The print version is available as single issues or by subscription. Take your pick.

Thank you much. Any chance of the 1st cover being available as a Poster?

Is there a Paizo chatroom? If so. Where it is?
If not. Why?

On that I have no comment. We obviously forgot to delete the reference to the sidebar in the main text. :(

Or... um... I guess I did have a comment, after all. :D

Any chance of the Gruaghlothor sidebar becoming a web-enhancement? Pleasey... ;;D

added on: Ooips could you pass on the request to Boz and Shade, then?

I can't find the Gruaghlothor sidebar. Did it accidentally get bumped? Will it instead be a web-enhancement?

I'll give it a try with my remaining balance, and see how usefulit is to me. But if it is an overly humanocentric setting, I won't bother beyond that. I don't need "Dungeon" material, nothing against it. I'm just more curious and interested in the more "Dragon"-ish part of it. Perhaps as more customer oriented Paizo is, they might in the future have it available in split/cheaper format. I keep my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath, with the info about the iconic characters. ::( Too many humans. ::( But still looking forward what new stuff they'll have. ;;D

I want to sign up, but am short on funds. Is there a way to start with what my Dragon subscription balance? Or would I have to wait until the magazine runs out 1st?

I want to know more about any new Races or new rolls for standard ones, for this world.

I'd also like to add that my objections are not due to a resistance to change. It's more so due to the financial feasability, utility, and eye strain. Even if I win a lottery to afford a laptop, the eyestrain from a 'puter screen is hell on one's eyes.

I say "fi" to WotC.

P.S. Someone really pooped their pants at WotC

This is bad in all ways, at least for those of us who'd rather buy D&D products than spend waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money on constantly updating computers. Plus, the lack of portability for those of us without trustfunds.

I have subscribed for years, I had to stop while they only accepted creditcard payments, but re-started when they finally decided to accept checks(electronic or otherwise) again.

Yet another thing that makes this year, a very bad one.

This new "thing" will, knowing my luck, not be compatable with my clunker PC. It can't even handle the standard WotC webpage. Way too "flash" intense.

I just hope "Pathfinder" will at least be similar in relativity to the mags we love. Will there be stuff on the 3 campaign settings, or will it be it's own new one?

Yeenoghu, Yeenoghu, Yeenoghu, Yeenoghu......

It would be nice to see some new Skill Tricks geared for each heading. ;;D

Perhaps when you feature a setting theme for the issue, how aboot including tips on flavoring your characters to that setting. ;;D

While not intended as a suggestion of the "substitution level" nature (as some may interpret this so), I'd like to see the occasional alternate class feature. A'la the current web-enhancement on the WotC site for Cityscape for city druids. ;;D

I too, never received that issue. ::( I suspect many a postal carrier liked the cover too much.

I'll second that, with gusto, Damn you bet...!

I have mixed words for this book. "I" won't be buying it. It doesn't do a thing for me. Being a player in poverty, the few new monsters aren't aren't enough ot warrant the high cover price. I agree with many on both sides who've posted in this thread, but "Monster Manual IV" is definately not the right name for this book. Perhaps it should have been named "DMG2: Appednix I". As a DM I don't have problems levelling things up, and fleshing them out with templates or classes, I guess I'm just gifted in that aspect, but it is an excellent tool for quick encounter throw-downs.

Do I run-on my sentences much? Maybe.... ;;D

It would be awesome to see this series return.

Sticking to the thread title. I'd like to see some articles on some of the more obscure characters of the Realms, and their goings-on. For example "What's going on with Atad Yelloweyes?"

As far the sourcebook discussion, I was both extremely pleased and severely dissappointed with "Serpent Kingdoms". The writing and material was very, very well executed, except for that idiotic "reptiles are evil" approach that was taken, and stating pumans as a creator-race. Where was the hinted-at and semi-promised hard-cover update of Saurials?!?! Though I monstrously appreciate Sean's very excellent Dragon Mag artcile on them;;D. Some DMs don't allow Dragon Magazine arcitles for usable source material for making characters.::( It can be so odd and mentally stressiing when one such as myself both hates and loves a book so much. As far as MotM goes, I had no hopes in any way for the book as that region is so nazi-ishly humanocentric. I have no judgement on it.

Now that I look back, I should've changed paragraphs a time or 2. D'oh!

Many mentioned in earlier posts have been wonderfully done. ;;D Now I'm going suggest and/or re-suggest some of those that haven't.

Yeenoghu, Yeenoghu, Yeenoghu ;;D
Demogorgon ;;D
Miska ;;D If they do this guy, it'd be kewl to update his underlings as well.
Jubilex, Jubilex, Jubilex ;;D
any such personallities of Pandemonium?!?!?!

... and these I'd like to apply anti-votes toward--

Llolth - She's a goddess not fiend royalty. Sheeeeesh!
Orcus - Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn. I'm really tired of this guy. However a fresh new approach may change that, if focus is put on his time Tenebrus.

A short rant.

