Brunhilde's face goes white when she sees the priest and she quickly turns away from him and toward the rest of her companions. "Ohh, I'm sorry!" she squeaks nervously and looks down at the ground. "I forgot to tell you earlier that the priest wanted to see us. Sorry, with all the chaos of today, it completely slipped my mind!"
Brunhilde helps get the corpse into the cart and even helps to push it. "Not my first time transporting a corpse, you'll be happy to hear. Remember that outbreak of Yellow Spots a few years back? Hit our town pretty hard."
Brunhilde nods in agreement and leaves to find an official member of the guard to inform him of the death.

I am also still here but am also confused.
Aaaand I'm back. Sorry for the slight delay, but I thought it was a good idea to eat spoiled food upon my return, thereby gifting myself to mild food poisoning. All better now, thankfully!
Sorry about the delay in returning. Stuff had piled up while I was on vacation that had to be taken care of. Hope everyone is doing well. Now back to the show!
Brunhilde's shoulders visibly lower and relax when she hears the news from Konrad. "Well, that's a relief. So, did the guards want us to hunt down anything else? And what's that I hear about the Dullahind coming back?"
FYI, I'm going on vacation beginning tomorrow (6/16) through 6/26. I'll have internet access and will be posting during that time, but it may be a bit sporadic. Apologies.
Brunhilde remains outside with her dagger drawn, hoping that her stealthier companions can figure out what is going on inside.
Brunhilde will take one advance in Fellowship and bank the rest.
I'm not sure, that seems like a lot more bookeeping.
, Brunhilde shrieks loudly and makes a scarey/spooky face. "Keep your distance, people, or the Dullahan will rise and come for yoooouuuuu!!"
So if we all roll to intimidate, do any negative SLs subtract from the positive SLs?
I can but I thought we were to all make attempts? Was I reading that wrong? I thought the GM just meant that we have to get four success levels, whether that's one person or many. Seems that more people are good at Intimidate, so perhaps that is the better move.
I'm good at Charm. Anyone want to assist me (you need to have at least 1 advancement in the skill to assist)?
Brunhilde gives Felver a double-take. "The headless horseman? In a barn? In town? What is he doing? Looking for oats for his horse? I thought we, I mean you, killed him?"
Brunhilde is still unsure of what's going on and hangs back while Konrad moves on ahead. "What? A barn? Are we looking for missing cows?"
Brunhilde follows Felver, her dagger still held in her hand. "What's going on, buddy?" she asks him in a low voice as she pulls alongside.
When she sees the body's eyes opening, Brunhilde jumps back. "Wait, is that thing dead or not?" she screams, holding her knife in front of her defensively.
Brunhilde draws her dagger and looks around, seeing if she can locate the source of the person's condition. "Damn, it's dark in this alley," she mutters, half to herself.

Brunhilde walks at a slower pace after Imrik, shouting: "Wait, are we supposed to police the streets or investigate murders? What is our mandate? And what's the pay?" She is in no hurry and does not bother putting on any part of the uniform that she was handed, but does keep her hand near the hilt of her dagger in her pocket. If they think they'll get me putting on this schmata, they have another thing coming.
Brunhilde grumbles and wrinkles her forehead in frustration when she hears the comment about "unsolved murders". "Yeah, that or we're here to settle old scores more likely. Always good to bring in outsiders who one can claim are 'impartial'. I can hear it already: 'I swear! I never meant for them to drag old Lady Whatsherface's name through the mud!'" She shakes her head in disgust and pulls out a flask, taking a short pull from it and then offering it to the others. "Here's something I brought with me. It's good stuff. Not the rotgut they sell here. Try some."
Brunhilde gives Felver a quizzical look as she is handed the uniform. "Me? A guard? That's rich. What do they want me to guard them from, a quiet night at home? That's the only thing I've had any experience in protecting others from." She then thinks for a moment and looks back at the inn. "Think they would mind if I continued working in the kitchen during my off-time? Speaking of which, what are the hours of this guard job? Also, do we get to start collecting protection money from local businesses? That's all the guards in Altdorf ever did as far as I could tell."
Brunhilde is used to being regarded with distrust and suspicion, so the looks of the villagers don't bother her, although she does starting thinking that leaving might not be such a bad idea after all. After speaking with the priest, she attempts to track down the others to let them know about the priest of Sigmar's. She runs into Imrik and Udo having a conversation, and sees Felver, Gottfied, and Konrad approaching from afar. She gives them a curt wave as she approaches. "Hi-ho fellow slayers," she intones sarcastically, "I ran into the local priest of Sigmar who asked me to find you. He may have a job for us brave dullahan-killers, or he may have a question. In any case, he's worth a visit if nothing else."
