For example, a character has their shield raised during combat. The character is struck by an invisible attacker. Can the character use the Shield Block reaction?

Trap Finder rogue feat - The portion that reads "you can disable ranks as though you had a proficiency rank of master in Thievery." Does this include the bonus to the Thievery check, or does this only mean that you can disable traps that require Expert or Mastery proficiency to disable?

Hello! I'm not sure my emails have been received; I imagine you all are keeping busy.

I've sent pictures of my Starfinder book; the text block is separated from the headband (and pulling away from the end paper on one end).

The second is that I seem to be missing scenarios from my Pathfinder subscription- everything after 8-23 isn't showing up in My Downloads. My Starfinder scenarios did appear in My Downloads, but no sign of Pathfinder. I have paid for them as part of the subscription, but even when I visit the individual scenario page it doesn't show that they've been purchased.

Thanks!

Looks like Starfinder 1-00 tickets sold out just about instantly. For those of us who didn't make it, what options might we have to play it outside of Gencon?

Silver Crusade

Congratulations, everyone! ^_^ The costumes look wonderful.

Additional Resources lists heritages from People of the North on page 20-21 as available for society play. However, I don't see any heritages on those pages- am I getting page numbers wrong or just otherwise not seeing them?

Thanks!

I was using Hero Lab with Pathfinder Society restrictions and I noticed that the whimsy subdomain (Blood of Angels) wasn't selectable by any clerics using those restrictions as far as I could tell, nor could I find any who explicitly have it listed as a subdomain. Am I missing any? Are there any deities who have whimsy as a subdomain?

For the Pirate of the Inner Sea prestige class, James Jacobs has stated that the class should have a d8 hit die in the product thread.

While text generally overrides tables, in this situation it safe to assume that the advancement table for when you get a Pirate Talent is correct, rather than the text description on page 24?

Well, now that the semi-controversy has died down (:P), what do you all think? I've only skimmed the book, but pretty pleased with what I've read. I'm a bit surprised it's so focused on heroic tier, and that's my only concern so far. I enjoy the (sometimes passing) appearance of Realms iconics and Realms organizations, old and new. I think the new character themes are really well done, and I like the options for variant races. And the new gish looks like it could be quite fun. ^_^ Lots of good stuff for DMs as well.

According to the Inner Sea World Guide, Sirian Alodri made his immediate pupils change their name to Aldori. I've seen reference to one NPC using the Aldori name in the NPC Guide, and one swordlord in Mivon who does not use the name. Do people still take the Aldori name? Is it hereditary or titular, both or neither?

I thought I'd understood how the fortune hex worked, but after seeing some discussion realize that other people have different and reasonable interpretations.

So, say in a given round Witch A uses the Fortune Hex on Fighter B.

What happens then?

Hey, everyone! A friend of mine has agreed to run some PFS adventures for our group (yay, I get to play). We've got varying levels of experience with 3.5/PF, and only a couple of us have done any sort of organized play.

So, here's my question: we're all completely new to PFS and don't have a good sense of the meta-plot or existing adventures. Which adventure do you all think would be best to start with? It's a home PFS game, so time isn't really an issue. We plan to start in June.

Thank you very much!

I'm curious- what do you all think of the new book?

It's an interesting mix of support for Essentials classes and older classes, with the new classes being written up more in Essentials style, in my mind. As far as a product, I like it- even the Vampire class, which I hadn't expected to. So far, Dark Sun has been my favorite supplement, but this book is up there, for me.

A 4E game that I'd been running recently ended due to a couple of the players having some major life events (new baby/move, new job). We recruited a new fifth player, and since it's going to be a brand new game I suggested we try Pathfinder; everyone was very receptive to the idea, and we've all been excited about getting started. All of us are new to the PF system.

I pointed the players to the Adventure Path page and had them discuss which ones they thought sounded interesting. It was a tough decision, and I'm not sure that any individual's top option was selected, but everyone seemed enthusiastic about elements of the Serpent's Skull Adventure Path.

The players have very different levels of experience with PnP RPGs, so our first session this past Saturday was all about character creation. Well, it started with a cookie and cookie recipe exchange- and I highly endorse such a tasty beginning ;)- but for the most part we went through the process of creating characters.

Our castaways...

Qyandri has played many game systems, including 2E-4E. She will be playing a female drow oracle. Her curse is Tongues; she plans to speak Japanese while combat is going on.

Meltice has played many game systems, including 2E-4E. She will be playing a female half-elf alchemist. Her initial concept was a bard, but she liked the idea of juggling bombs so much that she switched over during the character creation session. ^^;

Letha has played 4E. She will be playing a female halfling rogue (burglar). She likes to steal during combat. And steal out of combat. And in-between.

Amocin has played many game systems (mostly White Wolf), and my earlier 4E game. She will be playing a male aasamir paladin. She thinks there needs to be some sort of masculine presence in the party. =P

Metalellie is our new player, and has played 4E. She will be playing a female dwarf ranger (two-weapon fighter). She's done the most PF background reading at this point, and has started on an interesting background involving working as a bodyguard in Cheliax.

Allowed books are pretty much all Paizo Pathfinder books, the Freeport Companion, and the Super Genius Games materials that we have. Much gratitude for the Inner Sea Primer; it helped a great deal.

We're a bit weak on healing at the moment- the oracle isn't a healer- so we'll see how that goes. I'm considering the creation of a lazy NPC to help out in that area. =P

We'll be embarking after the holidays!

Does anyone have any thoughts about how easy or difficult it might be to add Freeport as a location in this AP? Not for questing, necessarily, but as a reachable area.

Thanks!

Hey, everyone. I'm gearing up to run a game for the first time in a long time, and I'm going to be running a Pathfinder game starting next month. I am quite regretful that I didn't come to Pathfinder sooner. So, my question is, what should my book acquisition priority be? I like the convenience of the pdfs, but right now I'm more interest in print.

I've had (but hadn't had a chance to use) the Pathfinder Core Rulebook since it came out. I've recently picked up the Campaign Setting (hasn't arrived yet), the Bestiary, Gamemaster's Guide, the Serpent's Skull modules, and at the suggestion in the Serpent's Skull Player's Guide, the Armory and the Sargava books.

Would it be more beneficial to start with the Pathfinder Campaign Setting line or the Pathfinder Companion line? I'm probably more interested in giving my players more character options, so I *think* the Companion line might be the way to start, but I'm not certain. Is there anything that is a must-by for people starting out in the game?

I'm probably going to start picking up the older APs, but I can't justify the out of print purchase cost for Rise of the Runelords to myself just yet. But I'm keeping an eye the auctions and marketplaces. ^^;

Thanks.

I was wondering, has anyone attempted to use any of the Arcana Evolved races in Pathfinder? I have a couple of players who have expressed an interest, and really has her heart set on it. I was wondering if people have made many modifications or dropped them in.

Thanks!

I'm familiar with Paizo mainly from Dungeon and Dragon, but I don't know very much about Pathfinder. I noticed the RPG Superstar contest and today's announcement on ENWorld, and it seems interesting enough to check out. Looking at prouducts, I see adventures, modules, chronicles, subscriptions.... so where does one start? ^_^

Thanks.