I hate it when players show up for a game and don't want to actually game. Just call and say you can't make it. You may have perfectly logical reasons to not want to game and that's acceptable. It's not like I've not had nights where I just wanted to call it off because of a bad mood in which I might kill the party or suffered from lack of sleep that turned the game into a one-room, "go home, I'm going to sleep" sort of thing. It happens.

I hate that my wife who is playing one of the more important members of the party, tends to fall asleep less than an hour after we've actually gotten started playing, telling me to "NPC me." - she then expects to have the same XP as everyone else at the next game session... She gets up earlier than I do, and we're playing on Fridays right now, so I can understand fatigue, but.... ARGH!!

I hate it when the group agrees to get together the next day to make up for a night of no-game, only to have one person decide simply not to show up. No call, no explanation, no nothing.

Do we game? No, because that person is rather important to the group...

We did, however, decide to start a d20 Modern game for when he's not around. Next time he shows up late and sees us all having a good time without him, he'll either want in on the game, or he'll decide he can show up whenever he wants - either of which is fine with us, since we're sort of tired of all gathering at one time only to have him show up when "another game" ends a couple of hours later...

RUDE!

I know exactly what you mean. I had a Dm that would be "hosting" a game, but would only sit in front the TV and get the game started. That was soooooooo irritating.

I am running a campaign where I'd really love to run over my players with a really low level critter- the lowly stirge. I have 3 players, 14th level.

I have tried giving the stirge the "ghost brute" template and the "evolved undead(X10)" template from the Liber Mortis. Does anyone have any other cool ideas to make the stirge a challenge for my players? And yes, I am set on the stirge- there are reasons.

Having read many of the other ideas, here are a couple to use without having to go "Epic".

* Make them the "pets" of an evil druid or perhaps the swarm leader could be awakened, that via some ritual made them able aquire traits of cratures that they siphon blood from, for example let us say they may have gained the regneration of a Troll, adn also fed from the veins of both black and dragons as well.

* A swarm of Stirges that are the offspring of a symbiote that was attached to a Rust Monster, and they inherited it's rust based abilities. It won't raise the CR by much they'll be a nasty challenge, that won't get them much Xp. ;;D

I'll start off by saying "Hate" or hatred is a result of stupidity, ignorance, and narrow-mindedness. None of these things fit into D&D. Unless of coarse you wish to be some hate-mongering churches' poster child against D&D.

1.) I however am disgusted with how WotC set up humans in 3e to really be +3 LA ubers. This silly. Their excuse is to encourage people tp play more humans.

Why?

Those who like to play as humans would still play them without all the broken "extras".

2.) I get disgusted with how many updates to 3e completely ignore previous material and ruin what was once beautiful.

3.) What happened to keeping the books close to $20? Changing the edition title isn't a good enough excuse or justification.

4.) Why must it be so frickin' frustratingly difficult find other playes?!?!?!?

Damn! So close, yet sooooooooooooo far away....

::(

Too bad you didn't move closer to Cheyenne.

Looking for a DM to run an Eberron campaign. I know of at least 3 - 4 more possible players.

Abinadi wrote:
I wouldn't want to spend $40 on a book dedicated to the classic campaigns. I would hate to have pages and pages of Mystara or Dragonlance that I would never use. I would rather have one book per setting. Dark Sun, Planescape, and Spelljammer were my favorite. Brand new material to supplement the official world websites written mostly/in conjunction with the those sites contributors would be a given.

This is a supreme idea. I personally would love a "Mystara: Red Steel, Hollow World" one, as well as Spelljammer and Athas. Having separate volumes would make it much more feasable for those of us on fixed budgets that don't want certain settings.

I too would like to see more plane-touched races. However I would prefer more of them that ar NOT based on humans. Whether they be some variant of Lizardfolk/Coatl crossbreed to other odd peculiar combinations that could cause a specific result that would breed true. Maybe even something that may further expand on the previous "Infused" article that could go along Inner-planar flavor.

For the next one, try doing what the first ones description said it would be. Though I don't actually have it, or seen it anywhere yet, but the Table of Contents that can be viewed on the page here shows that much about what was promised was extremely misleading. EXAMPLE:
* No races were in any way updated to 3.5. Those presented were already 3.5. Though on the other hand they did deliver on some of my personal faves from issue #65 the missing chromatic dragons. I hope it's not as dissappointing as the 2e update was.

It would have been nice to see many of the races from 2nd edition translated to 3.5 examples might include--> Moldmen(3.5 would change it to Moldfolk no doubt, as they seem too eager to kowtow to gender biased hatemongers), Ravenkin, Faenil, the Lupin breed variations, Sapronemes, Zygodacts, and so on.... ;;D

Yes. Check out this thread.

http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=544107

...others have also been hinted at. ;;D

Can you give me a neighborhood, on the issue number? I may have it. But I'll need to know an approximate number to delve at....

Is upport your idea, Razz. Yamo seems only to be constantly auto-knocking any suggestion, anyone makes. His jab appears, to be the closest he can get to agreeing with an idea :). But it looks as if the new style and set-up of the mag wouldn't allow for such an excellent idea. Too bad. It may be an excellent oppourtunity to also update any Kara-turan races as well.

