Do you want to advertise the spot on the recruitment board? I'll ask about my PbP friends. Will you take new characters if they, for example, meet us at the Cathedral?

Male Human Scum / 2

Climb 30/2 = 15: 1d100 ⇒ 75
Agility = 39: 1d100 ⇒ 98
Damage: 1d5 ⇒ 3 - TB 3 = 0

Clearly distracted by the outdoors Bulldog looses his footing on the climb. He falls heavily brusing himself, and sliding back down the incline.

Does that mean I have to roll again to try to get up the hill?

Male Human Scum / 2

I'm back!

Awareness+20 (54): 1d100 ⇒ 100 Wow!
Bulldog spends the entire ride gape jawed staring at the sky.

Well Lothar, these cards were gifted to me by the Abbott after the events began, as a gift for my swift respond to his request for aid. Since then I have used them in my divinations, though I do not know of their use outside of my possession. I can only assume the Abbot and others within the Ecclesiarch have used them to ask for the Emperor's Guidance. They have been stored on Scintilla until they were gifted to me I believe. Why the sudden interest I must ask?

"It occurs to me that these cards have been around for the overthrowing of the ancient daemon and the construction of the abbey. They have powers beyond my understanding, easily amounting to psychic phenomena. All that and the fact that they are now making their way back to the centre of the problem peaks my suspicions..." Lothar looks around nervously, aware that he was about to push his luck. [b]"I don't suppose I could convince you to bring them back to our master, Lord Inquisitor Vownus Kaede, for study..."

The Shale Crows unnerve Bulldog greatly.
[b]"Foul creatures of the sky... Seer, has any study been made of these animals? How do they see without eyes? I wonder if they have any connection to this crow father?[/i]

Bulldog will attempt to take one out with his silenced autogun and do his own study of it
I don't know how close I can get to one but Bulldog will take as many advantages as he can. <2m point blank range (+30), <50m close range +10, unaware target +30, small target -10

So unless modifiers allowed him to hit the first time I'd deduct 3 bullets
damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Medicate to see if it contains any extra organs, warp mutations, etc (33+20 medikit 53): 1d100 ⇒ 51

Bulldog will also ask if either Aristarchus or Thrace can detect any influence of the warp on the creature.

Male Human Scum / 2

Can you make 2 seporate rolls for 2 distinct topics? Shadoven?

Male Human Scum / 2

"Cosrach, you are schooled in legend, is there any word on Saint Drusus carrying a deck of emperor's Tarot? Also, do you remember anything about the Daemon he supposedly overthrew here?" I was peaking at your profile and saw you had Scholastic lore (Legend)

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog manages to pull himself together for long enough to pursue his new object of fascination.

"Lord Aristarchus" Lothar says, gulping down some spittle along with some nerves "An artefact such as those cards must have an extensive history, can you please tell us of it in as much detail as possible."
He glances at the sky once more... the sky *gulp*

As the seer talks Bulldog will pose the following questions:
"When did you receive these cards from the Abbot? Was it before, after, or about the same time these phenomena started occurring?"
"What have you used them for since you received them?"
"What did the Abbot use them for, do you know?"
"Did they help in determining the location the cathedral should be built?"
"Where did the Abbot come by the cards? How did they become his?"
"What do we know of their use before the Abbot came to possess them?
"What do we know of their chain of ownership before the Abbot came to possess them"

Male Human Scum / 2

Although he's far too preoccupied with the fearfully open landscape around him to participate in any amount of conversation, Bulldog does take note of what Aristarchus says. If he wasn't so distracted it would have peaked his interest. These cards are associated with the saint, the deamon, the abbot, the cathedral and Aristarchus. They could be key to this entire problem.

@Thrace - Can you tell with Psyniscience if there's anything unusual about the cards? Are they somehow sentient, or deamon infested, like a chaos deamon weapon...

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog hardly gives the ramshackle truck a second look and climbs on board without hesitation. However, he soon comes to regret the action as the vehicle leaves Port Suffering behind and with it any semblance of a proper hab.
The wilderness is a horror to behold, vastly open with nothing but air between Bulldog and space. It didn't look like space though. A strange hue of baby blue with grey whispey parts hung miles above his head. Bulldog had seen it between the buildings in the port town, but it was never so vast and overwhelming. He resigned not to show his fear to the others as he hung on tightly to the flatbed.

