6th Annual GenCon Costume Contest Winners

Thursday, September 19, 2013

The winners of this years Costume Contest have been tallied, with the fate of this years contest coming down to a matter of only a few votes between the top three contestants. Without further ado, I present this years top 3 rankings.

Temmith & Jay ranked in first place. Jay's work is golden while Temmith's costume looks good enough that one may question if sorcery was involved.

Seoni & Valeros (Temmith & Jay)

MetalMaiden ranked 2nd in the polls, doing a godly job of portraying Shelyn.

Shelyn (MetalMaiden)

Helene ranked in 3rd as Sheila Heidmarch. Her costume came out wonderfully, and I can only venture a guess as to how much time she spent on it.

Shiela Heidmarch (Helene)

Congratulations to Temmith and Jay on their $50.00 in Paizo Store Credit, and to everyone else thank you for dropping by the booth. Regardless to if you were in a costume or just your GenCon finest we loved seeing everyone!

Unless your manager is known to have an affinity for bad puns and you happen to have a review coming up :D

There's a reason they don't let me post on the message boards much, note that Cosmo was the one that trained me when I joined Paizo.

Great job on the costumes this year everyone, feel free to send us pictures at cosplay@paizo.com if you ever do any photoshoots. :)

Well done the victors - and well done everybody who participated!

Can you be my manager? I think Wes is keeping tabs on all my bad puns, and not for commendation at year's end.

Is he going to be applying the Pun Tax? I had one of those for my old gaming group. It went to pizza and beer.

...Are you going to be buying pizza and beer for the office, Mark? I hear you used to do that sort of thing. :P

Congratulations folks!

Congratulations!
As a fellow cosplayer, well done on all on costumes, all of you.

Congratulations, those costumes look outstanding! And I see we can blame Cosmo for the puns...

:) Glad that everybody enjoyed the costumes ... I did the Sheila Heidmarch costume ... and confess that much of it was prepared just before I left for GenCon ... although I did spend quite a bit of time before then preparing it ... the tiara, necklace and wayfinder out of fimo; the gown was hand-painted (shame it didn't come out in the photo but there is a Glyph of the Open Road worked into it along with all the different faction symbols); there were 3 layers to the skirt: white petticoat which came from my wedding dress and two layers of blue knit ...

I am looking forward to more ideas from Paizo ... maybe another unique recurring character to costume as ... hopefully something which can be worked into their PFS scenarios which are my fav to GM, play and review ... thank you to Wayne Reynolds who inspired the costume ... looking forward to many others ...

Great costumes. You are all worthy Winners!
