Well, I've never drank whiskey, and hope to never will. I just like the coloring of it, and the fabric, it's nice and soft. I have a friend who does the same, doesn't drink, he got it as a wedding present, gave the whiskey to his new father-in-law and kept the bag for his dice... that was wow almost 13 yrs ago now. Still brings it every week.

I'm sure we all have one DM/GM that has his own house rules that you either love or you love to hate. I'm just curious as to what those are? Who knows we might all have something that someone else it looking for, or looking to help improve or dis-prove. But anyways, here's one that I made up for when I run Star Wars d20. I'm not looking to hear about any specific system or if it's a skill/feat/or just a plain different way of looking at a rule. Here's my new Feat for the "Personal Weapon" Feat.

Personal Weapon (Feat)

"You have devopled a close, personal bond with a specific weapon because of everything tha has happened to the both of you."

Pre-Req.- Weapon Familiarity Feat for the weapon you wish to apply this to. Weapon must be personalized, the character must have done it. This feat only applies to one individual weapon, not all weapons of the same type. You can gain this feat multiple times, but mus be applied to a different weapon each time.

The weapon recieves a +1 bonus to critical threats
Damage dice increased to the next larger size of dice. (i.e. a weapon that normally does 2d4 damage will now do 2d6 damage)
+2 to Search and Spot checks to locate your weapon.
Weapon personalization losses its penalty.

Value of weapons goes to 1/3 of the market price, the value of the gun is sentimental in nature.
If anyone but the character uses the weapon treat it like the normal version of the weapon, but imply a -1 to both attack and damage.

Don't forget to give the weapon a personal name!

New answer, F. Gee, thanks for the free bookmark, I need another one to save my place in this magazine. My personal choice for all.

Let me know what you think.

Well I agree just because of the simple fact that my gaming group is very busy. At most we get to play only once every other month or so. Sometimes it takes us 5-6 months just to get through a decent size one-shot game. Being the only single person in the group I feel a little left out and abandoned but it's not by choice for my friends, life just happens with kids and families and work and holidays and vacations. Next thing you know it's Halloween and Christmas time, and it's now themed games, "Little Fears" and "Santas Soldiers" for example. Paizo is a great company and I love the AoW A.P. but we're not all kids anymore.

I have to admit, maybe it's just because I play more comp. rpgs than real rpgs, because of scheduling problems, but I love set items. But the Bonding Rituals in the DMG2 leave me wanting more. Look for a thread with with my ideas here soon. I'm still trying to work out a few kinks and I'll need some people to bounce ideas off of.

But for regular items, can't go wrong with an "Everdrip Blade". I just saw something recently in one of the last issues of Dragon or Dungeon, I can't find it now. But if memory serves, it was cheap and practical for a lower level character, in my opinion anyways.

For me it all depends on what kind of character I'm trying to play. I don't really lean toward one race or the other, but what just sounds fun to play, either going with the strength of race, or it's weakness in order to play on the underdog issue... But now that I think about it more, I've never played a human before. They're too much of the "Jacks of All Trades" race, the only way they really have any strengths or weakness' is through bad stat generation.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'll be honest, I'm fairly new to roleplaying, I've only been playing for less than 5 yrs now. But every group I join and play with has had an amazing distaste for the new Star Wars d20 game. Is it something that I'm missing for are they just upset because they feel Wizards nerfed the Jedi classes that much? I'll be honest, I never got a chance to play in a d6 game of Star Wars, so am I missing something from not having played that? Let me know please!