Maybe Hazbro/Wizards/TSR is planning on Realms Region books on Kara-Tur, Maztica, and Zakhara. I would support such an undertaking...

Who said anything about furries? Being a fan of monster characters, I'm only hoping for reasons to actually start buying the magazine again. (Not that, that would be an only reason) The magazine had reached a very high pinnacle of quality, then suddenly-->

1.) I'm no longer allowed to subscribe due to lack of credit card. This is not my doing it's "Paizo's" policies, unless they learned from such a mistake. I haven't bothered even trying re-subscribing yet, as many of the latest issues with the exception of #330 have been, to put it nicely, "Lame".
2.) A slash in the percentage of useful articles.
3.) Increase in price, combined with a loss of advertising, which would normally help cover costs.
4.) Too many promises not delivered...

...if you dislike the best collumn since the restructure, Yamo. Then pardon me!

I would like to request the return of only thing I've liked about the change over. Not that I in any way dislike Ecologies, but you've only featured humanoids, in fact almost Hags exclusively. What's up with that? It would be refreshing to focus more on Aberations.

If you actually bring it back, I'd like to request 'converting', the Orochi from MtG Kamigawa block, please...

Wow!!! Excellent ideas. I sure hope they sre used, with proper credit given, of coarse. I too will miss the themed issues. They made it easier to find things in past issues.

Is the Faiths of Faerun feature totally dead now? Its a shame... there are still quite a few cool aspects/new spells/new PrC's that I'd like to see. In fact (and this should probably be in article requests, but anywho) I'd really love to see something in a "Faiths of Faerun" vein on Maztican priests, or even something about Kara-Turan religion in the Realms. In fact, if Faiths of Faerun is still around, I wouldn't mind trying to pump out some stuff to see if I could get it published.

The only problem there, is that Faerun, Kara-Tur, Maztica, and Zakhara are all diferent continents.

If anyone from Hasbro/WotC/TSR is reading this, please eventually release books for those other continents. There is a "Races of Faerun", and a "Players Guide to Faerun". Why not have a "Races of Kara-Tur", or a "Players Guide to Maztica" even if they are only region books, instead of rushing into 4e.

Oh and please Erik Mona, do another double mag cross-over (a la DarkSun, Incursion) for SpellJammer. Please...!!! ::)

I like this issue, but Where is the promised "Sauian Shifter" article?

I totally agree with JustinFritts. It was perfection before the relaunch. I find the "new" 70's style font on the front cover annoying and no longer as eye-catching and distinctive as it once was. Add that to the increase in price combined with the Magazine being almost half the previous content, "Where are the adds that made it more affordable!!". Not your fault if they pulled out.

Plus I loved the Planar cities articles that where to eventually featured. Where are they now? Where are the Issue themes like the Gladiators, Mercenaries, and Pirates, I was giddilly waiting for more.

The only positives I have to say about the relaunch, can summed up in two monthly features, "Winning Races" and "Ecologies". The "new" "Class Acts" is almost totally useless, unless you're a new comer (so at least there's some help for someone).

If only my expectation weren't so high, due to your uber excellent Spelljammer article.

I agree with Vern. I'd also like to know why "Vermin" i.e, insects, arachnids, and so on, with the exception of formians, are always depicted as "Evil".

Who says spiders and scorpions are evil?

Only a gazillion, Keeper95? You must not be looking hard enough.
Seriously, I only enjoy the fantasy fiction, but otherwise agree with Keeper95. Though, I would enjoy reading more of the adventures of Fool Wolf. I'd also like to more from a nonhuman point-of-view.

I hated that multi-part crusades-based stuff. I felt cheated out good material, just for real-world based crap. I tire quickly of the humano-centric attitudes.

It would be great if they handled Chaos accurately. Instead of this annoying lawful property of destruction and inevitable decay. Chaos is more more about creation, newness, and random spawning. They should also have an alternate possibility for the Green => Grey => Death Slaad path. Perhaps maybe if the conditions are right it may go from Grey to some sort of Life Slaad instead of Death Slaad. Maybe a sleeping "Life" Slaad is the cause of the "Lifeshaping" zone on Athas.....

I think I sent in a query, unfortunately my email was having some problems, it may not have actually sent, gonna give them a week to reply before I resend the query.

I haven't actually written the entire article, but I do have an outline which includes the life cycle from birth to old age and a 'Hive Queen' stage, uses of the eyeball as ingredients in magic (whether spells or items), origins of the eyeball, and the physiology and so-called society of the Eyeball. I still need to work on a knowledge check chart and the benefits/drawbacks of having an eyeball as a familiar.

Oh yes, I love this idea. Please maintain the original hermaphrodite reproductive cycle, that beholders should have, though. If you've already got it I'd suggest "I, Tyrant" as a good beholder - beholder-kin source.

One thing I'd like to see included, is information on playing as, the featured creature: Level adjustments, Savage progression, Average height and weight, average life span. That is, if it isn't already in "Savage Speces".

I'd also like to see an explanation of why kobolds suddenly became reptiles for 3rd edition, in the coming kobold article. They used to be mammals in the older editions. Sure they had "scales", but armadillos have scutes as well...
