"Did he leave any idea of where he stayed or what he needed the sword for? It just seems rather odd do you not feel?" She seems to be distasteful of the treatment of the slave, but men did treat slaves different from women. Each had their own place in the order of the world after all. She took her time to look over everything, trying to figure out if any of it could be noticed from a distance incase they passed their thief on the street.
" So a very well trained smith made a blade blessed... And our friend who hired us is just an ordinary man? I feel we have walked into something the gods have decreed to happen. But they did bless the making as well. I wonder who this man truly is. Come, tell us how many smiths cold do this, and we can ask them if any has snooped around them."
Castisa would study the bridge some, a clear love of fine craftmanship evident as she runs a hand over it with a loving manner. It seems even a sailor can appreicate finer things in life with enough time to stop and see them. " What crafting. If only one had such skill, they could live forever among the gods as a great builder, artist, thinker! Imagine how much one must have thought about planning this out, and then doing so!"
Castisa looks over the sword, but it is very clearly by her handling she is not used to using one, rather she tries to balance it like a spear, and fails to. " What an ungainly weapon. Spears are much more refined, and they keep people further from you. I wonder what the thief thought to gain from this event? Just quick gold? Let us depart to the temple, and bring this man to justice." She would then give the sword back, and follow the menfolk out afterwards. She seemed to not mind in the least to follow behind them a bit.
"My companions speak truly. We are a city built on the ideals of all being equal regardless of their heritage. I have heard many places disparage our orcish sailors for their ancestry, so I have no doubt the thief merely thought you to be stupid brutes, not equals who are well raised statesmen. We will bring him to justice." While speaking Castisa makes no move to fill out the forms, having no idea how the diplomats would take a woman filling them out, given she knew some orcs did have a more traditional manner of approach. " I do enquire however, what do you know of the thief? Any information you can give will be good."
Castisa looks over the document, having stayed quiet for a spell until finally her curiosity struck her, and she just had to ask " I must ask, what exactly was the issue with the old man doing this? I do not question the word of an esteemed male such as yourself, but this seems much easier than normal. How long generally is the wait? I feel we missed something, do you need assistance with something as well?"
Castisa stays quiet for the moment, unsure how the orc would approach a female talking. She knew certain other cultures required the men to speak only, and yet others required they speak first. Unless it seemed things would go south, she would just simply be a nice accompaniment for the moment. No need to give they each had a stake here in the task.
Castisa bows her head respectfully to the Orc, giving him proper respect as not only a male, but also as a visiting guest to their city. " Greetings Talun, I am Castisa, daughter of the waves, and a sailor by trade. I come today to show honor to our two peoples concerning an issue that seems to have occured, may we discuss this?"
Castisa keeps her hands clearly visible, and goes ahead with the other two, clearly unafraid of the danger they may be walking into. But she had a strong feeling that this would not be a harmful mission at this venture, given the orcs did wish to maintain peace, and they had no issue really with them. " Remember, they are a victim here as well, receiving goods stolen from another without their knowledge. We should remain polite and courteous." She informs the other two.
Castisa will walk up to the guards, her unarmed appearance no different from many of the other warriors who would be here. She speaks to the first one, requesting " We have had an incident between the people's it seems. A thief has wronged one of the humans here, and they believe one of your people now hold the stolen goods. May we speak to someone concerning this?"
" It is much better than what we do have. We shall proceed to the last place you knew of the sword, and perhaps one of these people we shall see? come now, let us gather and go." Castisa would then stand up and brush out her chiton, making sure she looked like a properly respectable woman of her standing. Which wasn't that much, but better to be respected than one of those streetwalkers she is warned of.
"I can not disagree with him however. How does one lose a blessed sword from a Goddess? That sounds either like a curse, in which the gods have placed, or carelessness. But you also do not seem careless, so give us some information on how it was stolen, and how the orcs have it. Perhaps like civilized people they can be bargained with." Castisa tries to sooth the older mans worries with her words, seeking information on what all has happened
" Runners may be one of the most important parts of a battle. Not everyone is able to talk to each other without words. Though I am sure our Generals can, it would be hard for the normals to do so. Though as being some great lady, I am simply the daughter of a shipping merchant. It is a good life, and quiet. Though the seas are often more fun I would say, than a battlefield. Tell me, have either of you been on one?" Castisa queries into her companions lives, curious about how the others chose to live their lives.
Castisa smiles at Leonidas as he came and sat with her, greeting him as appropriate for their different placements within the city, as he was more a guardian while she was more a merchant. " Training never stops. Even the seas give training when not on them." The words seemed rote, as if from memory and training itself. " Besides, is not your goal in life perfection anyways? Why live as long as we do and not perfect the gifts you have?" As they chatted, a new person came up, or rather a familiar face, but no name. She had never spoken to him, and introduces herself as well. " I am Castisa Yapione. As much as you both run, I would imagine it is too the walls, not away? They are the only things that should have cracks, otherwise we may sink into the waters and never surface."
Castisa comes into the tavern, greeting any of the other sailors she may encounter, asking about different shipping routes. It was basic behavior for her kind, a bit detached from the normal citizens given her races history of not quiet aloofness but rather controlled emotions. She does seem to acknowledge both Tiasis and Leonidas, sitting at an empty table and ordering a water and a shade of pita and olives for the table. She was passingly familiar with both men given her long walk from home into this part of the city proper.
Castisa starts her day differently, at least that is what she tells herself. In truth when not sailing and caring for the ship, she was out at her family home, doing upkeep with the elders who no longer sailed. Given the past she had with the rebellion, what felt like so long ago, she would often stare out and wonder what could have been. The sea called to her like all of her people, but the time spent had shaped her often, resulting in arguments with other family members about different topics, though always respectful given her father's standing within the Maenad community. She would dress in a simple light blue chiton, tying her hair back with the hairpin her mother gave her after her first successful voyage and return, and would travel from the family home in to the city. She would note that some of the guards and other were already up and running as she strolled in, her walk long enough to have been passed by Tiasis often enough they knew each other from sight, if not speaking.
Nothing wrong with hashing out and figuring out the backgrounds and stuff before going forward, it is why we discuss things. You still have the chance to ask questions and change things, it isn't yet an in character fact yet. Yet anyways. Lol I did also wonder on the elan as well, but figured I wanna be a sailor