Brunhilde softens a bit as she talks to the priest. "They are around. I will let them know you are looking for them when I see them. Where can they find you?"
Brunhilde honestly tells Father Schmidt that she was cowering in fear inside the carriage when the creature was killed, and that it was also quite dark that night. "You'll have to ask the men who did the actual killing. I was more of a bystander than anything else." ,
Brunhilde has had run-ins with Sigmarites in the past and they have never gone well. She generally finds that they are too full of themselves and think they are above everyone else. They also tend to moralize about people in her profession, but she has found that priests of Sigmar can be found among her clientele just as often as other people. In response to the man's question, she comes over and wipes her hands on her apron. "Yes, I have a bit of free time before I need to get the bread in the oven after it finishes proofing. I was in the coach, but did none of the slaying. What is this about?"
Brunhilde nods at the cook's question. "I worked for a lady who had us perform a large variety of duties for her. Working in the kitchen was one of them, but she kept me otherwise occupied most of the time."
Brunhilde smiles a bit at the cook's joke, but doesn't take that conversation further, not wanting to think about the terror of the previous night. She continues to do her best to be helpful in the kitchen.
Brunhilde is happy to work in the kitchen and busies herself as best she can. She knows she is not the best cook, so ends up asking a lof of questions about how to prepare the food. She tries to look somewhat proficient, however, and won't ask so many questions that she looks like she doesn't know what she is doing.
Hi folks, sorry about my unannouced absence, but I am back.
Brunhilde makes her way to the common room to check in with the men in her group there. "Everyone sleep okay? The inkeeper was nice enough to get me a decent place to sleep in exchange for my work yesterday. I don't know if she's got work for me today, however. Anyone get any leads for work in the common room last night?"
Yeah I'm in oil and gas here in NE Scotland. Ops Supervisor for a Integrity team (basically we get called if things go south and safety is an issue). Ah, very cool! My family used to go on camping holidays in Sutherland. Beautiful country up there. Be safe.
Brunhilde smiles at the man's joke and leaves for the bar to fill any orders.
Just a heads up gang - had a couple of rush offshore jobs land of my lap this morning, so might be mid-week before I'm clear enough to contribute. Please bot Udo as/when/if necessary. Offshore?
Brunhilde will approach the table she thinks she heard the conversation coming from. As she is clearing the mugs and asking for new orders she casually mentions, "So I'm new here in Halt. That new priest of Sigmar I heard you mention, he's not a good one? I've known some drunken priests in my day, and there's nothing worse than a man who pretends to be beyond reproach, but is just as human as the rest of us, eh?"
As Konrad reached his first short term goal (?) I was thinking as a new one: “earn money as a legally hired duelist.” Does that work? It works for me! Oh wait, it has nothing to do with me.
Brunhilde lets the others do the talking, having gotten on the wrong side of the law more than once in her life. Well, let's be honest, a lot more than once. She does try to keep an eye on things and listen in to best judge the woman's intentions.
Brunhilde continues with her waitressing duties, but always makes sure to stay within earshot of what this woman is saying if possible and tries not to draw any attention to herself. Better to lay low as long as possible. Who knows what new trouble this woman brings with her. I do like the hat, though.
Brunhilde is much too busy with her work to notice anything about bells tolling. If nothing else, she is beginning to enjoy the work, although laughing off the pinching and slapping is getting a bit tiring. She makes sure to note the faces of each of customers who do so. I'll have my revenge on all of you, don't you worry.
So... sleep huddled outside then Or you could ask if there's work to be done at the inn and pay your own way the way I have.
Brunhilde spends a minute cleaning herself up behind the bar, which involved getting the worst of the blood and mud off of her. Shen then pulls out a small comb and puts her hair up in a bun before getting straight to work behind the bar, where she grabs a tray and a wet rag to clear off a table covered in several tankards and a spill. Just from looking at how she moves, you can tell that she has worked as a server before. She follows the innkeeper's instructions to the letter, not wanting to get on her bad size and surprises herself by even refusing to secretly pocket any coin that crosses her hand. Not good to tempt the fates on a night like this where I've already won the lottery by surviving an attack.
Brunhilde smiles wanly at the innkeeper's warm comment and sidles up to her so that only the two of them can understand their conversation. "Thank you very much, Mistress. Is there a bucket of water somewhere where I could freshen up a bit. The lads and I have been through a lot this night, and I wouldn't want to frighten your customers with my wild appearance."
