Cane, who appears to look like a much older model then Caleb, does have the typical glowing circuitry around his left eye. It pulses with a dull blueish hue every now and then. When he is plugged in, it lights up bright, giving all a clear sign he has accessed systems or a computer.

"I'll take sensors Caleb. It seems you know a thing or two more then myself on the engineering side of things. And my innate ability to sync with these types of ships should come in handy for learning the system."

Cane turns to face the Vesk who is sitting atop his captains chair like a throne. "Sir I believe that sensor work is right up my ally. I will begin syncing in shortly." Cane jumps up into the oversized Vesk chair stationed in front of an innumerable amount of sensors. All seemingly glowing properly and atleast functional if a little outdated. "Yes, this is incredible, I have worked on this exact model before. Hopefully nothing is drastically different on this model then the stock ones they ship out of Absalom Station these days! Cane shouts this above the assumed thruster noise and ,without thinking, cranks the Vesk seat into perfect position for a man his size, like hes done this multiple times before.

The seat does not need much cranking or finnicking with because Cane is roughly 6"4'-6"5'.

I am really glad to be here. I feel like this can be the start of a new life. Saving these people. Helping others get back to a normal life. I just pray that they haven't come looking for me yet

"Oh, uh sir Cane looks over at Carmine with a quizzical glance, "I would prefer to stay out of any recordings you may be taking. For my, and well your own, personal safety. It's best no one knows that I am on this expedition that doesn't need to know."

Somewhere off in the distance a loud banging can be heard. Followed by an even louder expletive. As the doors to the bridge open with that sweet sweet sound of Vesk craftsmanship, an Android walks through carrying what looks like a very old datapad, tethered to his head with a long cord.

"Good day everyone. I am pleasantly surprised that no one decided to wake me from my charge when we heard that we were being deployed but that is no bother, I have almost finished syncing with the ships scientific protocols and abilities, they are undoubtedly very very familiar to me."

Cane is very proper in the way he speaks anytime the Vesk is present.

How did I end up getting assigned this crew? I just hope big man over there does not have any relatives still on Absalom Station with the ability to send messages through the drift. he thinks

"Ah, Captain, Good Day! Pilot, Good Day! And well hello everyone else. My name is Cane and well, I am just excited to be alive."

Sorry to be asking so many questions. Is there an easier way to navigate to this campaign quickly when I login to the messageboards. Like a shortcut or something of the sorts? Thanks again everyone!

Also, as far as Cane is concerned, this is a brand new start for him. He definitely did not come here with any friends and honestly was looking for a way to escape Absalom Station and keep out of harms way. If he met anyone he would be very partial to making friends with groups that have been slighted in the past. He enjoys helping people out and boosting up there moral. He is also pretty uneasy around Vesk, due to his background and his previous employer.

I would also like to say that Cane could and would make an excellent science officer or engineer considering his innate skills and makeup. He just feels like he could be the pilot (honestly we should not let him be the pilot, we most certainly would crash) haha.

I also have a couple questions. This is my first PbP so I am extremely new to the whole forum [posting and the like. I wanted to ask if anyone could let me know how you can put your class and what not in your posting profile so that it shows up under your name when you post. For example, F. Castor and how it says "Male Human" under his name whenever you post.

And is there any information that would be pertinent to note in regards to knowing the formatting for a PbP that is not explicitly stated in the formatting tab but would be good to know?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Sorry, have not had a chance to boot in to the mainframe for sometime due to "connection" issues.

On that note, I love the explorer option personally. I am partial to another naming convention that may or may not seem intriguing. The Revenant feels like it would be a cool name. Especially for a faster "get in, kill shit, get out" type of ship role.

As for Cane's role on the ship, I like the idea of him being an OK pilot. I have this image of him connecting via USB or some cord to the main piloting rig and kinda linking in, and that's how he can pilot with little to no training on the matter. Certainly with the ability to push people in battle Cane can be a captain but he rather would like to not be in charge of a ship. He does not have that much confidence in himself.

this is my alias for this campaign do my statblock is linked to the profile fyi. hope to start soon and im pumped

