About Calondrel Aural
Background
Calondrel lost his family at a young, for an elf, age. His mother was found murdered in their family's home in Iadara. Both his sister and father haven't been seen since that day. Whether they were to blame, or kidnapped is not known. Most of his family were devotees of Calistria and partook in the darker sides of her worship. Setting up for either his father and/or sister to have transformed into a drow. Scrawled on the walls was "Death to lightbringers".
Calondrel was taken in by his maternal grandparents and apprenticed to an armorsmith. However the rumors surrounding his family's death and disappearance always followed him. He's heard the rumors of Drow, but, like many elves, discounts them as impossible. During this time he met Taliss, a secretive elf, who began training him as a magus and encouraging him to seek out more details about his missing family. I'm envisioning Taliss as some form of drow hunter; trying to recruit Calondrel, but needing him to prove himself first. Though he could be anything else you (GM) want him to be.
Taliss continued to push and prod young Calondrel until Calondrel left Iadara. Taliss mentioned there was something happening at Riddleport that might interest Caldondrel; and he's followed that lead. Calondrel suspects this is some form of test and intends to complete it as efficiently as possible so he can return to his homeland. His time among the humans has not been pleasant so far. He's found it easier to attempt to pass as a simpler swordsmen rather than a magus. These humans seem to have funny ideas about people who mix weaponcraft and spellcraft.