Male Human Scum / 2

I'd really apreciate it if someone did have a look through the library, I think it could really help our investigation.
@Thrace - If you're still with us you'd be the best person to ask about the Tarot Cards, considering they're probibly Emperor's Tarot

Male Human Scum / 2

Considering I got 3 degrees of success on my barter test can I not get a bit of a discount on the Hand Cannon and the man stopper rounds?

Male Human Scum / 2

@Logan - Being on a semi-feral world, you might have access to the toxic bolas from the Inquisitor's handbook, if you want and the GM approves

Male Human Scum / 2

I'll want to see the prices I can get for the following before I buy/sell

Stuff to sell:
Quilted vest (10)
Stub Revolver (40)
Personal Vox (?)
Barter 37: 1d100 ⇒ 67

Stuff to Buy:
Mesh cowl (100)
Hand Cannon (65)
Man stopper rounds (5 for 6)
Barter 37: 1d100 ⇒ 6

OK so I'll assume I'd get 5 for the quilted vest and 20 for the stub revolver. I'm not sure if I even want to sell the Personal vox, it depends if the microbead makes it redundant or not.
That's 3 degrees of success on barter for buying stuff. What sort of discount does that net me?

Male Human Scum / 2

I will want to buy/sell stuff. What is a personal vox? I don't see it in the rule book.

Male Human Scum / 2

I'm ready to move forward

Male Human Scum / 2

Not having literacy, I'm not actually going to be of any use in the library.

Bulldog will offer to go to the pitts for anyone who's staying with Aristarchus. Just give him the thrones, equipment to sell and a precise set of instructions, He will get you the best deal he can.

Which means he has barter.

Male Human Scum / 2

Also who needs to roll what for going through the library?

Male Human Scum / 2

Should I make inquiry tests to find the best places to buy and sell gear? Can someone aid me?

Well, Lothar, in all honesty you will not find a better collection of local legend and lore than in this very building, as I collect information that the average citizen should not have access to. Perhaps the Senior Arbitrator, if you have not already spoken to him?

"He claimed to have little to no informationfor us. I tend fto believe him." Bulldog frowned as he spoke.

GM_Shadoven wrote:
As for why it was chosen, I am not sure as to why that exact location. I do know that legends claim Saint Drusus, back when he was a General, overthrew a powerful Daemon on this world, and reclaimed it for the Imperium. This will also be the first actual Cathedral on Iocanthos. The Abbot is a influential man, and his request to build one, as well as his request for aid, could not be turned down.

Being one of his primary interests, bulldog pushed this point a bit further "Was it the Abbot who chose this location? Did anything else change about the same time these psychic phenomena began?"

GM_Shadoven wrote:
As for the Adeptus Sororitas, the Sisters tend to keep to themselves. Unknown to most, they are aware of the Inquisition's activities in this area and at times, with the permission of Lord Inquisitor Zerbe of the Calixian Conclave, can be called to battle. They are the most elite soldier's in the sector. We maintain limited contact with them, but they keep to themselves, and as far as I know they do not know of the disturbances.

Contemplating scrapping this line of inquiry entirly bulldog asked the question that would put the final nail in it's coffin "Is the Sisters of Battle Abby located close enough to the Cathedral to be significant? Or are they on the other side of planet?"

Logan Lithbin wrote:
"That's all eh? F&&%, maybe I shoulda' come with ya, sounds like you lot couldn't get a joygirl to show ya where her naughty bits were." Logan says, resisting over his shoulder at the end, "Alright, so has your poking around local lore revealed anybody who might not want to see the church built? Are there any local factions not so in line with the idea of a big building being built in the name of someone who isn't their hell born deity of darkness and despair? Logan asks before digging into his meal wholeheartedly, periodically lifting his eyes up to the seer.

Bulldog ignores the slur completely, his mind still awash with posabilities. Even though the question is not really for him he volenteers his theory, if only to hear it out loud himself.

"Closest I can guess at the moment is that this deamon that Drusus overthrew somehow survived, and is one in the same as this 'Crow Father'. Perhaps one of these bands of nomad wariors has taken to worshiping it."
Bulldog looks around. "It's a weak theory, but it fits. This Deamon would certainly not want to see an Cathedral raised for the Saint Drusus."