Coming online in 5...4...3...2...1
"Good Morning, My name is Canestor - 49. You may and I hope you call me Cane. As it is my preferred name choice."
I am so pumped for this

five things:
1. Canestor-49 is approximately 6’4”, 174lbs, and 27 years old. What this means for Canestor is that he remembers being in this form for a total of 27 years. He does not know much about his creation since there have been 48 incarnations of Canestor before his soul took ownership over this body.
2. Canestor-49 usually goes by “Cane” when out in social situations and not at “work”. He follows the deity Triune, the AI God of the Pact Worlds. He believes that his previous incarnations have each fulfilled their life goal, which is why they moved on, while Cane feels that his life has been nothing but paper pushing.
3. Cane works for a legitimate? (maybe) Vesk mining company. Or so he thinks. He pushes the paper and continually keeps their books and records clean when different Vesk workers come in with paperwork from their latest mining jobs and the like. Cane has come across some intercompany memo’s that have let slip that most of these Vesk are indeed hired mercenaries and bounty hunters who claim they are off Absalom Station working on asteroid mining when they are out their subduing and killing wither good or bad men and women.
4. Cane has finally grown tired of the fact that he keeps these Vesk safe when he is really being used as a typewriter for their illegal mercenary guild. Cane has recently (in the past couple months) begun to slip information to the Absalom Station Security about the illegal undertakings of this Vesk “company”.
5. What pushed Cane into the role of an adventurer was really circumstance and not choice. After feeding information to the cops, Cane realized that he was being followed by a couple of the Vesk he saw previously that same day. Once Cane reached home he saw the Vesk coming up the stairwell and without warning, 4 frag grenades flew into his apartment when the Vesk kicked down the door and Cane jumped from the 6th story window. Hoping the fall wouldn’t destroy his body outright, Cane hit soft garbage and ran.
6. He has been out of the spotlight of the Vesk company for a couple months now and feels that he is relatively safe. He has really pledged the rest of his life to some cause that can make up for his unknowingly willful partaking in the illegal actions of the company. He is considered a wanted man by this band of mercenaries and hit-men, but he really was just trying to help the individuals that these bounty hunters were out to kill daily.

goals:
1. I would very much like for Cane to be able to fulfill his goal of making up for his wrongdoings by helping groups of individuals that are marked for death by some sort of mercenary group or bounty hunting group, by giving them the necessary help to defend themselves or keep them in hiding.
2. Cane would love nothing more than to kill the leader of the mercenary crew that was sent to kill him the day he became a wanted man. The Vesk’s name, he believes the two Vesk were sent to kill him by his old boss “Krizshaw Orgor” a heavily augmented Vesk male that kept him working every day under the guise of the “mining industry”

secrets:
1. Cane is marked for death. When he first inhabited the body known as Canestor-49, the previous soul was newly departed and left him with a warning message. The message being that every soul that has inhabited the body Cane currently is in has only lived to the age of 30 years. It was either out of pure choice, when an Android decides to die, they simply relinquish their souls from the vessel. The previous inhabitant had told Cane that you have thirty years to live, and Cane is currently 27. He knows the end is coming. So, it is now his time to live fully.
2. Cane is completely unaware of the fact that he is not only wanted by the mercenary guild that he sold out, but by the Absalom Station Security foundation. The Vesk soldiers that came to kill Cane, once they failed, set up Cane’s apartment to look as if he had killed a human female and skipped town. So now Cane is literally a wanted man and an Outlaw for certain, but he does not know this and fully trusts the police, cops, security he comes across.

people:
1. “Elaine Prodrick” – Elaine is a human female that Cane has known for almost his entire life. While he is not romantically involved with her, she is his best friend. They tend to talk about everything and Cane has told her on multiple occasions what the Vesk company was up to. He fears for her safety now because he hasn’t seen her after he ran from his apartment after the attempted assassination.
2. “Krank – 80” – Krank is an old old old android. He is Canes landlord. Cane did not have many friends, and he took solace and comradery in Krank. The old android would generally come over for dinner, tea, and discussion whenever Cane needed help with whatever he specifically went through that day. Krank is specifically Canes confidant and he is trying to find him while on the run without alerting the company or the police.
3. “Krizshaw Orgor” – The Vesk male that oversees the company. Cane wants him dead. Krizshaw wants Cane dead. In some way, the company will not stop hunting Cane because he gave up important information and secrets that the company needed and wanted hidden, and now Cane wants Krizshaw dead after learning about the hits that were put out towards well to do individuals by the Vesk company.

memories:
1. Cane remembers the hard hours worked for the company that droned on and on and on. This was a time for him to think, and this is when he learned a way to tell individuals feelings. Something most androids are not too good at.
2. Cane can remember the nights he stayed awake very late, drinking and smoking. These are his vices, and keep him out very late most of the time. These memories are some of his fondest, because he enjoys the silence and cold nights.
3. The memory of seeing his home explode behind him as he jumped from the window has awoken something in Cane that now makes him more emotional and more scared than any other android you may have met. This memory has developed into a very serious case of PTSD.
