Thanks. I stand by the fact that the Paizo site doesn't do it's job well. Had a friend straight up tell me they were going to look into playing PFS but the site was too big of a confusing mess to figure out.

Anyway, this is about memes. I still can't share memes.

I honestly don't know that there is such a thing.

RPGs are social games, but they're usually played by small groups and cross-pollination is relatively slow as groups turn over. That's different from something like a multiplayer video game.

Worse, the overwhelming majority of joke/meme moments will be caused by the random things that happen at an individual gaming table. I can say "everybody but" at my table and get great guffaws but to literally anyone else, it means nothing. I can get laughs with "okay", if it's said right, but again, you had to be there. Both of these were consequences of roleplaying that happened here, inspired by our players. The best moments are.

Point is, the setting-universal "haha, something funny about Calistria" type memes/jokes will be incredibly overshadowed by the comedic material we all produce ourselves.

Probably about the closest thing to what I think you're seeking would be to read some game journals people post.

There are a lot of jokes that can be made with just the universal canon. I would share some if I could, but again, the only place to do so is a forum less sophisticated than Neopets had in the early 2000s. I love Paizo but as far as encouraging an active social community of players online, it is easy to see that the investment is not there right now.

I am determined that things can't stay this way so I am trying to get more active on here, even though it hurts my poor heart. I can't even bold things on here, much less post my latest Pathfinder edition of the Drake meme featuring Rogue vs Unchained Rogue.

I start with one simple question:

"How can I hurt the GM emotionally more than they can hurt me?"

Silver Crusade

Pathfinder is such a weird thing to be really into because a huge number of the people who play aren't in the 'fandom'. You don't get too many universal jokes and the such, in fact, usually when you make a quick meme it is only ever going to be seen by the rest of your party or lodge.

The only real gathering place for huge Pathfinder nerds is here, and the forums don't support images (from what I've seen?) So how do I get all of the good goofs that I crave? What sites have more activity for this sort of thing?

Silver Crusade

I love playing my Haunted Oracle because every time my curse comes up it is ALWAYS hilarious.

I also have a blast playing an archer Paladin though. It is always fun trying to think of convoluted ways something could be considered lawful (if you squint.)

Visualize a sensible adult sitting alone in their home. Now imagine that same adult chanting "THURSTY!" *clap clap clap* "THURSTY!" *clap clap clap*

I don't know what brought this on, but the hype is undeniably real. I trust this man to destroy both me and my characters.

Actually, S.W.A.T. (a cop-themed group out of Minnesota) all chose halfling to be their secret language so that they can all communicate with one another without enemies knowing what they are saying!

Hmm

Since Halfling is a tonal language (like Chinese in the real world) that softens r's to w's and k's to g's, people speaking Halfling always sound Teddy Ruxpin adorable, even if they're barking out military orders.

That's my story, anyway, and I'm sticking to it.

I've always thought of Halfling to be like Welsh, the Welsh name Dafydd (pronounced Daveth) is what I named my Halfling paladin

My girlfriend feels the same way about sphinx. Takes it on every character but has never gotten to use it

At least that makes a little more sense though, sphinxes being all mysterious and all. Halfling is a core race, as iconic as Gnomes, Half Orcs, Dwarves, and Elves! I haven't been playing PFS for a very long time but I am still shocked at the fact I have yet to meet a single Halfling NPC and/or enemy.

Silver Crusade

Every game I look at my Halfling Paladin's languages of Common and Halfling and go "one day this will be useful" as the rest of the players laugh. My local Venture Captain said he remembers only one time it ever came up, and he's played almost everything.

I have managed to make it a role-play thing though, my Paladin hiding his bad cussing habit using Halfling to do so instead of Common (he behaves like a bible camp councillor otherwise.)

Anyone else suffer from this feeling of frustration?

A mixed list of thoughts:

- Make the villain hot
- Make the villain out to be a friend first, this is even better when they are hot because one of the players might think they have a chance
- Make the villain the hero of their own story. Nothing hurts more than knowing that the enemy is doing what they believe is right, and if things were only a bit different the players and them could have been friends.
- Plan out ahead of time for their story to continue after they have died. Have the villain say or do something that seems unimportant and then have the players learn there was more to it only after the point of no return.
- Give them a completely normal and relatable trait. A hobby, a kid that they love, and throw in an insecurity or two while you're at it.
- Create your villain with your favourite players in mind. What tropes are they suckers for? What movie made them cry like a baby? Take that pain and make it a character.

The Good Bra.

It's spoken of in whispers, a relic so ancient and so powerful that most discussion regarding it is hushed. There is nothing more terrifying than imagining the sheer power of The Good Bra than the idea that it might not be real at all.

The Good Bra fits it's wearer like a glove, and will change their chest to the size they desire, functioning even as a binder for those who need one.

The Good Bra will never cut into you, it will never hurt your back, and when you run it will never hurt as long as you are wearing The Good Bra.

The Good Bra also functions as a Bra of Holding, because we all know the fabled Pants With Pockets are cursed and should never be worn.

This faction isn't my jam, but I know it will tickle the fancy of many others so I am exited to see it around!

Sorry for putting this in the wrong place, I'm still trying to figure out how to navigate the site as a whole.

Thank you again!

I played my first round of Pathfinder Society and want to set up my account on here, but the create character link on the Pathfinder Society page is broken. I tried approaching the page via the main page sidebar and through my own account settings, but they just takes me to the main Pathfinder Society page.

I could really use some help, please and thank you!