Bulldog turns to Cosrach and Thrace
"Perhaps after the meal, we can go to through Lord Aristarchus's collection and see if we can find something useful related to this crow father or the deamon and Saint Drusus."

Needless to say, they didn't. Rest a the party went off an' interrogated em. Speakin' a which, probably should have asked on the way here, but you find out anything good?

"He kept repeating 'The Wise One's have seen darkness brought from afar!' no amount of persuasion would get anything more out of him"

Bulldog turns to Aristarchus.
"Master Aristarchus, if you would please I have some questions. It seems a lot of this mystery is wrapped up with local history and lore. A good ruffle through a library or a talk with an expert would go a long way to finding us some answers. If we can I'd like to try and see to this before we leave. Can you point me in the right direction?"
"Also being a great follower of the Saint Drusus and have good knowledge on the cathedral, can you perhaps tell us the significance of the site on which it was built. Why was it chosen?"
"Is the Sorities abbey nearby? Do we have any contact with them? Do they have any opinion on all of this?"

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog will only question him for about 20-30min before leaving him in the hands of the Arbitrator. He has no wish to keep the Aristarchus waiting.

Are the Senior Arbitrator's answers are the best Bulldog is going to get from any experts in the Precinct-Fortress? If not he will repeat the questions to those who would have the best knowledge in the relevant areas

I'm waiting on a response to all of this

If Aristarchus is not coming then Bulldog will suggest that they question the prisoner without him and with the Senior Senior Arbitrator (does he have a name?). We just need to keep our questions within his need to know limit for now.

Male Human Scum / 2

FYI Bulldog and the others do not know where you are thrace. They're expecting you to come to them, out of the assumption that Aristarchus knows where the presinct-fortress is.

"Each of our needs varies, but the group could do with combeads and a good medi-kit."
"We must ensure that the captive is not only isolated but remains available for questioning for the duration of our stay on this planet. I take it you can provide that."
Bulldog listens to the cherub
"I'm not sure about your level of involvment in our interogation process. I would think that it might be above your clearence. I'll leave that decission to Aristarchus, he will be able to asertain how much we're allowed to share with you."
"We will share with you what we can, and you will, at the very least, be free to question him yourself after our investigation. We want to do everything in our power to help eachother, but our work demands the utmost level of secrecy. The punishments for not following that are extreme, and at times payable on a global scale"

Loghar tries to make it clear that the inability to share information with the Arbites is not his choice and is there for a very good reason. If pushed he will explisitly state as much and remind him that the final decission is with Aristarchus.

While moving towatds the Precinct-Fortress Loghar asks about several subjects:
The Senior Arbitrator's name rank and level of clearence, including proof (ID)
Anything he knows or that is on file about the gang that attacked the party.
Does he know anything about "the crow father"? Perhaps something in local ledgend.
Examples of the strange Phenomena. Do they have any common attributes?
What else has changed about the time that the phenomena started?
Anything he can share about his investigation into cults?
Who/What is Ashleen. Bulldog will be subtile about this last point, trying to gleen the information from responses to other questions before asking directly.

Bulldog will introduce himself as "Loghar"

Cosrach sighs but doesn't say anything.

And now, everyone knows we are here.. maybe we could have hired a herald and a choir...

Bulldog made sure to avoid telling those on the streets, but that cherub sure did!

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog allows himself to be helped up.
"I'm afraid we can't go into the strange phenomena, at least not until we know more. But the why's of the attack I'd like to find out myself. Perhaps you can provide us with a secure location to question and store our captive."
Bulldog gestures to the lone surviving ganger.
"Now that he knows who we are it would be best if he's kept in isolation for the duration of our stay on Iocanthos. When we leave you will be briefed as to the situation and you can do with the ganger, as you like."
"Incidentally, you should know that it is of the utmost importance that you and your men keep the knowledge of our presence to yourselves."
"And for our rough treatment, perhaps you can make it up to us. We were called on this assignment in a bit of a hurry, which left us a bit short on supplies... Perhaps you can help us make up for our slack."

Overhearing Logan, Bulldog responds, "The cherub will find us or we will find our contact ourselves. In the mean time let's get some work done!"

