Lazarus, are you trying to be a Mystic Theurge? I'm trying with my Samsaran, but the early game is rough.

Thanks for the game, GM. The chronicles look good to me. One of these days Corona is going to make that saving throw and not lose the charms.

I typed up the boon- maybe you'll find a good use for it.

I did this game in CORE. We didn't drink from the fountain and we had the discs in the wrong order. 3 of us wound up grappled while the 4th PC ran around unimpeded. The Xarcaba can't make AoEs if all of its limbs are busy grappling!

"We are alive." Corona pants. "And the demon is sealed again." She looks at the mural. "Cyclops left us the means to defeat the beast. We must report to the Pathfinder Society of our findings. And you, Juliet, must come with us. You friends miss you."

"Arletta, thank you for your help. We would have wandered aimlessly without your guidance."

Corona seems distracted briefly, but she shakes it off.

Corona uses the last of her holy energy to heal everyone. She pulls out her wand of Cure Light Wounds.

"Gods, why must you punish me so?"

Corona is glad to be alive. The tail coils releases her and she quickly double moves to avoid more attacks.

Sorry, I'm at 2 HP. I gotta move out of attack range.

"Nigel, can you cover Giovanni in grease as he approaches?"

On the plus side if all of us are grappled, Giovanni has free reign to carry the discs around.

Oh, that's bad. I'm at 2 HP then. Not much I can do here. Good luck, team.

Oh no, it won't destroy ALL of you. It will enslave one of you and then infiltrate the Pathfinder Society. After killing everyone else at this site-

If she manages to escape, Corona will perform one last channel.

Corona is caught off guard and is slapped in the face before she can react. But the fountain's blessings protect her.

I assume I dispelled Heightened Awareness to get the +4 to initiative.

The voice inside her head tries to speak, only for Corona to call QUIET!

"Do you remember the necklace we found? It was an Aegis of Recovery. If Tabris is willing to distract the beast, then he should wear it."

Corona realizes she will have to face the beast closely. "I will try to channel as we receive injury. Sarenrae help Giovanni!"

With the blessings of her god, Corona heals her wounds as well as Giovanni and Tabris.

Well at least I got to burn off a bad roll.
"Liar liar, pants on fire!" "Corona" giggles before regaining her composure.

"Please, Christina." Corona bows to the eidolon. "Time may be of the essence. Besides, you won't be doing a lot of combat if this goes well- we just want you to place the discs in the right indentations."

*gulp* We're better prepared than the time I played this in Core, that's for sure.

"Christina can climb walls innately? Her speed and agility would be very useful, Nigel." Corona thanks the gnome for the idea.

Corona hands Giovanni the wand of Bull's Strength. "We are as prepared as we can be. We must focus on retrieving and replacing the discs."

"I cannot estimate when that wall will fall. I will be ready to help Tabris once the door is smashed."

Meanwhile, she helps Giovanni up. "Which disc are you placing first? And where are you placing it?"

"A wand of Bull's Strength. About 16 uses remaining." Corona watches the thing pummel the doors. "Whatever is behind that door... I will try to apply it to anyone who desires it."

I'm not sure about the timing on this door breaking down, but I'd love to buff someone before it breaks.

"This is much heavier than I anticipated..." Corona can barely hold the disc. "If these discs do trigger the weapon Giovanni conjectures, maybe we need to fit them into the indentations. But which one goes where?"

Corona enters the large room cautiously, watching the behemoth clobber the door. She turns back and rereads the inscription.

"There's some sort of creature here, inside that central chamber. I think it's trapped there. It has everyone under it's sway, and it's convinced them that it's some sort of protector, calling itself the 'Starwatcher Spirit'. It had ahold of me, too, until bumped into that sphere up there."

I've been protecting this." She opens her satchel to reveal a solid stone disc, about seven inches in radius and one inch thick, that glows with a light similar to a light spell. "We've already put two in, one with a fainter, purplish glow, and one that was as bright as the sun. I don't know what it wants with them, but I'm terrified what will happen when that stupid iron brute breaks down the door in there."

"The MOON set within the VOID reflects the SUN but does not obscure the STARS."

"Perhaps these discs provide a clue?" Corona pulls out her disc and inspects the design upon it.

"We have fought several multi-headed, serpentine beasts on our way here. With Tabris's vision..." Corona ponders. "Perhaps these serpents are awaiting the return of their master. Someone should wear the mask, someone should wield the flail and someone should collect the other disc. Someone who can see it."

I don't have remove blindness yet, sorry.

"We have explored this entire site, yes? Everything except what's behind that door. Let us hope these discs are important."

If we get into a battle while Heightened Awareness is in effect, I will dismiss it for a +4 Initiative bonus.

"Whatever happened to the haunt, it is gone for now. I detect no immediate malice." She keeps her vision fixed ahead.

You know, if you'd let me out for a bit I could see for the both of us.

"Tabris, did you see anything before it struck?"

"If someone can guide me inside, I will channel to keep the haunt at bay." If someone can get Corona within 30 feet of the haunt, she will channel, healing 1d6 ⇒ 2 hitpoints.

"Someone should get that disc, quickly."

None of us claimed the disc but we can say Corona held onto it.

"Unfortunately I tried already. If we could wait until tomorrow I could attempt-" Corona halts as another loud clang reverberates through the site. "But in less than an hour we have more pressing matters, yes?"

