At the start of the Oracle's turn, Life Link takes away 5 hitpoints of damage from whomever's linked, and applies those 5hp dmg to the Oracle. But only 5 per round per person. And has to be a full 5hp. won't heal if you only have 4 dmg.
So this round you get 5hp from life link, and 13 from channel.
Calamity swiftly sacrifices her Burning Arc spell to empower Martha to a +3 enhancement, then she casts Haste on the party, except for Daedin, who's too distant to include in the spell. Then Calamity moves back a bit--the sudden appearance of all these hostile critters has clearly shaken her a bit, and she can barely recognize a ghost when she sees one.
Buffs: Haste on everyone but Daedin. Kn-Religion:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 Kn-Planes on Elementals:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Calamity takes her time and considers the layout of the Green Market, and asks around a bit, then consults at length with her scorpion, Canary. Finally she pushes back her 5-gallon hat and sez
"I think it might be right here. You fellas should start diggin'."
Calamity take ten knowledge on an of those 3 knowledges is 20. If that doesn't give her an idea where to dig, here's the bluff check that she tries sellin' she does know: bluff:1d20 ⇒ 4
"You wouldn't happen to have any of them there klars that we could purchase, or perhaps even a symbol of peace that's already assembled? No offense intended, if it's not the kinda thing you can buy." Calamity ponders for a moment. "And while I'm thinkin' 'bout it, any clues we should be lookin' for to find this here shrine o' Galdron Greenheart?"
While Calamity is more inclined to spittin' in someone's eye or stickin' Martha where the sun don't shine, she does recognize upon occasion there's a call for fancifying words. Not her cuppa, but she'll do what she can.
She attempts to recall a proper form of greeting in Shoanti of someone of Telmayne's stature. She tips her cap respectfully and nods, sayin'
"<<insert Shoanti greeting here>>. I'm Calamity, and me and my friends could surely use yer assistance."
For potions, Calamity will take her time and identify them, but for the other magic items, one never knows what deep power may lie within.
She readily shares what knowledge she has gained.
Take Ten=25, which she assumes can ID any potion she encounters. Rolls for items. Spellcraft ID Vines:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31 Spellcraft ID Staff:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 Feel free to check all the spoilers. Alas, no cure potions among them.
oh, and lots of languages, but Shaonti is not one of them. But with +11 linguistics, Calamity might be able to manage "hello" and "thank you" in Shaonti.
Calamity is caster level 6. Spell Specialization feat with Burning Arc makes that spell Caster Level 8. If Teric had informed Calamity of the Quickwood's resistances before she acted, she would not have targeted the quickwood and simply used Burning Arc on Shambling Vine. (don't know initiative order)
"I'm not entirely certain what both of these plants may be, though that purple one looks a bit like a shambling vine. Let's see if they burn." She flies to over the top of the obscuring mist surrounding Teric then takes careful aim with Martha.
"In the name of BES, let there be a Reckonin'!" She unleashes a burning arc at the creatures.
move action, now 20' high. Swift action, invoke patron for Reckoning (curiosity invocation now gone). Standard action cast Burning Arc (really wish I hadn't used her other Burning Arc for arcane bullets...) Fire dmg on Purple, DC 22 Ref for half:8d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 2, 4, 3, 1, 3) + 8 = 34 Fire dmg on Red, DC 20 Ref for half:4d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 5) + 4 = 25
Calamity shrieks in panic; she's had baaad experiences with haunts in the past.
"Quickly, channel all the positive energy and/or healing you can muster!" Lacking anything with more firepower for this, Calamity whips out a holy water flask and throws it at the area from where the chanting seems to be emerging.
Calamity will activate her flight hex then take off after the other fleeing Aspis.
She calls after the agent upon whom she's rapidly closing, pistol in hand. "I reckon you outta surrender 'bout now, young fella. It'll go alot easier if'n you did"
Standard action to activate. Move 55' while gaining 5' of elevation
Calamity takes a few steps back and then attempts to put the sorcerer to sleep.