Male Human Scum / 2

"The inquisition is not in the habit of making it's actions well know. You should, however, have noticed an upshot of mysterious activity that would draw the attention of the inquisition."
Bulldog takes a deep breath
"We have our orders from Inquisitor Vownus Kaede as proof. I can't allow you to read them but you can certainly see his signature and seals."
If the man allows him Bulldog will show him the orders without disclosing anything sensitive. He will also emphasise the subtile movements of his hand required to unlock the dataslate.
"The gunfight was started when these, obviously local gangers, charged us. The reason for this we don't know but I very much doubt that it is unrelated to our mission."
"As for the psyker activity, I'm afraid that falls within the remit of our Inquisitorial activity here on Iocanthos"

Male Human Scum / 2

OK So I'm going to FP my scrutiny down to 12 (success)

"Inquisition," bulldog continues in a hushed tone, still not making any agressive moves "we're members of the Inquisition. We're happy to answer your questions, it's the beatings that we don't need."

Male Human Scum / 2

The Inquisition is above local law and to an extent Imperial law.

I though I saw somewhere in the DH rulebook that we had some form of insignia. Not an inquisitorial rosette, but something less powerful. I'll look it up tonight.

Male Human Scum / 2

Cosrach Armengarde:
No worries

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog will keep 2 of the stubpistols, all of the ammo and 1 vial of face paint. He'll half the pistol ammo with Logan if Logan wants it.

Thanks!

Male Human Scum / 2

"Let them go" Bulldog says "We have everything we need here." looking at his wounded foes he continues
"Thrace can you have a look at my chest and try to stabilize the downed gangers. Lets find out what this was about."

Anyone who was running away Bulldog ignores but those wounded or crawling away Bulldog will try to round up and question. Not before going through their pockets and confiscating all weapons ammo and thrones.

I'll keep up to 2 pistols preferably stub automatics if there are any, all the ammo and all the thrones. I assume they all have clubs, as combat weapons, which doesn't interest Bulldog in the least. I'll also look over any Ids/personal effects, tatoos etc for anything of interest.

Male Human Scum / 2

@Thrace - I think when you're attacking an unaware target you get a +30, not that it matters in this case

Bulldog will be in full cover near the enterance of the ally.
How many can I get with suppressing fire without hitting my own team? What's the maximum distance I can be from them without being on a crowded street?

Initiative: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11

Male Human Scum / 2

Having outpaced everyone else I will be hiding well within a shop. Well out of sight of the road to the extent that I'd need Thrace to tell me what's going on. I would have hoped that would get me a better modifier that +10

Concealment Ag 39 / 2 +10 = 29
1d100 ⇒ 78

But the dice gods hate me anyway...

Male Human Scum / 2

"With a bit of luck we won't even need to hit them" Bulldog responds to Logan.

Bulldog pushes ahead of the rest of the group, easily outpacing them in the crowd. When he's sure that he's out of sight he hides in a shop completely out of sight and draws his autopistol and club.
"Yea best be there Thrace, otherwise I won't know when they've passed" He whispers, unsure if she is anywhere nearby.

Male Human Scum / 2

"How's this? Myself and the psyker will move forward and hide in a shop or something until both you and them have passed then we can come out behind them and see if we can't talk them down."

In terms of reasoning. I got move through crowds for being from a hive world. Thrace has the Chameleon tallent, so she can hide in plain site and watch them pass. That leaves our 2 main fighters behind, incase the gangers attack in the mean-time.
When we have them standing down I'll leave the interogation to people with the interogate and intimidate skills.
If they fight, then at least we will be in good flanking positions to deal with it

Male Human Scum / 2

I don't want to get where we're going only to find out it's a trap and there are people before and behind us. Likewise they might be just using us to lead them to Aristarchus, we don't want that either.
"How many? Are they wearing clothing that could easily conseal weaponry?"

Male Human Scum / 2

Bulldog uses the same low tone.
"Are they armed?"

Bulldog will purposely walk so that he's always near cover and watch for similarly garbed gangers ahead of the group or down any adjacent alleys

Male Human Scum / 2

@Zoros, Cosrach - Do you want to tell us what you see/hear

Male Human Scum / 2

I so didn't spot that! I was thinking of using a FP except Zoros had succeeded.