I got a 9 on my spellcraft check. so I won't be able to understand much from it until I can retry the next day.

"Ah, another disc? Excellent." Corona is ready to cast Detect Magic as soon as Tabris fetches it.

She reaches the door and searches it for secrets before opening it...

"Corona" realizes the fight is mostly over just as she lines up the perfect shot. "Booo! Hmpf. I'm bored."

At that point Corona spasms and is back to her calm demeanor. "Is everyone alright? Giovanni, you're bleeding profusely." She raises the symbol of Sarenrae and channels a couple of times.

She takes his wand and applies it immediately.

A couple of charges later, Corona returns Giovanni's wand. "Here you are. I can handle the immediate wounds, but I am not able to help with the poison."

"I have no idea what this flail is. With a name like Slitherbane I can hazard a guess. We should hold onto it for now."

"Finish this off with FIRE!" Corona giggles before unleashing another fire bolt.

"I can't sew your wounds shut from back there, silly!" Strangely jubilant, Corona sticks her grey tongue at Giovanni and prances behind Tabris.

She quickly converts one of her clerical blessings into Cure Light Wounds to heal the dhampir.

Corona finishes casting Enlarge Person and directs it upon Tabris. "Now go and crush all in your way!" She giggles uncontrollably, a radical change in demeanor from her usual self.

"Burn! Burn!" Corona aims carefully at the Green-tinted creature trying to bite Geode. A bolt of flame leaps forward at it.

Fire Bolt, Sickened, In Melee: 1d20 + 2 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 2 - 2 - 4 = 1

The flame is nowhere close to its target, but that seems to excite her further.

"Amphisbaena. Two headed creatures. Be careful if you wield slashing weapons- a critical hit may split in half. I know about its Special Attacks, just one moment."

She begins casting Enlarge Person. "Tabris, may I enlarge you? Or would anyone else like to grow?"

This spell takes 1 entire round to cast.

It's good to hear you are alright, Nigel. The games here are the least of your concern!

Corona takes the mask. "Someone should wear this, it will protect you against the creatures Giovanni mentioned." She leaves the room and moves east. "Shall we try this room next?"

As she drinks the water, she feels the silver charms burn up.

Corona reflexively tears off the silver charms, smashing them against the floor.

"Dammit, why doesn't this work?" She growls, frustrated.

After a moment she regains her composure. "...Let us move on."

GM: I left a note for you on the discussion thread. Due to a boon I took, I'm permanently sickened until I make a DC 20 Fort or Will Save. You get to ask me when to make the roll.

"You should feel enhanced for a day or so, 24 hours."

Corona investigates the fountain very carefully when Tabris mentions an aura.

Her Investigative Mind magic wears off as she recalls its essence. "This water emits a strong abjuration aura. These kinds of auras are very protective in nature. I wonder if it emits a spell like effect?"

"Anyone who drinks this will become very difficult to grapple or tie up. This may become useful in the future." Corona drinks from the fountain.

"The water is quite refreshing. It will help you escape if you are ever restrained."

Woohoo, I finally beat those DCs!

"I have no divinations that will help." Corona feels ashamed. "We have more rooms to explore, here. Let us try the first one on the east here, after you finish testing the fountain."

"Ah, that is relaxing." Corona for once, hears only her thoughts. At least for a few minutes.

"What's our next step, then? Once the construct destroys that door it will fight this... Starwatcher Spirit. I saw we continue searching- perhaps we will find clues to how it was imprisoned."

"A palette cleanser for my mind?" Corona is draw curiously to it. Even with the voice in her head telling her it's a bad idea.

"So many mysteries to solve." Corona is rather excited, even if she has nothing useful to say.

"There is a part of your mind that knows your body is under control but it is unable to react." Corona reflects on Arletta's words. The thing inside of me may take over one day, if I'm not careful. The silver charms irritate her skin.

"We are fortunate you have regained control. Had you told us to find the tablets for this spirit we would have gladly helped. It seems like we need to find as many as we can. Do you know how many there are? With the one you hold and the two others..."

"Snakes? I bear them no ill will. But a snake and... a thing with multiple snake like heads did try to kill us. They almost killed Giovanni."

I assumed she was physically ill, but perhaps they meant her mental capabilities. Why were they so calm about it, though?

"Something has upset you. Please, explain. We didn't spend weeks traveling out here just to attack you."

"We have come from the Pathfinder Society. The other researchers said you were sick. What is going on, here?"

"If trouble will erupt soon, we should warn the archeologists to seek shelter." Corona takes a look. "They need to move Arletta somewhere safe if she is sick."

As they begin the investigation, Corona prepares herself and casts Heightened Awareness as well as Investigative Mind.

"Let's check on Arletta first, and then find the monolith." She looks at the researchers. "They seem so... calm about it."

"Aya Allahe mentioned your monthly report was overdue. She wished for you to leave with us and meet her directly." Corona pauses. "But first, I will see what I can do about Arletta."

"...I do have a wand of Cure Light Wounds..." Corona steps back as Tabris uses the vile instrument.

You should use that more often. Just slay a few demons who aren't me, and sprinkle their blood everywhere.

Giovanni pulls out his own wand of Cure Light Wounds. She is glad to offer her help. "I am a fledgling follower of Sarenrae. She has gifted me with the ability to heal you using this wand."

I'll work on the burnination, then. Hopefully fire is good enough to keep it down.
