scale, I do not even have to get all that close to my target before teleporting to them. My spells focus mainly on keeping my eidolon healthy. We are incredibly strong, incredibly fast, and on top of that I frequently use Alter Self to seem different, or more pleasing, to disguise myself. and yes, I have worked for many many years as a coutesan in Stormreach. Both the serve myself AND to serve my House. I love my work."

"Loving the numbers ... maybe pronouns would work for you? Does anyone else besides the team know that Zoa identifies as 'she' because, with love, most of us couldn't tell by looking. Test #1 could be calling her 'him'. Similarly, Test #2, if any of us were to address you using a gender-based pronoun, and you didn't correct us, I would be willing to grab you, fly you up 100 feet, and drop you on your head."
Prosperity Jann wrote:
So wait, can Zoa take a scent also, like a police dog sorta? If you let them sniff the blood, would that give them a bonus to perception? Just kinda wondered, I know they aren't a dog, but still.
"GQ! When did the King order you to grow a sense of humour? Wow ..."That said, Ceneth smiles and nods his head rather deferentially " 'Skyfall' ... I would say that 'you just can't make this stuff up' yet, someone did." GQ raises an eyebrow and gives just a touch of side-eye to the elf "Well it's a new group, I wasn't sure they could handle Skyfall-69 ... or that much wit from the boss." Ceneth is clearly impressed AND amused

Yeah ... I'm from CA, I totally get how fires work. Was this a linguistics issue? Semantics?I said torch, a few hundred square feet. Torch, the verb, not the noun. I thought GM was pretty clear about the whole, theme and coolness thing. Of course they would use an accelerant. Of course it would be big and loud and flashy. I feel like I missed a memo or watched the wrong movies.
Not sure what this was about.
Cari Delmire wrote: "Or more likely, he'll run away while we waste time with petty arson. Lighting things on fire is not the solution to all our problems. She sighs. "Also, not that it matters, but grape vines are natural fire stops. They burn very slowly, if at all."She turns back to GQ. "I, at least, assume I was brought in to handle this with stealth."
"Hadn't planned for it to be petty, or natural for that matter. Vines are NATURAL fire stops, for sure. I wasn't proposing a natural fire at all." "The point is to get the attention of our quarry, which we can do any way the team wants to really. But the principle of threatening something someone values to get their attention and to motivate them stands. If there is a better suggestion, I would probably listen to it. As yet, there isn't. The vineyard remains our best & most logical lead." "and I never said we couldn't do recon, and I never said we couldn't 'sneak' and I never said we couldn't avail ourselves of other information prior to 'sending a message' either. I'm not sure where that assumption came from. LOL haven't done a lot of hunting? Running away is precisely what we want. We want him to feel unsafe, we want him to make bad decisions ... because right now, he's had 7 days to fortify himself, and yet we're still here discussing that you thought I wanted to throw torches in a field and wait for the wind to blow." "GQ brought ALL OF US here for our talents ... stealth was probably ONE of those. Is it okay with you that GQ makes a few decisions? The King seems to think so."
"To be perfectly honest, I am focused on 2 things right now: my drink and my codename. After those are sorted, and Team PZ finishes their divinations, I think we head out to the vineyard." "Wine sounds really good right now actually ..." "The reality is this: either Monsieur Grande expects everything to go to hell, OR, he thinks there are things that won't. We can make sure he knows it all will. The odds are, he thinks there are boundaries. So If we show up and torch a few hundred square feet of pinot, just as an introduction, it's pretty likely someone will say something. THEN we can actually introduce ourselves!"
Lambda-42 wrote: Lambda-42 glances between the organics as they bandy questions. The conversation bores it a bit. What was there to discuss? What reasons for motivation were necessary? The King called, and those loyal to him should answer. Of course, organics must have food, clothes, and a place to sleep, all of which must be bought. I suppose they must be given coin as compensation for their time, even when serving the king. I am pleased not to have such limiting needs. And better things to spend my coins on. "Perhaps refreshments for those who need them, while we wait?" the warforged says, finally. "Cool name AND you're a visionary! Can't beat that; I've wanted a drink since I walked in here. Will you join us L42? I know you don't need to ..."
"Here's a little secret I can share with you, as a flier: 'UP' is almost never considered when security is put in place. It's almost always the best escape route." "Anyone like Pinot Noir ... ?" Ceneth takes off the glasses he has been wearing; the glowing runes in the irises of his eyes were as beautiful as they were unnerving "We could certainly make him do the work for us."

I need to get back to Ardev. There are people there who need my help. Let's just get this over with." "Hi, my name is Ceneth ... Ceneth d'Thuranni. Pleasure to meet you miss. Ceneth Tialaen d'Thuranni - Assassin of Skyway, Courtesan of Shadow Ceneth is a Synthesist, who made a name for himself once he transfigured his fused eidolon to allow him to fly. Based in Sharn for years, he was focused like many on flight magic, but found a radically different path to the sky when he called on the primal power of elven flight, Avariel, and found that the magic joined to him. The relative safety provided by the floating island of Skyway was shattered, and the rogue house Thuranni gained a foothold it needed during the Last War. Flying faster and faster as he refined Avariel’s evolutions, he offered additional "services" to his house. There were no other flying courtesans; there were no others who could come & go as discreetly as Ceneth anywhere. There wasn't any other member of the House who could simply fly to Stormreach on a moment's notice without an airship ... and there wasn't anyone whose magic made them as "strong & agile" as Ceneth either. Alter Self allowed for quite a palette of “service alternatives” too. Ceneth dreams of greater and greater service to his Family: he wonders if he can push himself to manifest a Dragonmark one day. Suitor: “What would you say is your language of love?”
Crunh will be built out into profile ASAP.