Slumber Hex
DC 16 will save
Fair enough. But DC is actually 18 these days (she leveled up and casting stat went up--I've updated the profile to correct that). Also, if there's still time, as a swift action she'll invoke her for patron for Curiosity, which will bump that WIll save DC to 19
My apologies, but I have a family wedding this weekend, and I'll be driving for 12+ hours on Thursday and Sunday. Obviously, it'll be difficult to post every day, so please do bot me as necessary.
"So you fellas are looking to dance? And here I left my calico dress back at the Lodge." As a swift action, Calamity sacrifices one of her Burning Arc spells to empower her Mage Bullets, giving Martha a +3 enhancement. Then Calamity calmly pulls out Martha as she steps forward, and out of the barrel of her pistol she unleashes a color spray at the Aspis goons, casting defensively, just in case they got them combat reflexes.
She turns to Zeeva, "You said to be gentle with 'em, right?"
concentration check:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
Will Save, DC:20 (17+3 for Arcane Gun enhancement) for all 3 goons. Feel free to delete my purple boxes on map showing area blasted Color Spray description
A flustered woman with pale blue skin and silver eyes with no pupils comes rushing up. She's wearing a buckskin coat with fringe along the sleeves, a silver star on her chest that looks a lot like a wayfinder, and she's sporting the biggest belt buckle you've ever seen.
"I'm so sorry about missing the boat, fellas. I misplaced a bookmark, and by the time I found it, I knew I'd need to make my own arrangements to get here. Oh, by the way, the name's Calamity, and this here's Martha." She pats a shiny pistol at her hip.
"And o' course, this here's Canary." At the sound of his name, a scorpion scampers out of a satchel on Calamity's hip and scurries up on to her shoulder. Who's the cutest little scorpion in the whole wide world? That's right, it's Canary.
The scorpion shivers in what can only be delight, clacking his pincers as Calamity scratches under his...chin?
Then Calamity notices Zeeva and her face lights up with a smile bright as the strongest Daylight spell. "Zeeva! So good to see you again! And where's that little scamp of a cat of yours?"
Calamity's most recent adventure was 8-01: Portent's Peril. So she's recently helped Zeeva out of another predicament. And she'll try for a nat-20 on that first knowledge check.
With your permission I will change my character selection, I will use my paladin 8 because a master is asking for a frontliner of lvl 6 in order to continue with his game.
Was that necessary? I will play frontliner.
Hey Malark:
I think you misunderstood garmon.
His point was that his level 6 was needed in another game, so he's going with level 8 for this game. Which class wasn't really the issue. Either way he was going with melee type (actually, with paladin, he may not be a frontliner--could be healer focus. But his level 6 was hellknight/samurai, so mosdef dmg dealer.)
By my reckoning, that's level
8+7+8+6+6=35
APL=35/5=7
With season 4, 5 players, that's high tier with 4-player adjustment.
Calamity is fine with playing up, but making certain folks are aware of it (especially our other level 6)

character description:
You see what appears to be a female human, but she has pale blue skin and solid silver eyes—-not a pupil nor iris to be found in ‘em. She’s awful skinny and fragile looking, but then again, she must be wiry, ‘cuz it looks like she’s toting an entire alchemist lab in her bulging backpack. Okay, these days, she actually has a handy haversack, but she sure can tote a lot more weight around than you'd suspect for such a puny gal.
She’s wearing a duster--with fringe on the sleeves, o’course--and there’s a silver star pinned to her chest—which, upon closer inspection, appears to be a stylized wayfinder. She’s also sporting the biggest belt buckle you ever did see (in fact, it’s big enough it looks like it might even protect her if someone tried pokin’ ‘er in the belly). Wild West version of a haramaki
And last, but certainly not least, she’s sporting a shiny pistol on her hip.
Calamity is a blaster witch
CG Samsaran Spellslinger Wizard 1/Invoker Witch 5.
She does have flight Hex (in case you want to pay attention to ceiling heights, etc, when prepping.)
She also has Slumber hex, but tends to use mostly if nonlethal methods are preferred--or if things are going south and the party needs savin'.
Her current spell specialization is Burning Arc (switching that to Lightning Bolt next level). I'll be working on her profile...
